Chapter 94 Drink with Me!
"You're right; I know how Hazel is, and it's indeed not possible to speak reason to her right now. So, how about this, honey? I'm going to ask you to endure some discomfort tonight. I'll bring Hazel back to our house and have her stay over with me. Could you please sleep in the living room tonight? Is that okay?" Scarlett pleaded with Kevin, a hint of guilt lacing her voice.
Kevin had been hoping for just such a suggestion. Hazel would stay over at their house.
However, on the surface, Kevin feigned a troubled expression and said, "Alright, then that means I won't be able to spend tonight with you. Alright, Hazel is your best friend, after all. We should help her at this critical moment. Alright, then go ahead and talk to Hazel."
"Great! You're the best, my dear." Scarlett gratefully glanced at Kevin before turning to Hazel to begin consoling her.
While methodically devouring the barbecued meat on his plate, Kevin watched as Hazel wiped away her tears and nodded incessantly, which signaled that the matter was settled for the day.
The thought of Hazel going to his home, sleeping with Scarlett in his familiar bed, which was just a wall away from the living room, and possible romantic encounters sparked a flurry of excitement within Kevin. Even his heartbeats raced.
"Hazel, come on. Cheer up! It's not worth it to be upset over such a person. Come on. Let's continue with our barbecue. After we've eaten well, you can head over to our home. I'll give up my bed and let you and Scarlett have it. You don’t need to return Scarlett back to me until Aaron comes crawling back to beg your forgiveness." Observing both of them retake their seats, Kevin immediately smiled and served Hazel a piece of fatty beef, speaking with tender consideration.

"Kevin, Scarlett, you both are really too kind to me. Thank you! Kevin!" Hazel was moved to tears once again by Kevin's compassion, her eyes filled with gratitude and admiration. "If it weren't for your help, I really wouldn't know what to do. Aaron has even taken the car. It's like he'd be happier if I died on the road or encountered some thugs. Maybe then he'd be satisfied if me and the baby were dead."
"Hazel, how could you say that? Aren't we here with you? Aaron wouldn't be that cruel. Perhaps he's on his way back to find you right now." Scarlett offered soothing reassurance.
"Hello, please bring me a bottle of red wine, please!” Hazel said to a waiter. She then turned to Scarlett and said, “Scarlett, I want to drink with you tonight. When was the last time we had a drink together, just the two of us? I recall that. It was when we were still at university. Everyone in our dormitory got drunk that time. Those days were truly joyful. I miss being single so much. It was a mistake to marry Aaron!"
Upon hearing Hazel's desire to drink with Scarlett, Kevin's eyes lit up with anticipation. It was exactly as he had hoped. If he could get them drunk, he'd certainly have a lucky night. A threesome would be thrilling indeed.
"No way! Hazel! You're pregnant; you shouldn't be drinking. I can't indulge you in this. Listen to me; after you give birth to the baby, I promise I'll drink with you." Scarlett urgently dissuaded Hazel, grasping her arm.
"No! I want to drink. I'm going to abort this baby tomorrow. Tonight, I just want to get drunk with you. Scarlett, aren't you my bestie? If you are, then drink with me." Hazel pulled at Scarlett, her voice rebellious and loud.
"Hazel, don't be like this; please don't act rashly; you're upset right now, and you shouldn't do anything silly in the heat of the moment." Scarlett gently protested again.
However, by this time, the waiter had already brought over the red wine, and seeing Kevin nod, he swiftly uncorked the bottle.
"Scarlett, let Hazel drink a little. A bit of red wine can be good for women's health. It won't hurt if she drinks just a small amount." Kevin played peacemaker, placing the glasses the waiter handed him in front of the two women. "I have to drive later, so I can't join you, but Scarlett, why don't you have a little with Hazel? After all, encountering something like this, anyone would feel upset."
"Alright, then we'll just have one small glass," Scarlett nodded reluctantly. At this moment, Hazel had already taken the bottle and poured herself a full glass of red wine.
"Don't pour anymore." Scarlett tried to grasp Hazel's hand, but Hazel picked up her glass and gulped down the contents; then she immediately poured a large glass for Scarlett, saying, "Scarlett, you drink too. Drink with me. If you don't, I'll drink the entire bottle myself."
"Alright, I'll drink with you." Scarlett, with a heart full of pity for Hazel, unwillingly picked up her glass and drank it all in one go.
Scarlett and Hazel weren't exactly heavy drinkers, so after only one glass, a flush of crimson promptly appeared on their cheeks.
"Another!" Hazel picked up the glass filled to the brim with red wine, calling out cheerfully to Scarlett.
"Hazel, you can't drink anymore." Though Scarlett tried to protest, Hazel, already a bit drunk, once again took a large gulp of the red wine.
