Chapter 9.
Alisons POV

We wake the next morning snuggling under the blankets as the sun pours in. I feel Evan tighten his arms around me, his skin smells like burning hazelnuts. His scent fills my body warming my soul as he nuzzled his face in to my hair.
“We should get up.” He says softly.
“I know.” I respond.
“I just don’t want to do anything yet. Your just to cozy.” I say before rolling over in to him closer.

We lay together holding one another for a few more minutes before I groan getting up to start my day.
“What’s your plan today?” I ask him softly
“Well, I’m going to get a group together to scout Alpha Romeo’s pack and see if I can find anything out about Emily, I have a few other things I have to attend to as well.” He states.

“You can hang out with Valerie she will make sure no one bugs you until the Luna ceremony.” He says softly as I nod and pull on a bright pink romper while he comes up behind me slapping my ass. We both finish getting ready and part ways for our day kissing before heading out.

I meet Valerie in the kitchen as she’s buttering a muffin sitting at the counter.
“Hey girl!” She smiles brightly. “What do you want to do today?” She asks taking a seat at the bench.
“Umm, do you guys have a library that we can check out?” I say softly while going to the fridge to grab some juice. “I really like to read.” I giggle sipping my drink.

“Yeah, sure we can go down after breakfast.” She says stuffing her muffin in her mouth as I grab one and start eating it. The door opens and in walks Melissa with a big ass smile on her face.
“Well well well, look who it is.” She says in a sarcastic voice, as I look down at my muffin ignoring her existence.

“Back off Melissa you heard what the Alpha said, I can mind link him in seconds and show him how your behaving, disrespecting him as well as the mate bond I’m sure he won’t be impressed.” Valerie says in a snarky tone as Melissa’s face drops.
“What ever Valerie we all know your just as obsessed with the Alpha so I don’t know why you bother hiding it.” She says in a bitchy tone back.

“I’ve never been anything but loyal to my Alpha thank you, you on the other hand think you can disrespect him just because you’ve been in his bed.” Valerie responds calmly as I see her eyes gloss over.
“He loves me!” She screams back at Valerie looking towards me.
“Your just a toy, he’ll be done with you soon little girl, and when he is I’ll be Luna just like we planned.” She says as her words cut through me like knives, why did that hurt so much. She gets right in my face as the kitchen door slams open and two huge men come in.

“Melissa!” One man demands in a loud voice. “The Alpha would like to speak with you.”
Melissa try’s to keep up her confidence thinking the Alpha wants to see her for a positive reason, but Valerie shoots me a look that makes me realize better. The room clears quickly as Valerie and I now sit alone to finish eating.

“What did you do?” I asked her.
“Well, everyone in the pack can mind link with the Alpha, strong wolves can link each other but mostly just the Alpha.” She pauses leaning closer to me. “I have premonitions. I don’t know if it’s because we never knew much about my family, but I get small clips of the future and past at random times or even in dreams.” She says softly. “So when I mind link with Evan I can show him what I see through my eyes, when Melissa started yelling at us I mind linked him to let him see what was happening.” She says shrugging with a small smile.

“How long have you been able to do that for?” I ask curiously.
“I’m not sure when it started, I guess ever since I was little I was able to focus my mind to see things others couldn’t, it’s annoying sometimes.” She says with a shrug as we clean up our dish’s.

When we’re done she takes me to the library as I beam with joy.
“Have you ever thought of looking for your parents? Or ever Atleast finding out about your family?” I ask her curiously.
“Have you?” She asks with a smile. “The last Alpha said my parents wanted a clean get away, to cut all ties to the pack and I guess that means me too, I never bothered looking for them. I just accepted this was my place serving the Alpha.” As her smile fades and I begin to feel sad.

“Hey Atleast your parents left you some where safe.” I laugh. “Mine left me on the side of the road.” She looks up chuckling.
“What did you want to find?” She asks as she starts looking through the shelves of books.

“I want to learn about the pack, the history, legends, alphas anything we can find.” I say as she tilts her head raising her eye brows to me.
“Can I ask why?” She says sweetly.
“Well if I’m going to be Luna I’d like to know what I’m getting in to and learn about the way your society works.” I say as she nods excitedly. “That’s actually a great idea!” she says with excitement as we begin our search.

After what feels like hours we have found multiple books to go through, we collect all the books in a pile and make our way back to the pack house, we agree to meet in the morning in my room to start going through the history, maybe I can find some info on Alpha Romeo’s pack as well I think to myself as we walk back.

When we get back to the pack house she helps me bring the books up to my room.
“These are damn heavy.” She says as I laugh back at her trying to catch my breath after all those stairs. We toss the books on the desk in the corner as we hear a scream come from the hallway, Valerie peeks out the door as I sit on the bed watching her.

“That stupid bitch!” I hear a girl yell as Valerie quickly closes the door.
“Melissa looks like she packing.” She says turning to me jumping on to my bed. My hand goes to my mouth.
“Oh no.” I say. “Why?” I ask nervously knowing it’s because of me.

“Well Alpha Evans made it pretty clear if she didn’t leave you alone he would banish her.” She says shrugging.
“I didn’t think he was serious!” I say back in shock.
“Oh the Alpha is always serious, especially when it comes to a pack law even if it’s an unspoken one. The mate bond is sacred and Alpha Evans prides himself in the pack being proper, no one rejects their mates, and mates are treated fairly and equally. Melissa can’t respect that she can’t be apart of the pack.” She says calmly as if this is the most normal thing.

Alpha Evans walks in as Valerie stands looking to the floor placing her hands behind her back.
“I’m sorry Alpha.” Valerie starts when Evan cuts her off.
“Nothing to be sorry for Valerie you did good you protected Alison which was the job I gave you. If Melissa can’t get over her petty jealousy then she’s not a loyal member of this pack and can’t be trusted, I’ve informed her she has 24 hours to pack her things and leave the pack lands, otherwise she’s a rogue and will be killed on the spot.” He finish’s as there’s another loud bang.
“I will leave you now Alpha” Valerie says sweetly.
“Thank you.” He responds dismissing her.
