Chapter 17.
Alisons POV

I walk in and see Emily hooked up to all these machines and I feel tears pour down my face, my whole body goes numb as I go to her subconsciously climbing in bed wrapping myself around her and just cry.

This small beautiful girl I’ve grown up with is in such bad condition I can bearly recognize her. Valerie moves to put her hand on me as I feel the Alpha leave the room, I lay on Emily crying as I hate myself for leaving her that night. We should have never split up, it was so stupid of me.

I cry harder as the door opens again and a doctor walks in.
“Hello Luna, I need to take your friend to surgery now if you don’t mind.” He says in a soft sweet voice.
“Surgery?” I ask shocked. “For what?”
“Well Luna, Emily has quite the bleed coming from her spleen, as well as a collapsed lung.” He says looking down to his hands, why is he acting so weird? I think to myself.
“We need to remove her spleen.” He says looking back up between me and Valerie, I nod slowly getting out of Emily’s bed going to sit with Valerie. Two nurses come in to take Emily away as I just sit there lost in thought staring at the floor.

Valerie grabs me pulling me to her as I start to cry again.
“It will be ok.” She says softly rubbing my shoulders.
“We have really good doctors in the pack and she will heal from this, it will take time but we will all help her heal.” She reassures me, the door opens and Alpha Evans walks in.

“I’ve called a board member to come in and report the situation, both of you should go get some food. Valerie go for a run please you weren’t in your wolf form for very long today, you can take Alison with you just be carful and stay close to the pack please. I don’t need anything happening tonight.” He says as Valerie nods standing to offer me her hand. We walk out of the medic centre as Valerie makes a call.

“Hey! Luna and I will be coming down in a half hour, can you please make something for us to eat before we go back to see the doctor?” she asks sweetly before saying thank you and hanging up.

Valerie decides we should stay in the court yard obviously she would rather run through the woods but the Alpha is right it’s not safe out right now and it’s better to not take a chance. Once we start the investigation Alpha Romeo is going to retaliate and god knows what he’ll do.

Valerie shifts in to this huge reddish brown wolf again, her colours are beautiful. Her paws and snout are darker then the rest of her body, she sits still allowing me to walk around her touching her as she nuzzles her head in to my hands like a big puppy. She gets up and takes off across the court yard diving behind one of the stone benches as she wags her tail inviting me to play.

I sprint after her as she summer salts across the ground landing with her huge tongue hanging out she gets up pouncing towards me as I duck and she falls just behind me making me giggle. We continue bouncing around the court yard chasing one another around before Valerie changes back and I hand her the robe she brought with her.
“I’m starving now.” She says flipping her hair back tieing her robe in the front while I stand in front of her trying to catch my breath.
“Let’s go eat!” She says sprinting off to the pack house as I take off after her using all the energy I have left.

We get in to the kitchen as one of the cooks is setting down a huge bowl of pasta and garlic bread, Valerie and I both sit down eating quickly without talking.
“I’m glad you like it.” The cook says giggling bringing over two glasses of juice as Valerie and I look at one another realizing what animals we’re acting like as we both burst out laughing.
“Thank you!” I manage to get out while swallowing hard.
“No problem Luna.” She responds with a big smile.

After we finish Valerie and I decide to run upstairs to get changed before going back to check on Emily. I take a quick shower, and throw on a comfy pair of pyjama pants and a baggy long sleeve. I step out my bedroom door as Valerie is standing waiting for me.
“Ready?” She asks.
“Mhm.” I nod linking arms with her.

Emily is out of surgery by the time we get back, the doctor said she coded twice on the table and they had to revive her. It’s going to be a long recovery but he’s hopeful she should pull through. Valerie and I sit beside Emily’s bed waiting for her to wake up when Alpha Evans walks in to the room with a short older looking man.

“Alison could you come outside please?” Evan says looking over to me, I get up turning back to look at Valerie as I step outside the door.
“What’s up?” I ask closing the door behind me softly.
“This is board member Oliver.” Evan says motioning towards the little man as I extend my hand to him.

“He will be the one documenting and reporting the case, this way they can start an investigation to build a case against Alpha Romeo.” He states.
“Oliver has Emily’s medical file from doctor Blair and he has a few questions for you.” He says softly as I nod my head, he gently squeezes my shoulder leaving me alone with the little man.

“I’m so sorry for what your going through Luna.” He says calmly.
“We don’t condone Alpha’s abusing their pack under any circumstances, unfortunately everyone is to scared to go after Alpha Romeo due to the numbers of his pack and the support he had through his father, all except Alpha Evans.” He says as I continue nodding listening to his soft raspy voice.

“Anyways, can you tell me how long Emily was in Alpha Romeo’s pack?” He asks
“We were taken almost a month ago, I ended up here and Emily was taken to Alpha Romeo.” I state rubbing my fingers together.

“Ok so by your knowledge she was there for almost a month, did she ever try to contact you?” He asks as i shake my head.
“No I haven’t spoken to her since the night we split up in the woods on the wolfs moon” I respond softly.
“Ok, we will have her speak with our therapist as well and see what she says when she’s awake, Luna this will be a hard road for her. Healing from something this brutal takes a lot of time.” He says as he gives me a small nod turning to walk away. I take a deep breath before going back to Emily.

I walk in as Emily turns to look at me and Valerie smiles.
“Hey, Alison.” She says softly as I can’t control my tears from spilling, I walk over climbing in to bed with her as I keep sobbing.
“What happened?” She asks as her voice scratches and I sniffle trying to control my emotions.

“Alpha Evan went to get you last night from Alpha Romeo.” Valerie starts.
“You were unconscious when he got you, he carried you in to medics and I stayed with you till you went in to surgery.” She says slowly.
“Emily what happened to you?” I manage to ask as she turns to me and lets out a loud sigh.
