Chapter 18 The First Physical Contact
Kevin suppressed the impulse to taste her sweet essence, continually reminding himself that patience was key when pursuing a girl, especially his sister-in-law. He must take it step by step!
He couldn't be hasty! Impatience wouldn't be good; it would just backfire!
"Foolish girl, there's no need to thank me. We are family. More so, I share in your struggles," Kevin said naturally, placing his hand behind Sofia's head and gently pressing it against his shoulder.
"Sofia, it's too hard on you. Cry if you need to. If there's anything that upsets you or any troubles you face, just turn to me. As your brother, I won't let you be wronged," Kevin said softly as he stroked Sofia's glossy, thick hair, greedily inhaling her sweet fragrance.

Seeing Sofia's status indicators displaying wariness and unease, Kevin knew they had reached a limit. Any further action would be counterproductive.
"Alright, Sofia, time's getting on. Let's go to eat something," Kevin said, starting the car and skillfully driving out of the garage.
With their recent physical closeness, their relationship had noticeably warmed.
Throughout the ride, Sofia became even more lively and daring, perhaps because she could continue to chase her dreams.
Sofia relaxed and joyfully placed her long, fair legs casually on the dashboard and began to hum a cheerful tune. Her round, tender legs were alluring, making it hard for Kevin to take his eyes off them.
Kevin found a large mall nearby, and after treating Sofia to a barbecue at her suggestion, he accompanied her as she shopped in the mall.
Kevin had guessed Sofia would want to shop after eating and had specifically chosen the grand Mosaic Mall nearby. The main reason is that this mall housed an LV boutique.
Kevin's mission for the day was simple.
To purchase affection! Using both financial expenditure and emotional appeal to unlock Sofia's heart!
Spending money also required finesse! Just now, if he had directly given Sofia the money, with her proud and strong-willed nature, she would have definitely refused and become even more wary of him.
Given the familial bond as brother-in-law and sister-in-law, offering money abruptly might arouse suspicions of ulterior motives.
But by supporting her dream as a family, the outcome would be completely different!
The same went for buying a handbag.
Kevin could directly buy his wife, Scarlett, a Cartier watch, but he couldn't directly give Sofia an LV handbag. Kevin needed to craft an opportunity for Sofia to accept the gift of a bag.
Only then would it feel natural and touch her heart.
Thinking that Sofia enjoyed coffee, Kevin took the opportunity while she was busy picking out clothes to buy two cups from Starbucks.
"Kevin, shall I buy you a set of clothes? Yours seem a bit old in your current clothes," Sofia said happily, taking the coffee from Kevin and naturally linking their arms.
"Sure, I trust your taste; you'll definitely pick something suitable for me," said Kevin, his heart fluttering as he felt Sofia's grip on his arm, filled with the sweetness akin to being in love.
Spending time with Sofia reminded him of the days back when he was at university.
"How about this outfit? It looks beautiful and suits you well. Ask your boyfriend if you don't believe me," said a saleswoman nearby with a smile as she presented Sofia with a dress.
Sofia's face reddened with embarrassment, and she hastily released Kevin's arm, clarifying, "You're mistaken; he's not my boyfriend."
Kevin simply smiled and asked Sofia, pointing to the floral dress the saleswoman held, "Sofia, this dress is actually very pretty. Do you like it?"
Given the saleswoman's gift of gab, Kevin would buy the dress regardless.
"No, I have plenty of clothes at home. And these are all so expensive," Sofia whispered in Kevin's ear, trying to pull him away.
With a calm smile, Kevin said to the saleswoman, "We'll take it. Package up the dress; I'm buying it."
Holding close to a million dollars in his frivolous funds, a few dresses were nothing significant.
Indeed, the feeling of being rich was truly great.
