Chapter 66

Lilly’s POV
I jolted awake with a gasp of huge breath. As I looked around me, everything was dark. It took me a few moments to remember that I was bound to Michelle, and I turned into a vegetable when those two vampires took me, unsure of how long I was being carried towards the mountain. But as I looked in front of me, those two same vampires were on the ground, dead, their ears bleeding red, and their hearts ripped out of their chests.
“You should thank me for saving you,” Michelle’s voice piped in as I slowly stood up. She was standing behind me, a smug smile on her lips. I have to say, I’m a bit grateful to see her again knowing that my soul was left with her. Those few hours of torture were horrible.
I scoffed. “Save me? You were just saving me for the worst of all.”
“And what’s that?”
“You’re literally going to surrender me to the host, so how is this saving?” I snapped.
“At least you could move and feel like a real being…” Michelle mumbled under her breath before she regained her composure. “No more complaints! We’re nearing Mount Vesuvius and it will only be a matter of time until our powers won’t work here, and the witches will sense you near. I will then have my sweet reward!”
As Michelle grabbed me by the wrist and pulled me deeper into the woods, a tall, dark figure hovered before us, and I could sense more footsteps nearing us from behind. My heart dropped, both in nervousness and exhaustion. I don’t think I can bear any more feeling worthless and lifeless if these creatures take me away from Michelle.
“Where do you think you’re going?”
The deep voice in front of us made my heartbeat twice as fast. I’d recognize that voice anywhere…
“Y-Yoongi??” I whispered. The shadow stepped out of the darkness and, indeed, it was my older brother, staring down Michelle with an intimidating look.
I’ve never felt so relieved and happy to finally see them! Now I feel hopeful that I could still get away from this mess and get back home safely and see my friends again. I wonder how Kingsley is doing. Taylor? The rest of the Fab Five??
I turned around and sure enough, Irene, Taehyung, and—Ella! —were standing behind us, ready to catch Michelle if she ever tried to make a move to escape. I could see the panic in Michelle’s face as she took a few steps back and realized that she was surrounded.
“You can’t take her away that easily, she’s still bound to me!” Michelle exclaimed. “I will never lift that spell until I get what I want!”
“Michelle, please,” Ella pleaded softly. I then noticed the patch of red blood on the lower part of her white dress. “This isn’t you.”
“No, Ella, I’m so sick and tired of living under Marie’s rules! I can’t even go around and be intimidating if trouble finds me, because our magic doesn’t allow us to hurt anyone!” Michelle snapped angrily as she stomped her foot. She was close to having a tantrum.
Ella frowned. “Why would you even hurt anyone if they haven’t done anything to you?”
Michelle remained silent which allowed Ella to continue, “I just used my power to disarm werewolves just so we could find you. I’ve hurt creatures too, Mich, but as a defense. But using our powers to abuse and scare anyone…that’s different.”
I flicked my eyes from Ella to Irene who was already staring at me. She didn’t dare make another move whilst the coven sisters were talking, afraid that Michelle might suddenly do something, and they might lose us again. I gave her a knowing look and she nodded subtly. I knew they had a plan.
My eyes went over to Taehyung’s, and he was staring intently at Michelle, waiting for the right moment to snatch her and neutralize her. It was better than having to lose sight of us again.
“You…what happened?” Michelle asked Ella who seemed to have had her guard down already.
“I was hurt, see?” Ella pointed at the blood on her dress. “A werewolf tried to open me, but his pack stopped him because of the peace treaty. But then they laughed and said that they didn’t need a witch to keep them safe, so I did what I had to do.”
“What did you do?”
Ella smiled, pride lingering in the curves of her lips. “I disarmed them. It wasn’t any simple disarming spell; I made sure they saw that I was angry and betrayed. I knocked out a few werewolves and they didn’t look like they would wake up days from now.”
Michelle giggled a little. Now was the perfect time to jump at her.
“Were you—”
Taehyung immediately lunged at her, his weight pushing the both of them down on the ground and Taehyung was quick to straddle her as he held on to her wrists. Irene quickly followed, placing both of her hands on both sides of her head and mumbled a spell before Michelle’s eyes fluttered close.
I looked up at Ella and saw that she a had a surprised look on her face.
“Will she be, okay? What did you do to her?” She asked Irene worriedly.
“It was just a sleeping spell. She’ll be awake with a snap of my fingers.” Irene replied with a reassuring smile. Once she was neutralized, I ran to Irene and pulled her into a tight hug, a huge sigh of relief leaving my lips.
“Hey, you, okay?? I’m so glad we found you now.” Irene breathed out.
I nodded. “Yeah, aside from the fact that I turned into a human vegetable for a few hours and witnessed a crazy, naked werewolf, I’m fine.”
Yoongi chuckled behind me as Irene let me go. “You’re a brave one,”
I hugged each of my brothers, Irene quietly whispering to me that Taehyung seemed to have grown a small crush on Ella. I giggled.
“Ella,” I beamed when I neared her. She smiled as she pulled me in for a soft hug. “Thank you for helping my siblings to find me.”
“No need to thank me,” She replied. “I wanted to help, okay? Aside from Michelle being my sister, you’re also my friend. I couldn’t bear to leave you like this, surrendering yourself to whatever sick game they’re playing.”
We then let go of the hug. I studied her face; it was filled with dirt, dried blood, and a few bruises. I couldn’t believe this small, fragile witch came to help in the darkness of the woods, filled with unknown and dangerous creatures. But then again, she is a witch—and apparently my brother has taken a liking towards her.
“I swear, when this is all over, we’re hanging out. I’m taking you to Earth and meet my boyfriend and friends.” I told her and her face lit up in excitement.
“I would love that!”
Taehyung cleared his throat. “No time for chit-chat, ladies. I think it’s time for us to leave now. We don’t want any more run-ins with stupid supernatural’s.”
