Chapter 88

Lilith’s Pov
I was relieved to have Adam by my side as we neared the cell where my daughter was being confined. It crushed my heart to see her confined and caged like a terrible animal on the inside. But what else was there for me to do?
With trepidation, I led the route and eventually came to a halt outside the detention center.
“Lilly?” I made a quiet call. I was terrified that my daughter had passed away and that the demon was now all that was left of her.
“Hahhaa.” High pitched laughter, more like a cackle, could be heard echoing around the stone walls. Lilly's face appeared against the bars not long after. Her eyes were wild, and her hair was nothing more than a rat's nest of red.
“Lilith, what is wrong little bird. Why do you look so worried?” I gasped and stepped back. There was only one person who insisted on calling me little bird and that was Lucifer.
“You’ve brought your ex-husband too. How thoughtful of you.” My mind couldn’t grasp that Lucifer was speaking to me from my, our daughter’s body, with her voice. It was a hard blow to swallow, but I couldn’t let him fool me this way.
“Adam, it is Lucifer. He is the one who as possessed Lilly.” I whispered.
Again, Lucifer laughed. “I can hear you little bird.” I turned slowly to the body of my daughter; tears stung my eyes.
“Lilly is she still there?” I had to know.
“She is strong, a fighter. But eventually she will have no choice but to give up.” The bars that were holding him trapped suddenly began to melt away. I jumped back startled.
“Did you think that this cell. This place would hold me? I built it.” Lucifer sang and I closed my eyes as he took a step closer.
“Coward.” He whispered in my ear. Opening my eyes slightly it was then that I realized that Adam had fled. The first sign of danger and he had run like a scared little boy, leaving me to face the wrath of the devil himself.
“Please, let her go. Lucy she’s your daughter.” I tried to plead to his good side. But Lucifer had no redeeming qualities. His soul was black and his heart empty.
“Yes, and that makes her the perfect vessel. My body may be dead. But I live on.” He stated with a grin, and I had to look away.
“Why Lucifer? Your selfish hands are always wanting more. The one and true love in your life is power. That is all you genuinely care about, one day you will see, power is not everything. Power is nothing when you are alone. You have a hollow heart.”
“That Lilith maybe true. But I am a king, or perhaps now queen. Either way I rule hell and no one, not even my daughter will take that from me.” He stepped closer to me, and I could feel his breath on my cheek.
“And you Lilith, I thought about killing you, torturing you. Also trapping you with the black souls of hell for all eternity. But none of them seemed like a good enough punishment for you.” He took a few steps back and looked upon the face of my daughter as a wicked grin spread across her lips, I had to remind myself, they were not Lilly’s lips, nor her words, but those of Lucifer.
“I know the perfect punishment for you.” My spine was replaced my ice as my legs suddenly felt heavy.
“You will remain at the kingdom of hell indefinity Each and every day you will look upon the face of your daughter. Everyday you will be reminded of the part you played in her death. After all, you were the instigator of the attack she led against me.” It was true, I had planned schemed and done what I could to make sure that Lilly wasn’t sacrificed so that he could be free to walk the earth. Even now as he stood before me in the body of our daughter I would do it all again. Lucifer would destroy the world with his quest for power, but that wouldn’t be enough. He would want more and the heavens he would rage war upon before moving onto different plains. I couldn’t allow that. I would never allow it. While ever I held life in my body, I would fight to stop him. At all costs to myself I would do what was right.
“Now, run along little bird.” Lucifer waved his hand, and I was suddenly transported to the great hall of hell’s castle.”
Running to my chambers as fast as my legs would carry me I almost tripped but steadied myself. Soon enough I was flying through the doors to my rooms, out of breath with legs that felt like jelly. Quickly I pricked my finger, and, in my blood, I scribbled a note on a pad of paper that lay on my desk. It had to be in my blood so no other could see what I had written but those who the letter was intended for. Once the note was read it would burst into flames and destroy any evidence.
Morning Star siblings
Lilly is possessed by Lucifer. I fear that he will try to pretend to be her to gain your trust. Remember he may look like Lilly, but he is your father and he his out for revenge.
Keep safe and keep on task. You must stop the sins.
Lilith.
I had to prick myself numerous times to write the note, each time it healed. Once the note was written I placed it into an envelope and then walked to the cage where my owl waited patiently. When I opened the door, the grey owl took the letter impatiently happy to be able to fly and stretch its wings.
“Deliver to the Morning Star siblings only. No stops on the way. It is urgent.” I told the owl who flew off as the last word left my mouth. There was only one thing I could do in this situation. One place I would be safe until I figured out a plan and that was leaving hell and returning to The Vampire Academy. I had to trust that its defense was strong enough to keep Lucifer out. I would arrange a meeting with all leaders within Deathly Hollows. Together our strength will keep Lucifer at bay. After all, if Lucifer got through the barricade, then he would surlily try to take power of Deathly Hollows. It worked in all our favors.
