Chapter 124 The Sycophant
"Hazel! I truly know my mistake. How can I make amends for it?" Under Hazel's compelling and overbearing demeanor, Aaron, disregarding all pride, directly fell to his knees with a heartfelt apology, tears welling in his eyes as he confessed, "Hazel, I've erred. I will never treat you this way again. I will listen to you. Your word is my command. Please, come back with me."
Seeing Aaron on his knees, Kevin and Scarlett both wore expressions of shock.
It was indeed quite challenging to compel a man to kneel. It seemed Aaron truly realized his wrongs this time.
Upon reflection, Aaron was genuinely nice to Hazel, being a doctor with a high income and a caring nature. Such a good husband was a rare catch for many women.
Although Hazel was beautiful, with a good figure and a decent job, she wasn't at a loss when compared to the others.
Even Scarlett couldn't help but feel a bit uncomfortable.
"Hazel, enough! Aaron was already aware of his mistake; forgive him. After all, you are a couple. Why do you persist in this?" Scarlett stepped forward, pulling Hazel and whispering in her ear with a reproachful tone.
Hazel glanced sneakily at Kevin, feeling even guiltier toward her husband. The earnest look on her husband's face made Hazel increasingly regret the impulsive mistake she had made the night before.
The more she felt this way, the more she found it difficult to face her husband.
"Alright, let's move on from what happened yesterday. But our house must be written in my name. This way, both I and the baby in my belly will feel secure. Otherwise, if you lose your temper again in the future and drive me out, what am I supposed to do?" Hazel stood up, her eyes darting around as she spoke with a hint of shame, pursing her lips in an attempt to hide her guilt and self-blame.
"Alright! I'll comply with your wishes. Let's go home now, prepare the property certificate, and have my parents accompany us for the transfer. We'll put it solely in your name." Seeing Hazel relent, Aaron immediately put on a subservient grin, supporting Hazel's arm, behaving like a sycophant as they descended the stairs.
Watching the couple leave, Kevin found the situation increasingly intriguing.
Observing Hazel's recent state, it seemed she had already regretted her impulsiveness from the previous night. Kevin was curious to see if Hazel could maintain her composure moving forward.
He decided to distance himself from her for a few days and provoke her a bit later. Kevin was confident that with Hazel's flirtatious nature, she wouldn't be able to resist.
After bidding farewell to Hazel and Aaron, Kevin, pretending to prepare for a birthday banquet, left alone in his car.
Lillian had specifically taken the day off today, with her three daughters accompanying her at home. Kevin took the four beautiful ladies out for a shopping trip.
Inside the Mercedes-Benz showroom, the bright and luxurious display room shimmered under the daylight's gleaming high-end incandescent lights. The sleek floor reflected the radiant lighting, enhancing the spacious, clean, and well-lit hall.
Two salespersons in black formal suits stood respectfully at the entrance, awaiting customers' arrival.
Being only 9 o'clock in the morning, there were not many customers looking at cars in the 4S store.
A stylish, urban woman with an LV bag, accompanied by a greasy middle-aged man, strutted into the 4S store with an air of superiority.
Immediately, a sales consultant briskly approached them, warmly introducing the cars in the showroom.
Kevin, having just purchased a Seiko watch from the mall, parked his Toyota Corolla in the 4S store's parking lot and stepped out of the car hesitantly. He gazed at the grand and magnificent Mercedes-Benz showroom, feeling awe.
Coming from an average household, Kevin had always been on the poorer side. Even after starting work, his life had been modest. He had never dared to imagine driving luxurious cars like a Mercedes-Benz or BMW. Even his Corolla had been purchased with the dowry money from Scarlett's family and his own savings.
For a poor boy like Kevin, Mercedes-Benz cars, especially the E-Class and S-Class, invoked a deep sense of reverence.
Back then, Kevin would have self-deprecatingly ridiculed himself for daring to visit a Mercedes-Benz 4S store. But now, with money in his pocket and a newfound confidence, his demeanor had changed.
Seeing the elegantly suited salespeople at the entrance, with the men being handsome and the women being alluring in makeup, their aura in the extravagant Mercedes-Benz showroom made them shine radiantly.
"Sir, welcome to the Harborview Metropolis Mercedes-Benz dealership!"
Kevin hesitantly walked in while the salespeople politely greeted him. A handsome male sales manager, Xavier Fotheringay, approached him with a smile, extending his hand, "Sir, I'm the sales manager, Xavier Fotheringay. May I know your name? What Mercedes-Benz model are you interested in today?"
