Chapter 027 Implication
John didn't know much about Ethan’s background, but he knew better than to provoke someone whom Mayor Joseph eagerly anticipated.
"Master, how do you think we should handle this guy to satisfy you?" John asked with a smile.
He didn't want this incident to attract Joseph's attention. If the mayor were to question and hold him accountable, he wouldn't be able to bear the consequences.
Ethan calmly replied, "I already proposed a solution to him, but he didn't agree to it, so I called you, Chairman."
Upon hearing this, Paul's body involuntarily trembled. Running three laps around the bank dressed as a maid? That would be too embarrassing. If he truly, did it, he would have no future.
"Do as the Master says. Otherwise, you won't need to come to work from now on!" John said sternly, his face fierce.
Although Paul was his capable subordinate, compared to offending Ethan, Paul was nothing.
Paul felt extremely aggrieved as he looked at Ethan and pleaded, "Master, can't we find another way? This is too humiliating... After all, I'm a grown man. If I were to do something like this, I would have no future. Please, have mercy… I'm willing to resolve this matter with the best attitude."
Ethan, with a smile that didn't reach his eyes, said, "I don't want to repeat myself. What are you going to do? It's up to you!"
Since it’s Paul’s fault because he dared Bernice to wear that seductive maid outfit in the past, he had to do the same.
Paul struggled countless times contemplating between embarrassment and work, he gritted his teeth, lowered his head, took off his suit, and put on the maid outfit from the black plastic bag... It was extremely awkward for a big man like him to wear such a short and tight maid outfit.
The employees couldn't help but feel a chill in their hearts when they witnessed this scene. Each of them secretly thought that it was fortunate they had only made some dirty jokes earlier and hadn't truly offended Ethan. Otherwise, their fate might be worse than Paul's.
Paul left the bank building wearing this outfit, amidst the incredibly peculiar gazes of the crowd; and started running around the bank building. Passers-by stopped as they witnessed this scene, taking out their phones to capture photos and laughing loudly.
"Master, I'm genuinely sorry. It's all my fault for not managing my subordinates strictly, resulting in such a disgraceful person!" John said in a worried tone.
"I'm satisfied with the Chairman’s handling of the situation. I've vented my anger, so let's put an end to this matter," Ethan said calmly.
John couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief in his heart, then smiled and said, "I'll arrange the Smith Group's loan immediately, no, I'll personally take care of it!"
Ethan thanked him, saying, "Thank you, President Sun."
Without saying another word, John immediately dealt with the Smith Group's loan issue personally. With the Chairman, overseeing it, things went quickly. In less than ten minutes, the Smith Group's loan was resolved.
All the necessary procedures had been submitted in advance; Paul was simply intentionally making things difficult for Bernice. John waved his hand, and tens of millions of US dollars were instantly deposited into the Smith Group's account. "Master, everything is settled. Shall we have a meal together?" John said with a smile.
"Thank you, Chairman," Ethan nodded and did not refuse John's invitation. Meanwhile, Bernice also received the news of the loan being deposited and jumped up from her chair in joy. She grabbed her phone and called Norton, full of surprises.
"Norton, you're so efficient! Just a few hours ago, you said you would help me solve it, and now it's done?" After receiving this call, Norton was also puzzled and had no idea how the loan for the Smith Group had been approved.
He pretended to ponder for a moment, then smiled and said, "Bernice, since I made a promise to you, I will surely fulfill it!
"What's the relationship between our Jones Group and the Boston Bank? They practically begged us to loan them two billion! I called Chairman John just two hours ago, but I didn't expect him to be so efficient. I'll have to thank him later. Well, I might as well borrow more from him..."
"Great! The loan issue is resolved?" Dorothy asked, noticing Bernice's excitement.
"Yes! I didn't expect Mr. Jones to be so concerned about my situation. He managed to sort it out so quickly!" Bernice exclaimed.
Dorothy's expression subtly changed, and then she smiled and said, "Have you ever considered that it might not be Norton's doing?"
Bernice paused for a moment, then replied, "If it's not Mr. Jones, then who else could it be?"
"For example, your current husband!" Dorothy suggested with a smile.
"How is that possible? He's just a small-time prison guard from a rural area. What power does he have to help me with these matters? How can he compare to Mr. Jones? He did stand up for me before the Dragon Chamber of Commerce.
"To be honest, I was quite moved. I didn't expect him to have the courage. However, he acts too recklessly without considering the consequences! Dorothy, did he threaten you again? Did he ask you to come and speak for him?" Bernice furrowed her brow, feeling that something was not simple, and asked further.
Dorothy shook her head and replied with a smile, "No, he didn't. I was just casually mentioning it."
Dorothy had already realized that Ethan was a hidden powerhouse, while Bernice and her family seemed completely unaware.
‘Well, since you're not aware, there's nothing I can do to prevent him from wooing you!’ Dorothy thought silently with a smile.
She felt guilty for keeping this from Bernice, which was why she had given her a subtle reminder. However, Bernice didn't believe it at all, and she seemed more at ease.
"All right, Dorothy, don't mention this person to me in the future. I don't like him! Every time I see him, I feel annoyed!" Bernice said.
"Understood, I won't bring it up again. Don't be mad,” Dorothy reassured her.
Bernice opened her phone and found that several friends had posted pictures of Paul wearing a maid's outfit and running outside the Boston Bank building. She was startled for a moment, then burst into laughter.
"Paul gave me a hard time before, but I didn't expect Mr. Jones to even help me resolve this grudge!" Bernice happily exclaimed.
Dorothy leaned over to look and couldn't help but be amazed by Ethan's methods. Paul was the Chairman's right-hand man in the Boston Bank, yet he was forced to run outside the building like that?
Dorothy left soon after.
Afterward, she grabbed her phone and called Ethan directly, asking, "Mr. McKellen, where are you?"
"I am having dinner with the Chairman at the Cloud Grand Hotel. What's the matter, Bernice?" Ethan replied.
"Is it always necessary for me to contact you only when Bernice has an issue? Can't it be about me?" Dorothy asked with a smile.
Sure enough, it was Ethan who handled the matter.
