Chapter 45.
Evans POV

I wake before Alison, she looks so beautiful laying in bed all snuggled up in our blankets. Her messy hair spread across her face, I gently push it out of her face kissing her forehead before getting dressed to start my day.

I check out the home office the girls set up before heading to my office, I walk in and see the records to the pack across her table and that’s when I see it. Emmett’s birth certificate. I hold it in my hands looking over the information, he is my uncle, my father had a brother. I wonder if my dad ever knew? Emmett grew up in a home with just a mother, having Alpha blood run through his veins.

Alpha blood is stronger then a normal wolf we were made to lead, we are stronger wolves with a desire to be the best. He was stuck as a warrior, his wolf must have tormented him for years for being a mistake. His wolf would have had the drive as any other Alpha family member would, I lay my head in my hands at her desk as I think about how that must have been for him.

I finally leave to go to my office to find Joel already in there.
“Hello Alpha I’ve been waiting for you, I need you to sign off on this weeks guard rotation.” He states handing me the clip board when my mind goes back to the connections Alison was making with rogue attacks.
“Ok leave them on my desk so I can look over them.” I say as he sets them down and leaves my office.

I call Lorenzo, with everything going on I really don’t know which of my men I can trust.
“Hello.” Lorenzo answers.
“Hello Alpha, I think I have a bit of a situation, is there any way you can leave your beta in charge and come stay here for a week or so?” I ask calmly unsure of his response.
“Of coarse I can, I will get everything lined up and be on my way tonight, can I ask what the situation is?” He asks as I sigh deeply in relief.
“I think I have a traitor in the pack, we’ll talk more when you’re here.” I answer.
“Ok I’ll see you soon.” He finishes before I hear the phone click and our conversation is done.

I look over the guard rotation and decide we’re going to change it each day, Lorenzo and I will give guards 24 hours notice of their shift and no one will have the rotation records except us. Next I need to give Valerie a job, I mind link her to meet me in my office.

Valerie comes in with homemade waffles and sets them on my desk.
“You called for me Alpha?” She says sweetly.
“Yes have you seen Luna yet?” I ask as she nods quickly.
“Yes I just dropped off her waffles she’s eating and getting in the shower, then we were going to return to going over the records.” She says as I take a bite of the waffles covered in raspberries and whip cream.

“Ok well Alison found something in the guard rotation, we think we have a mole among us. Alpha Lorenzo is coming tonight and will be staying a week, please have the guest house cleaned and set up for him. Do not tell anyone what we talk about ok?” I say as her eyes widen and she nods quickly.
“I need you to try and sense the pack members, check everyone out without being obvious. Let me know if you see or feel anything weird.” I say and she nods again.
“Yes Alpha, is there anything else?” She says.
“No that’s all, thank you Valerie I really appreciate it.” I finish as she smiles and closes my door behind her.

I rest my head on my hand as my brain spins with everything that’s going on, I need a run Quinn is going nuts being cooped up. I decide I should probably take Quinn out before Alpha Lorenzo gets here and we get to work. Oh goddess I have to call Oliver as well I say to myself as I drag my heavy body outside to shift.

I inhale the intoxicating smell of the forest as my heart pounds with the movement of the wind, I feel sparks fly across my body as I lift my head inhaling again hard I let out a refreshed howl and take off. The wind rush’s through my fur as my paws stomp in to the wet dirt beneath me, the smell of grass and wet leaves consumes me and my mind clears.

I reach my small crystal pond as I launch myself in to the air landing in the water making a loud splashing sound echo through the woods. I tread through the water, gliding effortlessly as small fish swim below me. I dive below snapping at them till I catch one in my teeth popping back up to head to shore with my fresh catch. I let Quinn crunch it down and give him control as he continues to prance and trot through the grass.

Laying in the sun I soak up the warmth as I hear small birds chirp and sing flying around above me their wings making loud whooshing noises. I enjoy my run letting Quinn out always makes me feel better, releasing all the pent up energy I’ve been holding on to for days. I head back to the pack house when something feels weird, the air gets thick and cold and Quinn demands we run.

I take off through the forest as branches slap along me and my senses sky rocket picking up every sound around me, I cross the pack lines and the feeling lifts as Quinn settles.
“What was that?” I ask him as he still slowly paces in my mind while I keep running.
“I’m not sure but it definitely didn’t feel safe.” He responds.
“I agree, let’s get back and talk to Lorenzo about it when he gets here.” I tell him as he lowers his head subsiding and I shift reaching the house.

I walk in as Alison and Valerie sit in the kitchen eating ice cream from the container.
“Has Lorenzo shown up yet?” I ask grabbing a spoon.
“Yes actually he’s in the guest house putting his stuff away.” Valerie says taking another bite.
“Ok perfect” I say as Alison looks up to me and I smile.
“How was your day?” She says softly as I sit beside her.
“It was alright something strange happened in the forest when I was on my run, but we’ll talk about that later let’s finish our snack and meet in the home office with Lorenzo.” I say as they both smile at me and we all finish eating the ice cream together.

I leave the girls to tidy up while I go to the home office, I call for Lorenzo to meet us and I lay my head back on the chair to wait.

“Come in!” I call as there’s a knock on my door and Lorenzo comes barreling in.
“Cousin! Good to see you.” He says pulling me in to a big hug.
“Ah yes you too Lorenzo!” I say as we let go moving to sit at the horseshoe table.

“So where is your beautiful mate?” He asks just as the door opens and in comes Valerie and Alison right on cue.
“We’ll speak of the devil.” He says chuckling as the lady’s both take a seat greeting Lorenzo.
“Is this everyone that’s coming?” He asks as I start pulling out the documents Alison has been putting together.
“Yes, we don’t know who the mole is so currently this is all I can trust.” I respond as Valerie pipes in.

“Actually I told Parker to meet us, him being my mate I fully feel everything from him so I know he’s not betraying us, I also had a chance to check some of the cooks.” She says as I nod approving.
“I guess we are waiting for Parker.” I say to Lorenzo as his confusion wafts off him.
“What does she mean by check out?” Lorenzo asks looking to Valerie.
“I have premonitions, I can see things others can’t and I can feel vibes that others don’t.” She says softly waiting for his response as Lorenzo turns to me eyes wide.
