Chapter 51
I sat and stared at Victoria for hours. Her dead body lay still on the damp ground. I had sucked her dry. Every last drop of blood I had taken from her. With the burning hunger under control, I could now think straight. Remember the things I had done and the people I had hurt. Victoria was only one in a lengthy list of people. I felt sick to my stomach. The devil had used me. But the real question was where did that evil essence go when Lilith had killed me? It had to go somewhere. Scratching my head, I stood and looked down at Victoria. I could have sworn I saw her hand move. But I guess it was wishful thinking. I had a lot of amends to make. I also needed to figure a way out to stop myself from becoming a monster. Without delay I swore that Victoria would be my last victim. I would change, I would become an even better Eliyah than I was before.

“Good. You’ll stay here with your siblings while I find out more about as to why they suddenly want you. Honestly, I didn’t expect for word to travel fast when I introduced you to court weeks ago.” Dad said with a sigh to which Taehyung chuckled bitterly.
“You must have forgotten, father, that you’re the god of all evil. Of course, other entities would know if you ever did anything big. Introducing your fourth and most recent child isn’t small news, you know.” Taehyung told him.
“Right,” Dad said dryly. “I should leave now. We can’t waste any more time.”
We watched as he moved to the center of the room where there was more space for him to teleport to who knows where. Just when he raised his hands to flick himself away, he stopped and looked at us again, as if he remembered something.
“And one more thing,” he added. “Teach your dear sister more about magic, even just the basic spells. Anything you know that would keep her safe if it ever came to her coming across danger.”
“This is going to be so much fun!” Irene squealed excitedly. “You can count on us father!”
And with that, without any more words, he flicked his hands and in a blink of an eye he was gone in a cloud of smoke.
Despite my yearning and sadness that I won’t be able to see Kingsley and the others for who knows how long, the thought of being able to do magic and master it with the help of my siblings excited me. Soon, I wouldn’t be a weak, half-evil immortal who lived on earth. I could be someone who people would fear, someone who can protect my friends from paranormal entities. Having this kind of advantage would definitely be a huge help for the Fab Five especially if we’ll continue hunting down and putting an end to unwanted activities in Goldpeak. Soon, we’d be unstoppable.
“Now, how about teaching me how to contact the mortal world?” I asked Irene with a smile. Taehyung rolled his eyes as he made his way to the bed and plopped down, and as he did so, his clothes changed into some matching plaid pajamas.
“Couldn’t that wait for at least a few more hours?” Taehyung groaned out against the pillows, but I heard him perfectly. It was like my senses were heightened whenever I was with them.
“It’s not like you’re the one who’s teaching her how to do it.” Irene scoffed at him.
“Yeah, Mr. Plaid Pajama Pants.” I teased and both Irene and Yoongi snickered, earning myself a glare from the curly-headed devil.
“I don’t know about you guys but I’m getting some sleep now. Wake me up when it’s time to teach Lilly!” Yoongi exclaimed as he bid the three of us goodbye before exiting the room. Taehyung was already fast asleep on the bed.
“Well, that was fast.” I whispered to Irene.
“He’s like that sometimes, especially when he’s tired from doing magic.” Irene told me with a shrug.
“Magic does that to you, huh? Even if you’re experienced?” I asked, trying to cover the slight worry in my tone but failed to do so. Even if Irene noticed it, she didn’t point it out.
“Yes, especially when it’s heavy and dark magic. We’re not witches, so it’s going to be a bit harder for us.” Irene replied with a sigh. But her smile returned when she faced me. “But once you get to learn so much, and you’ll know how to control it, it would feel so good.”
I grinned. “I can’t wait to do that!”
The two of us giggled to ourselves as we left the room, Irene telling me that she had the room next to hers unoccupied so I could have it. But as we walked down the empty and quiet halls, Irene suddenly stopped in her tracks and gasped.
“Hey, you, okay?” I asked when I faced her. Her head snapped to face me, and my eyes widened when I saw her eyes turned red. “Irene, what’s going on?”
“We have visitors,” she whispered in a scared voice. “Unwanted visitors.”
My heart dropped to my chest as my brows furrowed. I looked around the halls and saw that it was empty, yet I pulled her by her wrist and we returned to the room where Taehyung slept in. And as we got there, he was sitting up on the bed as well, his eyes glowing red and he had a shocked look on his face.
“Guys, what’s going on?” I asked worriedly. How could my father think I’d be safe here when two of my siblings are freaking out over some unwanted guests in our own home??
“They’re in the feast hall,” Taehyung muttered, his eyes still red. “Fuck, I hate it when they get to your head.”
“They’re doing this on purpose, and I fucking hate it.” Irene said through gritted teeth. Yoongi then popped inside, and as expected, his eyes were red as well, and he looked both confused and furious.
“Why the fuck are they here??” Yoongi demanded and I slightly flinched at his outburst.
“We’re asking the same question here, Yoongi.” Irene replied with a groan as she shut her eyes closed and clutched her head in both hands.
“Guys, who’s here??” I asked. My heart was beating a million beats per minute by now.
Taehyung looked up at me, his eyes still red but the usually smug and laid-back look on his face was replaced with question and worry.
“Vampires.”
