Chapter 50

“Hello Simon,” I smiled as he slowly turned around. Taking one small step towards him he took two steps back. The fear radiated from him. Sweat appeared on his forehead and I watched has he nervously wiped it away with the sleeve of his suite jacket. My taste buds danced in delight. But I was not going to eat him. Oh no I had better plans for him. Taking another step, the grin spread across my face. “Boo!” I screamed and he fell backwards. Into the cage that once belonged to me. locking the door on him I cocked my head to the side. “You will taste your own medicine.” Laughing I slowly walked away. Simon would die in that cage. Alone and afraid. He would feel the same pain and suffering as all his experiments. As I reached the bottom of the steps I turned and chanted. “The face of Simon Davis will now take on the one of another. The demon mother.” From now on while he was in that cell. He would wear my face. Lilith the mother of demons and take my place in the experiments that would surlily kill him. Satisfied it was time to find my daughter Lilly.

“Taylor, Taylor….” I had been hearing my name whispered for over an hour now. No one else could hear it and it was driving me insane. Lilly had disappeared and her family not long after. We were all waiting in the lounge for an update. Where was she?
“Taylor,” my name was whispered again, and I screamed. An ear shattering scream. When I opened my eyes, Ms. Oakley was stood before me. I was surrounded with white. Like a long white corridor.
“Taylor, I don’t have long. You need to listen to me.” she flickered from the Mrs. Oakley that I knew to a young woman with golden blond hair. It was hard to focus.

“Do not let Lilly into the clearing of the woods next Saturday night. If you do then hell will rise, and humanity will be lost.”
“What do you mean?” I tried to ask but she was fading away and suddenly I was sat on the couch with the boys hovering over me.
“Taylor you, okay?” Bryce asked and I gripped his arm.
“Mrs. Oakley is dead.” I whispered. I could feel it in my heart.

“What do you mean I’m not leaving hell??”
The hype and small happiness of me finally being able to do magic had quickly died down the moment we remembered that our father was in the same room as us, watching. I must admit, I saw the hint of fondness in his eyes when I caught him watching us laughing and excitedly talking about me doing powerful magic.
When he was being teased by Irene and Yoongi that we were having a small family reunion with him, he seemed to have returned to reality and went straight to the point telling me that I shouldn’t leave hell. The blood left my face, but I could see the excitement in Irene’s eyes.
But after my shocked and displeased reaction, her smile fell.
“Lilith, you know it’s far too dangerous to return to the mortal world knowing that those witches are out to get you.” Dad said as he pinched the bridge of his nose exasperatedly. “You’d be a fool if you returned there sooner.”
“But what about— “
“I know you’re worried about your boyfriend and your little family back there, but they can’t protect you from these witches, and you know that.” Dad cut me off. “You can only return once I know that you’ll be safe there.”
I stayed silent. I knew dad had a point, and even if I insisted on staying back at home, I would only put their lives in danger once again; and not only theirs, but as well as Kingsley and the rest of them. My head could only go back to what I witnessed earlier, and it was enough for me to stay silent and do what dad said.
“Dads got a point, Lils.” Yoongi added sympathetically. I couldn’t even point out the cute little nickname he gave me. “If you stay there, those witches could easily hunt you down. They’re one of the most powerful and feared coven.”
“What happened when Lilly and I left anyway?” Irene asked.
“We were able to scare them off. We killed a few of them.” Taehyung replied so simply. “If we didn’t pull a few of their heads, they wouldn’t have left.”
Hearing them talk about killing and grabbing witches’ heads off so simply as if it was the most normal thing to do reminded me that there was so much more that I was yet to witness especially that I am Lucifer’s child. Sometimes my human life still couldn’t grasp at the fact that I was immortal and an evil spawn.
“What about Kingsley and the others? Are they okay? What happened when I left?” I asked frantically. They could have been hurt for all I knew.
“They’re fine. Before a fight broke out, we teleported them back to your place.” Yoongi replied. “I haven’t heard from them after, though. But I’m sure they’re okay.”
“Do we even have a cell signal in hell? How am I supposed to call my boyfriend??” I asked as I dropped myself back on the bed with a soft thud. Thinking about the fact that I wasn’t sure when I’ll be able to see my friends and boyfriend again made all the energy drain out of me. The distress that I felt last week was slowly returning once again and it was only a matter of time before I allowed myself to wallow in that dark pit.
“We don’t use phones here, Lilly, but there’s another way you can contact him.” Irene offered with a smile.
“Really? Tell me now, please,” I quickly said as I sat up. Dad quickly cut us off before Irene could tell me how to contact my boyfriend from hell to the mortal world.
“You can discuss that later.” Dad waved us off. “Okay, so you agree to stay here for as long as your situation allows you.”
I nodded hesitantly. What was I supposed to do anyway? It wasn’t like I was going to change my mind and go back to earth, sleeping with one eye open every night from now on. I wanted those witches to slit my throat open.
