Chapter 31
I sighed as I leaned back against my chair and rubbed my temples. “It’s been a rough year for me the last year. I was put in a psychiatric hospital after being accused of killing my parents, I lived with my father’s brother and his family and turned out they were actually evil, and I was involved in this small gang of teens in my new hometown who were known to keep the place safe from any more disappearances from the woods, and it turned out that it was something paranormal that caused the disappearances.”
“Let me guess, that’s where dad found you?” Irene asked and I nodded.
“And everything changed after that.” I added. I then looked at her with a pleading look. “After everything you told me, I want to know more about why Lucifer killed my parents. It was something I feared asking him and I decided to just forget about it hoping that it wouldn’t change me as a human. But now…I don’t think I can fall asleep without knowing the truth.”
Irene stared at me with a sympathetic look before nodding. “I’ll see what I can help with.”
Despite her living in hell all her life, Irene didn’t seem so evil and horrible as I thought she would be. With this newfound piece of information in mind, it calmed my nerves a little and the only thing I had to worry about was meeting my other two brothers, who were now chatting on their own with their plates empty.
“Do you want to meet Tae and Yoongi?” Irene asked. “Let’s get out of here. Let’s look for somewhere else to talk. I always hate these events. Feel like a trophy on display.” She confided in me.
I nodded. I watched as Irene stood and made her way to the two boys and leaned down to them, whispering something in their ears before they nodded and stood up as well. The action caught Lucifer’s attention, and he stared at them with a questioning look.
“Might I ask where the three of you will be going?” He demanded gently. “You three are supposed to welcome your sister!”
“We are, dad, just not in here. We thought we’d give her a tour and get to know each other.” Irene replied. She then held out her hand for me and I stood, taking her hand in mine, and standing next to her. “We’re going somewhere. Just a little family bonding, you know?”
Dad smirked. “I’m jealous. Alright, now scurry off, all of you. I still have some matters to address.”
I watched as he then locked eyes with the two boys, giving them a warning look. “Be good boys. And I mean it.”
Taehyung could only smirk as he nodded, while Yoongi rolled his eyes with a bored expression. We bid our goodbyes to our father and together the four of us walked out of the room, Irene still holding my hand and leading us out the door.
The four of us were silent as we rounded corners and passed by different rooms until we stopped at a vast, undeveloped area in the palace where no one was around.
“Alright, before we leave, I think the three of you should formally introduce yourselves.” Irene suggested.
Taehyung was the first to make the move. I watched as he took a step towards me and smiled, his dark eyes gleaming underneath the golden glow of the chandeliers. “Kim Taehyung, your incredibly attractive and loving brother. It’s nice to finally meet you, Lilith.” He sounded energetic.
He had his hand outstretched, and I shook it. “Please, just call me Lilly.” I smiled.
My eyes slightly widened as he held up my hand, bringing it closer to his lips before kissing it softly, looking me in the eyes as he did so.
“You slut!” Irene exclaimed as she slapped the back of Taehyung’s hand, the action making him drop my hand as he glared at Irene. “Please, I beg of you, do not bring our new sister into this taboo of yours.” I wanted to know what “Taboo.” But thought better of sticking my nose into their business on the first time we had met.
Yoongi smirked at the comment. “She’s right. Taehyung has a thing for incest. I’m Min Yoongi, nice to meet you.”
“Lilly,” I nervously replied, shaking his hand. “Incest” the thought disgusted me.
“Alright, now that we finished the introductions, let’s decide on where we’re doing some family bonding time,” Irene declared with a grin. “Any suggestions?”
“We should go to Paris, impress Lilly with our ability to teleport anywhere we’d like.” Yoongi suggested with a smile. We could teleport on our own??
“Italy would be great. I’ve been craving for pasta and pizza for days now.” Taehyung piped in.
“Guys let’s not overwhelm Lilly over here. How about we go somewhere familiar for Lilly? Then we could travel the whole fucking world after we got to know her better.” Irene replied and the suggestion seemed to work with the other boys.
“I-I’m good with any, guys.” I replied, hoping that it would help their situation.
“Oh, let’s go to Goldpeak! See where you live!” Irene exclaimed excitedly.
I shrugged with a small smile. “Why not? I mean, it’s no Paris or Italy, but they do serve the best milkshakes and burgers.”
Taehyung moaned out at the sound of milkshake and burgers as he threw his head back and closed his eyes. “Yes, I’d love for some American delicacies now.”
Irene shrugged, grinning. “Alright, Goldpeak it is, then!”
