Chapter 43
How hard was it to find an ex-demon? Surly they would leave destruction and death behind them like a trail of candy. But no. Not Lilith. They were no trail, no social media, and no record of her anywhere. Scratching my head, I flicked through the phone book inside the phone box situated on the high street. Drunks and teenager fueled with drugs, stumbled, and fell as they left a night club. Screams and the high pitch squeal of laughter were getting on my last nerve. Fueled with the frustration of not being able to find the ex-mother of all demons.
Suddenly an idea came to me. The old woman. She knew things no one else new. She would know where to find the demon mother. Whistling I walked down the street, a pretty blonde girl stumbled and fell into my arms. I was ready my knife tucked into my pocket I slyly pulled it out and sunk the small blade into her side. Her eyes widened and a high pitch scream tore from her lungs. I let her drop to the floor like a sack of potatoes. It wouldn’t kill her, but the terror and pain gave me strength.
Others quickly gathered around her while I casually walked on. Inside a voice kept telling me “Eliyah stop.” But I didn’t listen I pushed the voice away. I had plenty of time to see the batty old woman and find Lilith. The others would be going to a party and wouldn’t be home while late. The idiots thought they had me trapped.

The barbecue had gone well. Bryce and Carter cleaned up while me and Taylor chatted. My siblings had left, they were going to some party and Taylor made a joke about it being some demon party with horns and pitch forks.
Suddenly her eyes lit up. “You want to go to a party. The evening is still young.”
Taylor smiled sheepishly. “Yes, the annual summer-starter party is happening tonight by the lake. We weren’t sure that you’d come, but if you’re up for a party, then why not?”
I thought about it for a moment. I knew that if I wasn’t tagging along, Kingsley would decide to stay home as well. And a part of me knew that he wanted to be there and have fun. After all, he deserves this; after pining after me and taking care of me for the past five days, trying to get me to feel better and eat well, he must be exhausted as well. A party would definitely refresh not just Kingsley, but also myself.
“You know what? Count me in.” I told her, which made an excited grin break out on her face. “Just give me thirty minutes and I’ll be ready.”
“Yes!” She squealed as she turned around and ran. She then called out to the others. “Guys! Lilly is coming with us to the party!”
I couldn’t help but giggle the excitement was contagious. As I went back upstairs, I popped my head into Kingsley’s room. He was sprawled out on the bed, using his phone. He was still wearing the same loose shirt and baggy shorts and was definitely not ready for a party.
“Why aren’t you dressed yet?” I asked him as I made my way further inside. “The guys are almost ready!”
He was staring at me with a shocked yet confused look. “What do you mean? I’m not going.”
“Yes, you are,” I replied. I threw him some dark jeans, a black shirt, and his black leather jacket and he stared at them, unsure.
“I need to concentrate on Eliyah.” He said looking at the clothes in a longing stare.
“We have tomorrow. Today lets just be normal teenagers.”
As Kingsley got up from bed and neared me, I wrapped my arms around his neck as we began making out. I could feel that he was happy and relieved that I was finally okay, and I was just as happy, knowing that I was able to pay back a little after what he’s done for me over those few days. Before the kisses got heated, a knock on the door interrupted us but somehow a familiar feeling deep in my gut aroused, as if telling me that someone else was here. It was like a sixth sense.
“Yep, what is it?” Kingsley called out, still holding on to my waist.
“Lilly’s devil siblings are here! Irene is not going to some mortal party with her sex obsessed brothers if Lilly is not going.” Carter called out and I chuckled.
“Well, what a surprise.” I commented as Kingsley, and I let go of each other and I left him to get ready for the party. Maybe that was why I had that sudden sixth sense moment; it was because my blood siblings were here.
I left the room and found them in the living room, and I was surprised that they were all dressed up as well. Irene grinned when she finally saw me after almost a week, and I pulled her in for a tight hug.
“Goodness, I’ve missed you like crazy!” Irene exclaimed and I laughed.
“I’ve missed you guys too!” I replied, and as I looked past Irene’s shoulder, Yoongi and Taehyung were standing near us, waiting for our own little reunion as well.
“How are you, baby sis?” Yoongi asked as he pulled me in for a hug and patted my head.
“I’m good, I’m good.” I replied as we quickly let go. I grinned at him and his outfit. He wore a white shirt that hugged his muscular arms perfectly and the dark jeans he wore contrasted with his pale skin. “You look good, brother.”
“That’s because we’re off to a party.” Taehyung replied for him, and I faced him. He wore his usual all-black outfit and his curly hair still lay atop his head messily. I made my way to him with a fond smile as I hugged him, to which he reciprocated without hesitation. Despite his overconfident and weird personality that I hated most of the times, I did miss hanging around with him.
“How are you, little girl?” He asked as we let go, bringing his finger underneath my chin and tilting my head up to meet his gaze. “You look like you’ve lost weight.”
I rolled my eyes at the nickname he gave me. “I’m fine, alright? I just had a major moment of my parents, but it’s all good now.”
He clicked his tongue in distaste as he scanned my face disapprovingly. Did I really lose that much weight in just five days? “Tomorrow, I’m taking you to a buffet in Seoul. You’ll need to make up for your lost appetite.”
I chuckled and nodded instead. Despite his teasing and mocking me and pissing me off, he still acted as a big brother towards me, and it was showing in his face. The look of concern and relief in his eyes when he stared at me was enough to let me know that he also cared just as much as the other two did.
“Alright, who’s ready for the party?” Taylor piped in as she entered the living room, everyone else cheering and hollering except for Taehyung and Yoongi. Irene and Bryce were already by the corner chatting to themselves, and something told me that there was something going on between them. Could it be that Irene took a liking for Bryce? Whatever it was, I’d be happy to have my sister and one of my best friends as a couple.
