Chapter 77.
Evans POV
I wake up the next morning with my head on Alison’s hospital bed as her fingers tangle through my hair, I gently move my head to look up at her when I see her eyes flicker open.
“What happened?” Her small scratchy voice asks as I sit up confused.
“You don’t remember?” I ask as she looks up to me having no clue what in talking about.
“You fainted, you’ve been dehydrated and pushing yourself to hard.” I answer as she looks away.
“Do you not remember waking up last night?” I ask softly as she shakes her head.
It could be from the exhaustion, she wasn’t awake very long last night so maybe she was tired. I’ll talk to Blair about it to make sure it’s nothing more.
“Do you want me to get you something to eat?” I ask softly and she nods while rolling over and I smile at her before leaving to the kitchen.
“I’ll be back in a few minutes.” I say stepping through the door.
I go to the kitchen making oat meal with fresh strawberry’s and raspberry’s before grabbing a bottle of juice an heading back to the medic centre, I run in to doctor Blair on my way back just as he’s showing up for work. I talk to him for a few minutes about Alison’s memory issues from last night, he confirms its more then likely just from her exhaustion. He lets me know her tests all come back good and he plans to release her in a few hours, just in time for the tournament.
I walk back in to the Alpha wing as Alison I sitting up putting her clothes back on, I set her oatmeal on the table as she smiles at me while finishing getting dressed.
“Blair says you can leave in time for the tournament, you will need to be eating and drinking a lot more to sustain the baby’s.” I say softly as she takes the juice chugging it back before nodding.
She finishes eating while we wait for Blair to come back and discharge her, Emily comes in one last time to take her blood pressure before we go.
“What about Ethster?” Emily says giggling.
“I’ve always loved that name for a girl.” She says as Alison looks up to her smiling happily.
“I know, we’ve talked about you’re names since we were children.” Alison responds laughing as Blair comes in handing the paper work to me and we begin getting ready to leave.
“The tournament starts soon.” I whisper to Alison as she nods and we head out.
We walk up the stair in the arena to the balcony as people begin to pile in and fill the bleachers. Soon the crowd is filled with cheering wolves, Parker walks out to the middle of the arena silencing the everyone before he speaks.
“Thank you all for coming today, we have 12 contestants competing from different packs. You have all been paired up based on rank, the winner from each fight moves on to the next round where you will be paired with a new opponent.” His voice echos through the air while everyone listens attentively.
“The contestants have been given their order and we are ready to start, first up is Clayton Bow from the Clear Water pack versus Nick Small from the Red Moon pack. You have 5 minutes to prepare, then we will see you in the ring.” Parker calls before turning to join us for the battle.
After a few minutes both men enter the fighting ring and stand at either side, I stand rising my hand to quiet the wolves.
“IS EVERYONE READY!” I call loudly as they burst in to applause and howls.
“THEN WE BEGIN!” I yell and the two men circle each other, the first round will be done in human form.
Clayton makes the first move as Nick counters throwing him off, as he stumbles Nick takes that chance to make his move. He grabs Clayton quickly spinning as he tosses him through the air and his body lands to the ground with a thud. He springs from the dirt as Nick crouches waiting for the next attack, Clayton lunges forward this time grabbing Nick by the throat slamming him to the ground.
The fight continues back and forth for a few minutes before Nick submits and the first pair is over, Clayton being the winner. I stand quieting the crowd again as I speak.
“Winner of the first round Clayton from the Clear Water pack, next up is Bentley stone of the dark water pack versus Eli Christopher of the Mountain Hill pack.” I bellow as they enter the ring next.
This fight goes a lot quicker Eli is no match for Bentley, it almost seems like Bentleys having fun playing before taking Eli out with little effort. I finish the fight and call in the next two opponents, Blanch Roamer from the Dark Rain pack up against Mark Valai from the Moon Stone pack.
This fight lasts a bit longer as the men are pretty evenly matched, they both tire out after an intense battle. Finally Blanch over takes the fight winning the first round. Next up is Sloan River of the dark Water pack against Konnor Fletch from the clear Water pack, Sloan over takes the battle after out smarting her opponent a pose to brute strength. She could be really interesting to see in an actual fight, she seems to move a lot like Valerie when she trains.
Our next opponents are Klep Ryan from Mountain Hill pack versus Brandon Marsh of the Moon Stone pack, aggressively charging Brandon lands on top of Klep pinning him to the ground with his arm behind his back as his shrieks fill the air and I end the fight declaring Brandon the winner.
Our last pair is Ace Belcom of our pack against Spencer Black of the Dark Rain pack, Spencer comes out victorious in this fight concluding todays events. I stand as everyone’s eyes land on me waiting for my command.
“Today’s tournament was very successful, I thank all of our competitors today and wish the ones moving forward to the next round the best of luck. Today’s winners are,
Clayton Bow of the Clear Water pack.
Bentley Stone of the Dark Water pack.
Blanch Roamer of the Dark Rain pack.
Sloan River of the Clear Water pack.
Brandon Marsh of the Moon Stone pack.
And finally Spencer Black of the Dark Rain pack.
I will see you 6 in the morning to go over the opponent list.” I say dismissing everyone.
The arena clears as Parker and Valerie come up to us, I stand helping Alison up as Valerie rushes over to take over.
“Well that went well.” Parker states as the girls start their way out and we follow behind.
“Hopefully tomorrow will go the same if not better, we’re almost there. It’s been to long without a beta.” I say as we walk to our house to have dinner before. Resting up for tomorrow.
