Chapter 134 Pansea Hotel
Led by the doorman, the party parked their cars and entered the resplendent grand hotel under Kevin's lead.
Looking at the magnificent and glittering lobby, everyone couldn't help but feel excited and thrilled.
"Good evening, sir. May I help you with anything?" A beautiful girl in a purple dress approached with quick steps, asking Kevin respectfully.
"I have a dinner reservation; please lead us to it." Kevin nodded to the girl, feeling a bit nervous.
He was relieved that he had visited earlier that afternoon; otherwise, he wouldn't have known what to do.
"Right this way, please!" The girl gracefully indicated the way with a welcoming gesture, swaying her shapely hips as she led the group to the largest banquet hall on the first floor.
"Damn, Kevin, you're really going all out this time! Just for our small group, you actually rented out such a huge hall. This is more like an exhibition space, isn't it? Damn, there's even a grand curtain. Is there going to be a performance later?"
Everyone gasped in surprise as they entered the hall.
"I heard this is the best private room here, and one evening meal costs at least twenty thousand dollars. Kevin, we know you're generous and kind to your family, especially your elders, and want to treat your mother-in-law. Still, this extravagant display is really unnecessary," Marshall commented with a soft cough, frowning and looking at Kevin with a disapproving gaze.
"Kevin, this is too wasteful for a few of us to have a meal in such a big hall. How much did you actually spend?" Scarlett also looked at Kevin with a touch of reprimand in her eyes, concerned about the expense.
"It's nothing. As long as Mom is happy and she likes it, I'm willing to spend whatever it takes. I earn money to improve our family's life; money is just an object. Our happiness is what matters most." Kevin smiled nonchalantly and instructed the waiter, "Please inform them we're ready to start."
"Of course, sir." A waitress standing by the door promptly hastened out.
"Look, it's the Ripplestone River outside. So beautiful!" Sofia exclaimed excitedly, looking through a whole row of floor-to-ceiling windows on the east side of the hall, which afforded a clear view of the grand and majestic Ripplestone River.
It was right at the time when the tide was coming in, and the roar of the water could be heard even within the private room.
"The tide is coming. Everybody, come look!"
At Sofia's invitation, everyone walked excitedly over to the windows, watching the rising tide of the Ripplestone River.
"Kevin, you've really gone all out this time. Mom is very happy. I feel so relieved and fortunate to have such a good son-in-law as you." Lillian touched and held onto Kevin, her eyes even brimming with tears.
Kevin naturally wrapped his arms around his mother-in-law, Lillian, whispering tenderly in her ear, "Mom, as long as you're happy, that's my greatest honor."
Lillian was so touched by Kevin's intimate gesture that she instantly blushed, feeling a tickle of excitement. She glanced nervously at the others and then, finding them preoccupied with the view, shyly pursed her lips and turned to dodge Kevin's affection.
At that moment, Lillian's heart raced.

Lillian could feel her chest pounding violently. The instant Kevin embraced her, Lillian felt like she was melting.
She thought, ‘What am I thinking? How could I entertain such thoughts? He's my son-in-law. Lillian, have you lost your mind? What on earth are you thinking? No! Absolutely not. It must not happen!’
Watching as everyone turned back and sat down, Lillian stroked her chest, her face flushed with shame.
After everyone was seated, the waitstaff started serving dishes promptly.
Course after course, fine dishes were presented.
The waitstaff then uncorked various high-end wines and beverages and began to pour everyone’s glass respectfully.
"Today is my sister's birthday. I'd like to propose a toast, wishing her to be forever young and beautiful!" After eating a few bites, Marshall adopted the poise of the family elder, cleared his throat, stood up, and raised his glass. "I drove here today, so I will not be drinking wine. I'll drink juice instead. Now, let's all have a drink."
Upon Marshall's signal, everyone rose to clink their glasses.
Lillian, Scarlett, Sofia, and Natalie didn't have to drive today, so they were all sipping red wine. Kevin also graciously served Clara and Hannah red wine.
Except for those who were driving, everyone was served red wine.
