Chapter 75.
Alisons POV
Tomorrow is the beta ceremony and it will be nice to have some help around here, I don’t want to rely on Valerie and Parker throughout my pregnancy as much. I feel bad, Valerie never wanted beta yet her she is taking on beta duty’s with her mate. Her and Parker have been taking on so much since Marco died and I’m truly grateful, but its time for them to get their lives back too.
I walk down to the kitchen as the house is empty, Evan probably already took Salem to school. Since finding out I’m pregnant I’ve been staying in bed lot more seeing as I always feel so tired. But I guess that’s to be expected with two little leaches growing inside of me stealing all my energy, goddess why is pregnancy so hard.
I sit down at the table putting my head down as I wait for the nausea to pass.
“Can I get you anything Luna?” One of the servers asks startling me as she walks in with bags of food.
“Not yet, I’m just trying to figure out what I want.” I answer giggling as she smiles.
“The sickness will get better in a few weeks, I remember when I was pregnant I couldn’t eat anything till the second trimester. I’ll bring some crackers up to your room later, eat a few before you get out of bed in the morning. It helps.” She says winking at me before turning to put the shopping away.
“Could you make me some soup?” I ask softly. “It seems to be the only thing I can keep down right now.” I say as she nods pulling out the stuff she’ll need.
“And grilled cheese?” She says smiling over to me and I quickly nod, she begins cooking as the amazing smell fills the room.
I guess I fell asleep with my head laying on the table because I’m woken up to the server touches my shoulder placing my food down in front of me. I smile softly thanking her as she goes to leave the room.
“Is there anything else you need before I leave?” She asks as I shake my head filling my face with the delicious soup.
“No thank you, you’ve been very helpful.” I say as she leaves giving me a small smile and I’m left to eat alone.
I flinch as a sharp pain shoots through my lower stomach making me wince, Valerie walks in just as it starts to pass and I continue eating.
“Are you ok?” She asks with concern coming over to me.
“Yes, Blair said its just stretching pains as the baby’s prepare to grow.” I answer trying to finish my food so I can try walking around a bit, it normally helps.
“Ok well do you want to go to the court yard? It’s nice out.” She asks as I stand to put my dish’s away.
“I was actually going to go to the arena and see how set up is going for tomorrow.” I say going to walk out as Valerie runs behind me.
“Ok well I’ll come with you.” She states joining me on my walk.
“Have you had any more visions? Or hear from Griselda yet?” I ask as we walk down the path.
“She came to me last night and said she wants to meet next week, she told me I’d know when.” She says softly looking to her hands.
“How do you feel about meeting her?” I ask as she links her arms to mine and we take our time strolling long.
“Alright actually, I mean finding out the man who raised me is biologically my uncle threw me for a bit of a twist. But he was the parent I had and he was amazing to me, at first I was excited to meet her but now I think I’m happy just knowing who she is even if I don’t get to know her.” She says in a conflicting manner making me giggle.
“Well I understand that, I always wanted to meet my parents when I was a child, I used to fantasize about who they could be or what they would look like. Now that I’m an adult I don’t really think about them anymore and I’m just content with the life I have.” I respond as she nods.
“I honestly can’t really imagine even having her in my life.” She responds softly as we reach the arena.
There is a huge banner hung across the entrance labeled “BETA TOURNAMENT” for everyone to see upon arrival. Walking inside the bleachers have all been pulled out so they are able to have all the joining packs watch the battle.
I find Evan standing in the middle of the arena with Parker, we walk over to them as they are chatting away about contestants coming tonight.
“Hey ladies how are you?” Evan asks turning to us.
“We’re good!” Valerie exclaims throwing herself on to Parker as he catches her spinning around.
“You weren’t in bed this morning.” I whisper to Evan as Valerie and Parker get lost in their own world.
“I’m sorry, there’s a lot to do before the packs begin to arrive this afternoon.” He answers as I nuzzle in to him and he groans wrapping his arms around me and my body instantly relaxes.
“Do you want to go outside and make sure everything’s set up, the packs should be arriving soon.” He says softly leaning down to kiss me as I look up to him.
“What time is it!” I ask in shock realizing I haven’t looked at clock since I woke up.
“It’s 4pm, people will start showing up around 5.” He states chuckling and I roll my eyes as we walk hand in hand out to the court yard.
Going outside I see the temp tents set up in the field, there are 10 wolves setting up the last few tents as Evan walks over to help and I check on the servers. The tables are all set up for dinner tonight, everyone is running around getting food on to tables and it’s a chaotic mess I just can’t handle it right now.
I walk over to the gardens as I see the first few cars start to show up, I walk over to greet everyone as I go to mind link Evan to come join me. I recognize a few of the Alphas from the other events we’ve held here, my mind goes hazy as everything begins to blur.
“I think I need to go sit down.” I say softly to Evan as he helps me over to the stone benches.
I stay seated for a while watching Evan enter everyone in to the pack, my stomach turns and I feel sick. I try mind linking Valerie but everything starts to go black and I struggle to find my senses. I hear someone call my name, I can’t feel anything or see anything but I can hear everyone around me panicking.
I hear Evan call for doctor Blair as my body feels numb and I can’t even tell if I’m breathing, everything starts to tingle and my mind starts to fade and I fight it as long as I can before the darkness consumes me and I’m floating in the unknown.
