Chapter 59

“What do you mean? You’ve lost her?” at this point I was on the border line of losing my shit and killing the idiots stood before me. They are lucky that they are one of my first ever turned. Or they may have just found themselves dead.
Vito is staring at the ground, clearly ashamed that he had lost my daughter.
“Mother, Ella is the one that took her.” Adele said in a small stutter.
Before I could register what, I was doing I held the girl’s heart in my hand and her body dropped to the floor with a thud.
Beatrix, Klaus, and Kaleb flinched but didn’t utter a sound. Vito had the good sense to say still and show no emotion at all.
“I don’t care who has taken her! I want her back! Got it?” they all nodded in union.
“Go!” I roared and the scuttled out of the place, Beatrix tripping over her feet in a haste.
The entire supernatural world wanted Lilly for one reason or another. I had to get her back before she fell into the wrong hands. As her mother I owed her that much at least.

My body shivered. Adrenaline was pumping through my veins, and I could feel my body grow weak with every second that passed. I was nauseous after the sudden teleportation and as I opened my eyes, I was in the middle of nowhere, and further from me was the end of the cobbled road that led to a small town. I wasn’t sure if I was still in Italy, but then I remembered that Michelle wanted to take me to the host herself, so I’m assuming we were still in the same country.
I was heaving when I looked up at the owner of a bare-footed person. It was Michelle, wearing the same clothes she wore back at their home, but her face and upper body was covered underneath a black cloak.
“Where are you taking me??” I demanded.
“Quiet, you demon.” She immediately snapped. “There’s no point in running away from me. Your spell-bound with my soul and it will only stop you from getting away.”
I glared at her as she turned around and began walking away from the town, her feet stepping on land where tall grass stretched out towards the mountain ahead. The woods waited for us, and from where I was on the ground, I could see that it was pitch black within the outlines of tall trees. It looked like it was inhabited by dangerous creatures. I could only imagine what awaited us in the dark.
As she walked further and further away from me, I could feel my throat restricting, feeling the breath being sucked out of me. It was like my soul was being pulled away by my own body. I began gasping as I gripped my throat, feeling myself growing weaker and weaker and dark spots began to blur my vision.
“If you don’t hurry, you’ll lose your soul soon. Your body will be left there like a vegetable.” Michelle called out calmly, as if I wasn’t suffering behind her. Afraid of turning into a vegetable, I crawled closer and closer towards her who stopped in her tracks. She turned around to wait for me and as I became nearer, my body regained little strength and I was no longer gasping for air. So, she was serious about the whole binding spell.
My knees shook as I pulled myself to stand up. I was still shivering as I followed her, but I felt better than earlier.
“Where are you taking me? Why are you doing this??” I demanded again. “If you don’t tell me I’d rather stay here soulless than have you take me somewhere I don’t know.”
Her head snapped to face me, and she wore an annoyed expression. “I’m taking you to the host, understand?? I am getting that reward and I will be invincible. I am tired of living under Marie’s coven and her ridiculous rules. I am a witch; I was supposed to do whatever I want; not follow another witch’s orders.”
“Why does she want me specifically? Why not Lucifer himself? She has nothing to get from me, I don’t even know how to use my magic unlike my siblings.” I tried to tell her, hoping that she would change her mind and just forget about it. It was far from possible, but I took the chance.
“That is beyond my knowledge, demon. I just want that prize.” Michelle huffed as we finally reached the woods.
I couldn’t think properly. I couldn’t seem to find anything that could help me to get out of here. How could I even overpower an experienced witch? I don’t know how to use my powers; all I know is how to heal wounds. What a hopeless immortal…
As we trudged through the dark woods with only the moon serving as our light, I could hear rustling from the woods around us which could only trigger my imagination; what kind of creatures lived here? Could it hurt us? Kill us, even? I was now in a world in between the mortal and immortal; anything was possible.
“What do you have there, witch?” A sudden voice spoke behind us. I jumped just as Michelle turned around and shielded me behind her back.
“Nothing. Go away, whatever you are.” Michelle called out. We couldn’t see the owner of the raspy voice.
“She smells like Lucifer. Is that his spawn? My, could it be?? Is that what the host is looking for??” The voice sounded excited now. I could feel chills run down my spine.
“You are mistaken. Now leave us alone before I use a spell on you.” Michelle threatened as she gripped my wrist a little too tightly. Before we could continue our walk, a dark shadow flashed past before it stood in front of us. It was a hairy, naked man. His beard covered half of his face, his chest, back, arms and legs were covered in thick hair. His member dangled on his middle, and I looked away. What was this creature??
He bared his teeth at us, and I saw wolf-like fangs. So that explains it.
