Chapter 54.
Evans POV

I wake up at 3 am to my alarm, I needed a few hours of sleep before the battle. The girls have been up all night training and we now have a location for Emmett, Alison lays beside me sleeping soundly as her soft little face twitches to my movements of me getting out of bed.

I toss on a pair of shorts before taking off for a run, I make it quick as I need to meet with Lorenzo and our warriors before we leave. I shower fast and head to the kitchen grabbing some breakfast as Lorenzo walks in behind me.
“Do you want some eggs and toast?” I ask him as he sits at the bar and nods my way. I cook up our food as we discuss final arrangements.

“I will send 30 of my men in first then your witches right behind them to hide them with their shield, next 30 more men. Hopefully they are able to be masked by the shield as well, that should give us a good advantage.” Lorenzo says and I nod agreeing.
“I really appreciate all your help this last month.” I say as I finish my food and he chuckles.
“I told you I won’t let anyone hurt my family.” He states as he takes his last bite and he places his dish in the sink with mine.

We meet our men in the area a by 4:30 Lorenzo fills them in on the game plan and I go to wake up Alison, we only need Stella and the twins for the battle, Valerie will stay to help Alison handle the pack. After making sure the girls are prepared for the day I quickly kiss my mate goodbye before heading out with my men.

We found out Emmett is stationed just outside the pack grounds, he has multiple underground hide outs and thanks to the girls we now know where his main one is. Once we are a few minutes from where he’s hiding we get in to position. I quickly shift in to my wolf and join Lorenzo in the front as the twins connect their powers to one another.

We all sit quietly lined beside each other ready to attack, the girls finally connect and Stella begins to force her shield over us hiding the group from prying eyes. We reach the entrance of the hide out as it’s guarded by 2 shady looking wolves, we stand directly in front of them and they look passed us not even noticing us. Lorenzo kills one while I kill the other and we’re ready to find our target, I guess our shield is working.

We reach a big dug out room filled with wolves, At least a few hundred all talking and eating as we stand silently watching without catching their attention and I mind link my men. “We attack at the same time kill as many as you can, as quickly as you can.” I say as everyone confirms and we get started.

Blood sprays and body parts fly through the air as growls and screams erupt all around us, the girls manage to hold the shield until we take out half of the rogues which happened within minutes. It was a massacre we were able to kill without being seen, so we took a lot less injuries then the rogues.

The shield shrinks back just covering the witches as my men all start to become visible and the battle breaks out harder then before and the girls retreat. Lorenzo and I slam our way through the wolves looking for Emmett.

My men get to quick work slaughtering the rogues as we check each area in the underground hide. Lorenzo covers me as I continue searching for him not even able to pick up his scent, I let out a frustrated loud howl as I’m suddenly tackled to the ground and I realize Lorenzo’s pinned by two other wolves.

A dark grey paw comes down on my face and I realize it’s Emmett, rage burns through me as I lunge at his front paws nipping his heal as he stumbles back. Lifting his paw he looks up to me, his jet black eyes lock with mine and he forces himself forward, I grab his shoulder and he comes short falling in front of me. Even giving his wolf full control doesn’t mean he’ll stand a chance against me when I hold the power of the pack.

I slam my paw on his throat squeezing him against the ground till he submits shifting back and I join him.
“I guess you found out the truth. Didn’t you nephew?” He spits as blood drops from his mouth while he lays in a heap on the dirt ground.
“I did. Now I’m here to end it.” I respond landing a kick on his stomach and Lorenzo comes up behind me.
“You killed my pup Emmett!” I yell as my foot spreads across his jaw making bloody spit and teeth fly.

“I, I wasn’t willing to have a child fight me for my title.” He stutters trying to catch his breath and I can’t help but laugh at this pathetic wolf on the floor.
“You have no title, and your not entitled to the Alpha throne anyways! You’re nothing but a dirty rogue.” I spit back as rage seethes through my voice.
“Oh dear boy, but you see I am. I have Alpha blood just like you.” He says as if that means something to me. His cocky voice pushing me passed anger as my wolf shines through.
“MY pack will NEVER accept a pathetic half blood.” I say with rage.

Out of no where blue and white smoke fills the room and we’re blinded unable to defend ourselves. My eyes burn and I choke as we all look around stunned as to what just happened, who did that?

I howl in retreat to tell my men to get out as I shift quickly heading for the exit. We wait outside the hide till the smoke dissipates down when we’re able to go back in, I never seen Emmett leave so he must still be stuck down there with what ever rogues are still alive.

I pace back and forth outside the entrance as my frustration grows, I had him, I could have killed him and I didn’t. How the hell does he keep getting his wolves to fall back without command? How did he just cause a force of smoke to push us from the hide out? My head spins as I continue to pace and the smoke begins to clear.

We charge back in throwing the door open to see wolves laying across the ground, dead or bleeding rogues piled on top of one another. My eyes scan the room as I become frantic unable to find Emmett, as if he vanished with the smoke. Where the hell did he go this time? Quinn howls loudly in frustration as I shift back to talk to Lorenzo.

“Where is he!” I yell as Lorenzo stands still in front of me thinking.
“We had him right here, this was almost over!” I continue as anger pours through my aura and my wolves automatically bow down.
“Evan we need to get back to the pack!” Lorenzo says quickly as panic sets in and realization hits.
“Alison.” I say as we both shift back quickly taking off back towards our land as I try to force my mind link to reach Valerie and warn her.
