Chapter 47
I was too late. How could that be? Something had possessed the girl before I had the chance to get to her. The odd thing was that the thing was powerful and with the sounds of it wanted me dead. Me the lord of the underworld. The king of all demons and darkness. How could this happen? With a load roar I put my hand through the glass mirror and watched it shatter. I needed to get my men on earth as quickly as possible. I new who this was. Well, I had a fairly good idea.

My blood ran cold as I gripped Irene’s hand. As if out of instinct, Yoongi and Taehyung came in front of Irene and I, shielding us from the laughing, possessed girl. Taehyung was slowly pushing us back, our eyes not leaving the girl’s.
“Dad, this isn’t funny,” Irene called out.
“You’re literally exposing us to the humans, you asshole!” Taehyung exclaimed, calling out to no one in the vicinity but it was directed to our father.
“The god of evil isn’t the only one who’s powerful enough to be feared by many , boy.” The girl said aloud, still in the same two voices. That’s when the girl began chanting, and it was a language I’ve never heard of before. It wasn’t Latin, or Greek. It was different. And that fact alone was enough to tell me—and my siblings—that this entity that possessed the girl was dangerous and was not on our father’s side.
The possessed girl’s chanting became louder and louder as she stood, her head hung low but her jet-black eyes were still on us. That’s when the lake behind her began erupting in a pool of bubbles, and the action caused everyone to scream and run away. The music had already stopped, and everyone was already leaving the woods. Behind us I could hear the rest of the boys telling everyone else to leave and find some place safe.
“Lucifer!” Yoongi exclaimed.
The possessed girl stopped in between her chanting and laughed once again, sputtering out blood as she did so. “Your ignorant father cannot hear his poor children, not when my coven is just as powerful as he is.”
Coven.
“Oh no.” Yoongi breathed out. And we were all thinking the same thing.
As if our thoughts were confirmed, several women emerged out of the bubbles in the lake, and there were at least twenty of them. They all floated above the water, and they just stood there, all wearing dirty white clothes and they all had long, raven hair that covered their faces. Their hands hung low on both of their sides; palms open outwards as if they were all joined in a prayer. They were also chanting the same unfamiliar language.
Irene began muttering something underneath her breath, and I quickly recognized that she was saying something in Latin. What is with all these non-human creatures and talking in dead languages??
My attention was diverted from Irene when the women who were floating in the water began walking towards the shore, their palms still outstretched and still chanting.
“Lilly, go with your friends.” Taehyung muttered behind his shoulder, yet his eyes didn’t leave the women.
I shook my head, afraid for what my siblings would do. We all weren’t sure where they came from, and my siblings do not have the slightest idea on how to deal with them. This could end bad for all of us here against these creatures.
“I can’t leave you guys here, not when you don’t even know what these women are capable of.” I replied.
“Lilly, just do what I say and go to your boyfriend.” Taehyung insisted and his voice sounded much angrier.
“But— “
“This isn’t a fucking game, Lilly, and you’re not as experienced as we are!” Taehyung exploded as he turned around and faced me. I flinched at his sudden outburst and his eyes were glowing red when his gaze met mine, nostrils flaring.
“Lilly, you are weak. You’ve never lived in hell as long as we did, and I know for a fucking fact that you can’t even hold yourself after a simple spell. At least not yet.” Taehyung explained. He was breathing heavily. “Let me ask you one more time to leave and let us handle this. I don’t want you getting hurt. You’re not ready for this yet.”
I understood his part. Instead of arguing, I swallowed the small ache in my chest and turned around, running to where Kingsley was sending off the last bunch of people away from what was happening. The rest of the boys were going around in the vicinity, making sure that no one else stayed while also keeping an eye out on what was happening in front of all of us.
“Kingsley!” I exclaimed. He turned around and I could see the look of relief on his face.
“Oh, Lilly,” he breathed out as he engulfed me in a tight hug. “Come on, let’s let your siblings deal with them, whatever the fuck they are.”
It was so wrong of us not to bring our equipment. It was nothing special; just some hunting knives, pistols, and everything else you’d see when you’re out hunting in the wild.
The feeling of frustration was deep in my gut as the rest of us watched from a distance, the chanting women stood still in front of three of my siblings, whose stances were ready to fight back in case something went wrong. Just watching them there while their other sibling was at the back, helplessly staring, I couldn’t help but feel angry at myself, and the sudden need to be as experienced as them loomed over my head.
My thoughts were quickly disrupted when Yoongi let out a cry of pain as his knees fell to the ground, his hands gripping his throat. I gasped when I saw one of the women had her hand outstretched, her palm facing the three of them. It looked like she was choking him from a distance.
Taehyung sprang into action, lifting his hand and screaming out an “Emorior!”
I guessed it was some kind of spell. I wasn’t sure what it meant, but it did not affect the women, not even a flinch.
The possessed girl laughed once again. “Your powers cannot penetrate the shield that this coven has upon us. You are deemed worthless and helpless. You all are as good as dead.”
Yoongi was still choking and, on his knees, and Irene was trying to pull him away and at the same time helping him breathe. I wanted to go to them, help Yoongi, but I knew that I could be risking my life. Seeing that not even my siblings’ powers had affected them, I wouldn’t even stand a chance.
Frustrated tears left my eyes as Kingsley held me close, hugging me tighter when my body moved to run back to them. There must be something that I could do.
“Dad,” I whispered as tears left my eyes. “Dad why can’t you hear us?? We need you!”
I watched as Irene stood and took a few steps closer to the women. My breath hitched as I watched her. I didn’t want any of them getting hurt.
“Leva clypeum qui hoc servat id continebat covina.” Irene said aloud as she lifted both her hands. “Leva clypeum qui hoc servat id continebat covina!”
The possessed girl’s smile instantly dropped, as if the spell that Irene had said would work on them.
“No,” the possessed girl breathed out as she looked around her coven. “No!”
“Ad vocationem nostram venientes!” Taehyung then exclaimed when the women were looking around them after Irene had casted the unknown spell. Taehyung had struck when they were unguarded, and their exhibition resulted to a cloud of smoke appearing in the middle of my siblings and the women, and as the cloud of smoke disappeared there stood Lucifer, his back on his children as he faced the women who looked surprised to see him there.
“Aradia,” Lucifer greeted as he stared at them, wearing the same dark clothes that he always wore. Somehow his presence made me relax a little. I didn’t even notice that Yoongi was finally free from the spell that the woman had casted on him, and he was standing next to Irene once again, breathing heavily as one handheld on to his neck. But there was something different about dad. He wasn’t actually there. Just his soul as he had put it the last time, I had seen him this way. See through, ghostlike.
“Lucifer,” the possessed girl, Aradia, spoke. “We meet again.”
“You think you can go against my children? They are literal offspring of the devil himself; nothing can stop them.” Dad told her, and even if he had his back turned to us, I could hear the pride that laced his tone.
“I’m impressed, I must say.” Aradia replied. “We would have had their heads if you didn’t come to save them.”
“But in the state, you are you’re not as strong.”
My father laughed and took a step forward.
“Save them?” Lucifer then laughed again. “No, they can save themselves. I am simply here to ask why you and your coven are causing a scene and making trouble after the deal and peace treaty that we made years ago??”
“We came here for what’s ours.” Aradia told him. “You have something that we need, in exchange for power and the rule of this mortal world.”
“And what might that be?”
“Your daughter, Lucifer. We want your daughter.”
