Chapter 65

“Over my dead body.” Taehyung spat. And just like that, I watched as he growled and charged at the werewolves, his lean and tall figure going around them in incredible speed, watching as a few of the men standing at the back had their necks snapped before they all fell to the ground simultaneously. In a blink of an eye, Taehyung returned to my side, panting, a smug smirk painting his lips.
The alpha watched in surprise as his men fell to the ground lifeless, and as he turned to look at us again, Yoongi, Irene, and Taehyung were once again charging and coming at each of them in super speed. Lucifer’s children really are a different breed; it’s almost as if they inherited almost all of the characteristics every supernatural has which makes them almost unstoppable.
Meanwhile I remained frozen in my spot. I was having a silent battle whether or not I should help. We signed a peace treaty, and I already broke a rule by hurting someone! I—
“Ah!”
I felt a sharp pain on my lower abdomen as I fell to the ground. Looking down, a huge patch of deep red began to form on my white dress and the heat turned into a numbing pain. Looking up, a male werewolf stared down at me, his golden glowing eyes ready to pounce on me again.
That was a stupid move.
“Julian, are you out of your mind?!”
The voice of another one from their pack reached us. Following the sound, another man was running towards us, pushing Julian away from me before kneeling down and pulling my body towards him.
“Guys, the witch is wounded!”
That made everyone stop. Taehyung, who was in the middle of straddling a bloodied male, quickly pushed off of him and rushed towards me, the werewolf leaving me and allowing Taehyung to come near. His hand carefully hovered over my wound, and I slowly rested a hand on his wrist, making him meet my gaze.
“It’s okay, I’ll be okay.” I told him. Taehyung still looked worried. He watched as I gently put his hand away, replacing his with mine and I touched the wound through my dress, adding pressure and I winced. Immediately, I could feel my healing powers working its way through my veins and I felt warmth spread throughout the wound. I could feel the skin closing by itself, the blood drying up and it felt as if nothing had happened.
But what that werewolf had done was unforgivable. Here I was, hesitant to fight, but this stupid dog did not think twice to slice my guts open.
“Who did it.” Taehyung asked but it came more of a statement.
“Keep your head in the game, lover boy. Witches of the moon will never mate with Lucifer’s offspring.” The alpha smirked.
“Didn’t you lot just broke a treaty? You hurt an ally!” Irene exclaimed. “I thoughts Lunas are on your side.”
The woman who seemed to be the alpha’s right hand snorted. “We can perfectly look out for the pack without witches hovering around us, thank you very much.”
My blood boiled hearing her answer. It was stupid, really, that here I was trying my best not to break any from what was agreed on, but they dare laugh off the fact that they broke a witches’ promise, which isn’t going to end up good if you ask me.
“Your mistake.” I huffed. Despite my slow voice, everyone seemed to hear my response as I pulled myself up and dusted off the dirt from my white dress.
Everyone could only stare as the magic worked its way through my veins, the anger and betrayal creating a bigger and scarier energy that if I ever make the wrong move, I could kill someone around me.
“E-Ella?” Irene asked worriedly. As I looked back up at them, everyone stared in surprise, and I soon realized that my eyes turned a glowing white. It was the magic working its way through my veins and once it gets really strong, it usually radiates off of different parts of a witch’s body.
I could feel my feet being lifted off of the ground as I outstretched my arms and opened my palms, feeling the nature around me respond to the magic. The wind blew louder, and the trees swayed harshly around us, and from a distance I could hear the animals responding to the sudden commotion. In front of me the werewolves looked like they were just about ready to leave the area. But it was too late for that.
With one scream of anger, the magic left my body and it bounced off of the enemies, many of them falling to the ground unconscious while those who were a little stronger compared to the others ran away whining like scared dogs. The alpha and his right hand fell to their knees and cried out in pain as I made sure that they felt the most distress from my cry.
“Leave before I finish your pack off.” I threatened. The rest of them who weren’t unconscious didn’t waste any time as they ran away, and before we knew it, we were once again alone in the woods, as if no fight had just broken out.
The magic slowly dissipated, and I fell back to the ground, almost losing my balance but Taehyung was quick to catch me. As I looked up at him my eyes went wide seeing the way his stare was filled with surprise and amazement.
“Ella! Are you okay??” Irene asked as she ran to me, and I nodded. She quickly engulfed me in a tight hug, causing Taehyung to step away.
“Whoa, that was so cool. How did you do that?” Yoongi asked in surprise, examining my face.
I shrugged with a meek smile. “It was only disarming magic.”
My sisters back at the coven reached out again as they shared the vision of the map. Lilly wasn’t far from where we stood.
“We should go, Lilly isn’t far. They seem to have stopped moving.” I told them. That was enough for the four of us to continue on our way, a little less scared of what more awaited us ahead.
