Chapter 45
Everyone was having fun.
The night was still young; everyone was feeling the beat to the music, drinking to their heart’s content, and singing along at the top of their voices, not caring about anyone else. But then again, everyone was having an enjoyable time, no fear. Tonight, was one of the most amazing and craziest parties I’ve been to so far, and also the most memorable one. This was my first party where my half-evil siblings came along, and they seemed to be having fun as well. Bryce and Irene were swaying to the music in the middle of the dance floor, Taehyung was surrounded by girls at one corner just near the canopy, and Yoongi, Kingsley and I were seated around the large bonfire, chatting, and keeping ourselves warm in the chilly night. I still wasn’t in the mood to drink a lot, so I only took small sips of beer I was only on my second cup for the evening. Kingsley and Yoongi didn’t feel like drinking, so the three of us found ourselves talking about high school, sharing our stories to Yoongi who never experienced high school life before. Listening to us made him want to try living a normal human life, too. You could see the curious glint in his eyes.
“So, this prom you speak of…” Yoongi began as he took a sip from his red cup, sober. “Basically, the man serenades the person whom he wants to bring as his date for this event…?”
“Yes,” Kingsley agreed.
“Isn’t high school useless though?” Yoongi thought aloud as he stared into the fire, a genuine, questioning look on his face.
“It’s useless for you, my man. Your half-evil, you don’t need to study for anything.” Kingsley replied.
“But, if you want to learn about new stuff, or dive into a specific subject, you know you can always study about it.” I quickly added, not wanting Yoongi to be discouraged from going back to school. I mean, he can always try. After Kingsley and I were telling him stories about high school, both the fun and boring ones, I could still see the interest in his eyes.
“You know what, I think I’ll pass.” Yoongi replied. “I’d probably end up debating with a teacher, arguing with them over the history of the Salem Witch Trials.”
I laughed and Kingsley could only stare, dumbfounded and slightly surprised at the random yet specific topic Yoongi decided to speak of.
“Witches…” Kingsley trailed off. “Are they real, Yoongi?”
Before Yoongi could reply, a loud, high-pitched scream could be heard in the lake and we all turned around, surprised at the sudden sound. Even everyone on the dance floor had heard it despite the loud, blaring music that continued to play through the huge speakers.
“What happened?” Kingsley asked, springing to action as he quickly left his seat in between Yoongi and I and headed to the direction of the water. Bryce, and Carter emerged from where they previously were and followed Kingsley. I quickly dropped my cup and followed behind them, ignoring Yoongi’s calls.
We made our way through the slowly growing crowd by the shore and Bryce made way for all of us, until the four of us stood in front of a girl, choking out water from her lungs as her wet clothes clung to her shivering body.

Wiping my mouth on the old rag of a nightdress I could feel the twitch of a smile emerging. Simon was going to pay for locking me up. Caging me. Didn’t he know who he was dealing with? I looked down at the boy. Young and naive. One of Lucifers puppets. I didn’t kill him. I just took enough blood to give me the strength I needed to get out of the dam dungeon I’d been trapped in. Simon may have caught me off guard once. But he wouldn’t again. With super speed I was out of the house of horrors and on the long private road that only allowed access to the rich residents that lived there.
I needed more blood. As I walked down the road, I could hear music blaring. The sweet scent of blood mixed with alcohol and sweat insulted my senses. A party. With a grin I ran towards the noise. Laying in wait a young girl strayed away from the gathering. Without a second thought I pounced on her. Once I’d had my fill, I tossed her into the water and walked away satisfied that I now had the strength I needed.
But before I could fight, I needed to change. I would be the Lilith I always was and everyone and anyone that got in my way would pay the price. Those that had wronged me while I was trying to live as a human would find my sweet revenge. Starting with Simon. I thought about taking his son’s life. But that would be pointless the heartless bastard didn’t love or care for anything but himself.
I’d play with him. Make him go mad before putting an end to his miserable existence.
I am free and vengeance will be mine.

“What happened?” Bryce asked as he neared the girl, kneeling in front of her and checking her body for any signs of injuries or wounds. I stepped behind Bryce and checked, but there was none.
“It was so sudden,” a boy replied from the crowd. We looked up and he neared us, kneeling in front of the girl opposite to Bryce. “We were swimming and then the next thing she was just there.”
My heart stopped when he said it.
“I tried to help her, but she was kept being pulled down in the water and when I finally got a hold of her and tried swimming back to shore, it felt like someone, or something was trying to pull her back down.” The boy added, and despite the darkness that surrounded us, I could still see the fright in his eyes when he said it. My blood ran cold as several thoughts went over my head, thinking of the possibilities that could have caused it.
“Oh my gosh, Bryce, her neck!” Taylor exclaimed from behind us. I watched to where she was pointing and saw that the girl’s neck had two puncher wounds and blood was trickling out. Then I noticed several deep scratch marks imprinted against her skin and the blood was oozing out terribly.
