Chapter 84

Mexico's Dark Alley was teeming with people. Every imaginable creature was there looking for dark items. I dreaded thinking about what the majority of these monsters were going to do with their purchases. I had a feeling it wouldn't be pretty. We breezed through the stalls. I had to occasionally divert Taehyung's attention away from a pretty woman. Because he was half succubus, he went sexually insane at times. I wish he'd satisfied his desires before we left. I needed his undivided attention on the task at hand. We couldn't afford to waste time.

“What’s up sis?” Taehyung asked and I lowered my gaze at the floor. I wanted to tell him about Lilly on the other hand I didn’t. I knew if I did, he’d become erratic and that could easily result in us not catching the deadly sins in time.
"Irene, spit it out?" He came to a halt, causing some of the shoppers to collide with him. One man hissed at him, his lizard-like tongue whirling through the air. He drew his arms across his chest and locked his gaze on me.
"I know when something bothers you because I know you." I sighed as he said this.
"Father has possessed Lilly." I confessed, and his face went completely white.
"It's fine, Lilith will take care of it." I quickly said, attempting to calm the raging storm I could see brewing inside his eyes.
“Lilith? The Vampire queen who fled in fear of her life from our father?" When he put it like that, it made me nervous.
I had to believe Lilith had everything under control.
"Let's get this over with as soon as possible. I don't believe Lilith can save Lilly for a second. If it comes down to her or Lilly, I am confident Lilith will flee." Taehyung said, and I couldn't help but agree.
We arrived at Davio's stall in less than five minutes. He was a small plump man with a balding head and wise eyes.
“Davio?” When I asked, he gave me a confident look.
"Who's asking?" he enquired. Taehyung leaned against the man's stall filled with antiques.
"I am." Taehyung responded with his trademark "I'm not playing games" tone.
"And you are?" When Davio asked, I rolled my eyes.
"Your worst nightmare." Taehyung slammed his hands on the stall, causing the items to rattle.
"Look, Lilith dispatched us." I stepped in and pushed Taehyung to the side.
"We require a box." " Encanto La Demino." I tacked on.
"We don't have anything like that." Davio shrugged his shoulders, and Taehyung, clearly fed up with the man's games, grabbed him by the scruff of his t-shirt.
"I need the box right now." He said it in a low, deep voice that gave me chills.
Taehyung's eyes flashed crimson red, and I was afraid he'd kill the man right there and then. I put my hand on his shoulder and whispered into his ear. "Calm down."
I took a step back as I felt him exhale.
"Are you sure you want to deny us?" Should I summon Lilith? She's busy and would be irritated if she were interrupted." I drew my brows up, daring him to say no.
"Fine," Davio said as he spun on his heels and vanished behind a black curtain.
"If he pulls a disappearing act, I'm going to kill him." Taehyung stated as he paced the length of the stall.
"That's why I didn't tell you about Lilly." Taehyung stopped pacing and fixed his gaze on me as I groaned.
"She's also my sister, Irene." His voice was small and helpless.
"I understand." I said softly.
We'd both grown fond of Lilly. Taehyung, Yoongi, and I made a pact when we were kids. Whatever happened, we would protect and support one another. Lilly had somehow gotten into that pact over the last few months. We were all concerned about her. We wanted to protect and safeguard her.
She wasn't ready for life in our world. I wondered if I was, having grown up in this world of horrors.
"We're going to save Lilly." As Davio returned with a gold box engraved with ancient markings, I said confidently.
"What does Lilith intend to do with this box?" Davio inquired while holding the item out of reach.
"Take care of your own affairs." Taehyung snapped and snatched the box from the old man's grasp.
Davio hissed, "Payment."
"Speak with Lilith about it." As we walked away, I said. He was getting nothing from us. He'd been a thorn in our sides and had squandered far too much of our time with his games.
"Send a message to Yoongi and tell him we have everything we need." I told Taehyung.
"Let's go find ourselves some escapees." I tacked on. Taehyung and I both knew that catching the deadly sins would be simple. They needed time to build up their strength before posing a threat.
They'd be back in their cage in hell soon, and we'd be preparing for the fight of our lives. We had to win this one.
I was prepared. It was past time for us to confront Father. He'd made our lives a living hell since we were born. He had taught us everything he was aware of. But he never expected us to use those abilities to bring him down.
