Chapter 74

Taylor Pov

I awake to an empty clearing. Bryce and Carter lay face down grumbling as they slowly began to sit up. As I look around, I see the back of an angel. White glorious wings. I must be dead. We must have died and now we have moved on to the afterlife.
I didn’t want to be dead. “Noooo!” I began to shout and started pounded the ground with my fist. The angel turned around and my tears and screams got caught in my throat. It wasn’t an angel. Well, it was but it was also Kingsley. Slowly he walked towards us, and Bryce pulled me into his arms being the overprotective brother. I didn’t protest. I was too stunned to say anything or do anything.
“Dude, you’ve turned into some kind of swan. Ugly duckling and all that.” Crater mumbled and Kingsley just shook his head.
“She’s gone.” Kingsley said in just above a whisper.
“Dead?” Carter asked. If I was close enough, I would have slapped him upside the head. He’s lucky he was a few feet away.
“No, she is the queen of hell.” I turned a little in Bryce’s tight hold who had his jaw almost on the floor.
“Queen of hell?” I asked him slowly. I didn’t understand what was going on. Lucifer was her father. Surly she didn’t marry her father.
“Yes, she is now the queen.” Kingsley stated. Okay. I must be dead, or I’d hit my head pretty hard, and I am dreaming.
“Maybe you should take a seat and take a deep breath……. Like this.” Carter then began to demonstrate meditation breathing and then carried on talking, “Then tell us what happened.” Both me and Bryce stole a quick glance at each other. Did Carter come out with something logical.
“She killed Lucifer and now she has to take his place.” Kingsley finally said.
“That doesn’t explain the wings.” Carter said folding his arms like a small child in a huff.
Kingsley rolled his eyes and then began to tell us how he had got his wings. We all hugged and cried together. With nothing else left to do we headed home with heavy hearts.
All of us were too emotional to sleep so we just sat on the sofa and stared into space until we heard a loud crash, and the sound of glass breaking.
Bryce was on his feet instantly running towards the sound.
The kitchen window had been broken by a rock. Pensively Bryce moved closer to the window. I followed behind. Stood outside, with her hands on her hips and blond hair swaying in the wind was Victoria. She looked pissed. Why I didn’t know and didn’t want to deal with the spoilt brat’s attitude and drama.
“Where is Eliyah!” she yelled, and pain ripped through my heart.
“He’s dead.” Carter called back in a chocked voice.
“I am not playing fucking games get the prick now!!” she screamed.
“He’s dead now piss off!” Bryce yelled back.
“What the fuck as he done to me!!” she asked in a desperate tone as fangs extended and hung over her lips.
“Wait, didn’t Eliyah say he had killed Victoria?” I asked clinging to Bryce’s shirt arm.
“Fuck, he didn’t kill her he turned her into a vampire.” Bryce stated and I wanted to pound my head against a wall. A normal Victoria was raging bitch. A vampire Victoria I dreaded to think.
“Hay guys,” we all turned around to the voice and Taehyung stood there with a smirk.
“So, Lilly asked me to come and just let you guys know that she is doing well. But she won’t be able to visit for a while until she gets control of her vampire abilities.”
“What?” what the hell was he talking about?
“Oh, I forgot that bit. Lilly died and came back as a vampire.” Kinsley stated as if it was nothing.
“Fuck’s sake. What are we supposed to do with that one?” I asked Taehyung pointing at Victoria who was still stood on the front porch staring daggers at us all.
“Want me to kill it?” Taehyung asked and we all shouted “Noo!” in union.
“Victoria is Lilly’s cousin. Well, she had thought she was her cousin.” I tried to explain. Things were getting more complicated by the day.
“Oh, okay. I will take her to Lilith, and she will send her off to Vampire Academy.”
“Wait what? There is a school for those blood sucking leeches.” Carter asked which earned him a deadly stare from Taehyung. If looks could kill he would have dropped where he stood.
“My sister is now one of those blood sucking leeches.”
“Yeah, sister or no sister she still drinks blood.” Bryce gave him a slap which instantly shut him up. Carter just as no filter and says what ever comes to mind.
“Well guys I will be off. I will take your unwanted guest with me. Remember Lilly will see you when she can.” Taehyung, he said before disappearing into black smoke reappearing and outside to vanish once again with Victoria in tow.
Nothing was the same. Within a week we had lost so much, yet we had learned more than we ever thought possible. But the truth was we no longer walked around with our eyes closed. We knew what was out there. What dangers hid within the dark and within plain sight. Whatever came our way next, we would face it. Together we could face anything.
