Chapter 122 Aaron's Visit

Hazel immediately understood Kevin's implication; a faint blush rose on her tender cheeks, and she shyly said, "Alright, I was just worried that Scarlett might find me interrupting your private time. Aren't you afraid that I might steal Scarlett away, leaving you both devoid of affection for each other?"
"How could that be! I could never find fault with you, Hazel. You are my dearest friend, and your visit brings me immense joy. Scarlett teased with a blush on her face, recollecting last night's passion with a trace of anticipation for another thrilling encounter.
At this moment, all three of them carried hidden intentions, each wrapped in their own thoughts. Kevin and Hazel were aware of the events of the previous night, while Scarlett remained oblivious, still thinking that Hazel was unaware due to her intoxicated state.
Consequently, the atmosphere among the three immediately shifted to one of ambiguity and wonder.
"Scarlett, is Hazel at our place? Her husband is here; please come down."
"Aaron, it's been a while since Hazel last visited us. Today, we must have a meal together before she leaves."
"Is Hazel upstairs? Hazel, let me have a look. Scarlett mentioned you're pregnant. How many months along are you?"
Just then, Lillian's voice echoed from downstairs.
Upon hearing that Aaron had arrived, they all became tense.
Hazel and Kevin exchanged a glance, a hint of panic and shame flickering in their eyes. A blush rose quickly on Hazel's charming face, her delicate frame trembling slightly.
As Hazel thought of her frenzy from the previous night and the debauchery with Kevin, a sense of shame and guilt instinctively arose within her.
Any anger Hazel had harbored towards Aaron had dissipated, and now she felt as though she had betrayed Aaron. Overwhelmed with remorse, she was uncertain how to face her husband, Aaron.
Kevin, too, was fraught with anxiety. Having been intimate with another man's wife the previous night, ejaculating into her vagina, and realizing Hazel hadn’t cleaned up afterward, likely retaining remnants of his own semen, Kevin couldn't help but feel apprehensive in Aaron's presence.
"Hazel is upstairs. We're coming down." Scarlett responded with a soft moan and then turned to Hazel, saying, "Hazel, Aaron must be here to apologize. What happened last night was just a moment of impulsiveness for him. Don't take it to heart too much. How about we go down to talk to Aaron and see what he has to say? If he shows sincere regret and acknowledges his mistake, forgive him, especially since you're carrying his child. What cannot be resolved between a couple through communication, right?"
"I don't want to see him now. I'm too disappointed in him. Kevin, tell Aaron to leave. Tell him to get out! I'll never set foot in his house again. In any case, I have no ties to his property." Despite Hazel's strong words, she was internally in a state of panic.
Her heart raced, her nervous hands and feet trembling slightly.
"Hazel, please don't be like this. Give Aaron at least one chance to apologize. If he sincerely admits his mistake and shows remorse, forgive him. But if he doesn't acknowledge his error, just let him leave." Scarlett continued to persuade earnestly.
It's often said that friends advise against unions rather than in favor of them, but the genuinely kind-hearted Scarlett truly wishes the best for her friend Hazel, unable to bear the thought of Hazel having to endure a strained relationship with her husband while carrying a big belly.
"No! It doesn't matter how apologetic he is. He went too far yesterday. No matter how I treat him in return, it's justified. Even if he were to kneel and plead with me, it would be of no avail. Yesterday, he abandoned me and spoke heartlessly, and now that he comes looking for me, do I have to lower myself to return to him? I suppose it will only make him hold my love cheap, won’t it?" Hazel remained firm in her refusal, turning to walk into the living room, where she sat down on the sofa, her heart racing as she anxiously stole glances at the staircase.
As Aaron's voice echoed "Hazel!" from downstairs, he rushed up, calling out in a conciliatory tone.
Seeing Kevin and Scarlett at the staircase, he awkwardly managed a feeble smile, saying, "Kevin, Scarlett, I'm sorry to have troubled you last night. It's all my fault; I was so unreasonable yesterday. Where's Hazel now? Let me speak to her."
With a tinge of pleading in his voice, Aaron had regained his composure after a night of reflection.
After all, Hazel was his wife, carrying his child, and even if he was angry, he shouldn't have left her alone. Filled with guilt and regret, Aaron now appeared extremely humble and sincere.
Watching Aaron hastily approach, Kevin suddenly felt the urge to laugh as Aaron appeared to him to be a fool at the moment.
However, one can't help but feel a bit guilty when engaging in suspicious activities. Kevin, feeling a surge of unease in his mind, found himself in a flustered state. Having slept with another man's wife and now facing her in person, it was impossible not to feel unsettled. Yet, there was also a hint of smug satisfaction.
"Aaron, what you did last night was truly excessive! It's a good thing we were there. How can we leave Hazel alone on the street and expose her to potential dangers – what if she encountered criminals? How could you bear to abandon Hazel like that, even taking off with the car? Your behavior this time is truly unacceptable!" Kevin reprimanded in a sarcastic tone.
Previously, Aaron had always enjoyed showing off his superiority in front of Scarlett, acting all high and mighty and even taking pleasure in lecturing others.
Now, Kevin needed to regain his standing.
