Chapter 82

Lilly Pov
At times, the only thing I can see is darkness. Something was attempting to manipulate me. With each passing hour, I could feel my energy dwindling. Whatever had a grip on me was enraged. I could sense its emotions mingling with mine. It was sometimes difficult for me to distinguish between my own and the monsters. I was afraid I'd be lost soon. I was completely submerged in darkness.
We were entrapped. In some sort of magical cage. Whatever we were trapped inside was powerful. The monster inside of me was having difficulty escaping. When it happened, I was afraid that it would endanger the people I cared about. My mother is the number one target. After all, she was the one who brought us here.
I'd never felt so alone before. Useless. I had no control over my own actions. The monster's thoughts merged with mine. He told me that I would soon be forgotten, and my body would become a host for him to use as he pleased.
I just hoped my mother was aware of what was going on with me. That she had devised a plan to save me. I had no choice but to wait. I hoped to be saved before it was too late.
"No one can save you now." The voice said, followed by a shrill laugh. My stomach churned with fear. But I had to hold on to hope. That was all I had left, and without it, I'd be nothing more than a shell, easy for the monster to take over completely.
"You know, Lilly, I expected more from you. Nothing but a let-down. "Just like your mother." His words heightened my vigilance.
"Who are you? What exactly are you?" In my mind, I posed the question.
"Have you figured it out yet?" it asked back.
“No.” I hushed. All I knew was that whoever or whatever it was knew who or what I was. Somehow, but that could easily be because it has access to my mind.
"Lilly, you betrayed me. Your sole goal was to deliver me from hell. That is what you were created for. Nonetheless, you duped me. "You took my kingdom." My breath became obstructed in my throat.
“Father?” I muttered.
He burst out laughing. My body seemed to vibrate with a deep low laugh.
“Father. You attempted to assassinate me." I muttered. “You wanted to kill me.”
"That was your fate. Your blood has the power to dismantle the shield that has kept me imprisoned in hell. You were born to die, my girl. Your fate was death."
“No. Nobody is born with the fate of dying. We are created to live. You had chosen to sacrifice me for your own gain. Your greedy heart yearns for more." I responded.
"Young and naive. You will see one day. Power is everything. ““Control is power." His voice had a sharp edge to it.
"Oh, father, how could you be so cruel to your own blood?" “Love, family, and friends are powerful. It is the most powerful thing a person could ever have. But you've destroyed your family. Because of your evil heart, you were unable to make friends. You are all alone, Father. You have nothing but your own hollow heart. It must be very heavy in your chest.” I wanted to cry. But I wouldn't give him that satisfaction.
I could feel a deep seeded sadness well within me. My father had no feelings for me at all. I was nothing more than a tool to him. One he could use whenever he wanted. And an object that he could discard whenever he felt it was appropriate.
"I'll be free of this place, Lilly." My host will be you, my dear. My body is no longer alive, but my soul lives on. I'll be free of hell and able to roam the earth. You will be nothing, my girl. Your soul will be trapped and buried in the shadows. Forgotten.”
"No, I'm going to fight you." This is something I will not allow you to do." I made a vow.
"Do you think you have a choice?" he asked, laughing. I had to be tough. Defend myself against the darkness and evil thoughts that have infiltrated my being. I would make it. For the sake of those I cared about, I would make it through this ordeal alive and well. I would find a way to stop him, my father. Capture his soul for all eternity.
"You see, Lilly, even if you didn't fulfil the prophecy and your destiny. In the end, you will be remembered as the person who delivered me from hell. What an irony fate can be. It may not happen in the way I had hoped. Nonetheless, I will remain free. And with your help, my dear."
"Not with my assistance." I yelled, and he laughed. But I'd show him. I wasn't as frail as he thought. I was Lilith Archfiend, and I was going to do everything I could to stop him. I may be the Queen of Hell, but I am not like the others. I would not allow evil to contaminate my heart and soul.
I had faith in my mother. She'd come to my rescue, and the two of us would annihilate my father. I was surrounded by family and friends. People who would assist me out of love rather than fear. They weren't going to flee because they were scared. My father was alone.
