Chapter 39.
Alisons POV

I sit against the cold wet wall as I try to wrap my mind around everything that is going on, I’ve been kidnapped by Emmett and am now I’m being held in some underground grungy hide out. God it’s gross in here, he’s been gone for about an hour now and I’m beginning to get cold. I spent half that time fighting the door with no luck, I think I’m alone though, I haven’t heard anyone since Emmett left. Why would he leave me alone unguarded?

My mind spins in circles as flash’s of Evan and Emily flow in, Valerie and Parker, my pack and Salem. It’s overwhelming as warm loving comfort wash’s over me and suddenly I realize it’s Valerie trying to force a connection. I focus hard to open my mind link to let her see where I am, somethings blocking it so I try to push back through her connection. Being human does make the mind link a bit harder to control, it’s easy when a pack member links me but when I try to start the link it doesn’t always work, I’m still learning so it’s harder on me then it is on a wolf.

It takes a few minutes of forcing my mind through the block but I’m able to finally reach her.

*I grab Valerie’s hands as her eyes shoot open.
“Luna!” She shouts as I hug her quickly.
“Luna, where are you? We don’t have a lot of time to talk, but I followed your scent here, I dropped it in the middle of the forest though. Now I can’t find it.” She says as she looks to the ground and I feel shame wash over us.

“It’s not your fault Valerie.” I say softly touching her shoulder to comfort her.
“I’m underground, I’m not sure where but Emmett is keeping me in a dirt room, if my scent dropped I’m thinking you’re probably close.” I respond as she holds my hands tightly closing her eyes focusing again and I feel her trying to sense me, I relax my body to drop any barriers that may block her as her eyes snap back open.
“You’re below us!” She yells “Ok we’re coming Luna!” She says as she breaks the connection and I become woozy, my mind continues to spin as I try’s to come down from our intense mind link. It took a lot of energy to hold it for that long, atleast she knows where I am now.*

Valerie’s powers have been growing as well, when I link with Evan it’s just like hearing his voice in my head, with Valerie it’s like a psychic connection. She’s able to bring us to one another we can see each other, talk, touch. Her mind truly amazes me.

I wake up on the floor as my head pounds and I think about what just happened, I pick myself up and my legs tremble. I struggle to stand when all of a sudden a loud thump rumbles the dirt room around me. I grab the wall trying to steady myself as rocks and dirt fall from the ceiling, that’s when I hear it.

Evans ear piercing howl catches my attention as a large wolf comes flying through the door to my prison, barrel rolling across the dirt. The large black wolf lays lifeless in front of me as Evan walks in snarling and my eyes go wide looking at my beautiful wolf. Blood drips off his muzzle staining his perfect white fur, his mouth chest and paws are covered. After watching him in awe I notice he’s completely soaked in blood. He quickly bows to me indicating to get on and I obey his command, I wrap my arms around his crimson red neck as he takes off and I notice the wolves just outside my door fighting the rogues who were holding me captive, I guess I wasn’t alone.

I see Valerie’s wolf covered in blood as she shakes her head ripping a smaller wolf to shreds, she spits him out tossing him to the ground grabbing another in her mouth pinning him to the ground next. She digs aggressively on the wolves chest tearing in to his skin as blood and fur fly and she finish’s ripping him to shreds leaving him in a pile of mutilated flesh and tuffs of fur. Holy crap, Valerie’s a badass. I laugh to myself as she looks to be enjoying her kill, I’ve never seen her fight before, I knew she was strong but never thought she could be so aggressive.

Evan leans back letting out an echoing howl calling our pack as everyone finish’s their fight before retreating back to the Alpha, I hold on tightly as I feel the bruises on my body sear while Evan takes off through the forest, and dawn starts to break. His huge paws stomping in to the dirt below us.

Evan leads our pack members as we race back to our land, everyone howling in victory behind us as Valerie mind links me quickly.
“Good to see you Luna.” She chuckles as she yips away prancing around us not trying to hide her excitement.

We reach the pack house quickly as everyone begins to shift back and Evan gently sets me down before Valerie tackles me to the ground with a hug.
“I’m so sorry Alison I should have went with you.” She cries while squeezing me to tight making it hard to breath.
“It’s ok Valerie I was the one that went outside alone, it’s not your fault.” I say softly leaning closer to her. “And you’re the only reason you guys found me.” I whisper to her as her giggles break her cries.

Evan returns as Valerie quickly releases me apologizing again.
“Thank you everyone for your help tonight!” He addresses our warriors.
“We were successful in bringing Luna home, but we still didn’t get Emmett. Guard duty will remain doubled until he is captured. Watch your back, be vigilant and stay safe.” He finishes as I turn around to see doctor Blair and Emily standing on the porch, Evan scoops me up in his big arms as I melt in to him.

“Good to have you back Luna.” Doctor Blair says in his soft warm voice. “We need to do an exam.” He says softly as I nod and we head off to the clinic.

I close my eyes as Evan carry’s me listening to his heart beat while he walks. It pounds in my head vibrating through my body as contentment fills me.

“Do you remember what happened?” He asks softly so no one else will hear as I gently nod against him and he releases a long sigh as I feel his guilt surround us mixing with his angry aura. I notice the others feel it to as they all look to the ground not raising their gaze.
