Chapter 73
“Yoongi, think about this.” Irene said and I knew she wanted to safe Lilly as much as I did, but she didn’t want me to die in the process. I knew I had to do it. I had to be the one. Lilly had wormed her way into our hearts, and she deserved so much better than death. She deserved to have her happy ever after. I was determined to give her that.
“I want to do this. I have to do this.” I whisper. Seeing Lilly nailed to that cross was breaking me inside. I was the oldest. I was the one that had to keep my siblings safe. Even if that meant going up against our father.
“We’ll help you.” Taehyung said.
“I will help.” We looked behind us at the new voice and all our mouths hit the floor. Behind us was Kingsley. Behind him he sported the most beautiful white wings. He was an angel. Well, half angel but still. Not many existed after the rebellion Lucifer had killed many of is followers out of rage. To see one was a rare and exceptional experience.
Before either of us could say anything, Kingsley marched into the clearing holding is hand out. A ball of blue light appeared in his hand, and he tossed it at our father who stood there grinning.
The ball went straight through him and singed the ground behind him.
“Of course. It is only an image of him. He can’t leave hell. That’s what he needs Lilly for. His body is back at hell.” Irene exclaimed and I knew this was a fight I had to take alone.
“Stay here.” I order my siblings and leave them to battle dear old dad.
***
“Should we follow him?” I ask and Taehyung shakes his head.
“We can’t, I will distract dad and help Kingsley. You get Lilly out of here.” He says to me, and I nod.
Kingsley was struggling to fight a force he couldn’t touch. Taehyung walked out of our hiding place slowly and confidently.
“So, you got what you wanted. The one that can set you free.” He said while walking towards my father.
I crept through the bushes so that I could get to Lilly from behind keeping my eyes on father and Taehyung.
“We can be free now boy. What is one sacrifice?” he asked in a sure voice.
Taehyung started to chant something I couldn’t hear, and father put his hands to his throat gasping. It lasts a split second before he waved his hand and Taehyung, and Kingsley went sailing in the air. With one fluid motion he turned and slit Lilly’s throat. Blood spilled from her neck as it pooled on the floor the sky began to turn red.
Taehyung was back on his feet and black wings perturbed from his back. It was rare he ever let his wings out. He was serious but I was afraid it was too late. Father and son danced a choreographed fight of destruction.
As they circled and pounced at each other like hungry lions I freed Lilly from the cross. She collapsed in my arms. It was too late. She was dead. Tears sprang from my eyes as I held her close watching my brother and father fight to the death and perhaps Yoogni too.
Lilith sat beside us and smiled. That woman was insane who cried when her daughter had just died.
Then it happened. Lilly’s eyes fluttered open, and fangs extended from her teeth.
“She has transitioned.” Lilith said with pride, and I jumped back looking at my sister with awe and fear as she slowly rose. Crimson eyes glowing that quickly locked on our father. With lightning speed, she ran and within seconds she was stood holding the heart of our father in her hands. In slow motion it seemed to drop from her hand as my father’s body fell to the ground. He was dead. He was gone.
Lilly collapsed beside him and all I could do was stare.
“What happened?” Yoogni asked suddenly appearing and I couldn’t speak. Lilith filled him in.
“His body suddenly disappeared, and I thought we had lost Lilly.” He admitted.
“Maybe we have.” I whispered. after all she was a vampire now.
Lilly sat up and looked around bewiled.
Kingsley wrapped his arms around her, and I wanted to warn him that Lilly may eat him. But I couldn’t. too overwhelmed.
***
What had I done? I had killed him. But how? My mind was racing, and my stomach was burning. Mum crouched beside me and handed me a hospital bag filled with blood.
“Drink this sweetheart.” She whispered and I looked at her in disgust. No way was I drinking blood maybe she had hit her head.
“You have awoken your vampire side; you need to feed.” My mouth watered at the sight of the blood so gingerly I took the bag and took a little sip before greedily emptying the contents.
“I am afraid I have more unwelcome news my love.” Mother said and I stared at her sorrowful eyes.
“As you are the daughter of Lucifer and you have killed your father, now you must take his place as queen of hell.”
“No!” I screamed scrambling to my feet.
“I am afraid you have no choice.” Mother said.
“I am sorry.” She whispered as the gates of hell opened and swallowed me.
I stood in the great hall looking at the throne that now was mine. I didn’t get the chance to say goodbye to Kingsley, Taylor and the rest of my friends.
“Don’t worry my child. You are not trapped here like your father was. You can still see your friends, but you must reside here, or the dark souls will be free to roam the earth.” Mother told me.
“And you have us.” My siblings said, turned, and ran to give the three of them a big hug.
“Together, we will do better.” Irene said and we all agreed.
I was now the queen of hell and I had to protect the world from rotten souls.
I knew that nothing was impossible. I could easily go anywhere and do whatever I wanted.
It sounded difficult, but I was excited.
I am Lilly Archfiend , who was to say I was normal?
