Chapter 28.
Alisons POV

“What about him?” Evan asks pointing to Salem.
“What do you mean?” I ask back confused by his question.
“Are you looking for a place for him to go? Or are we taking him home?” He asks as my face drops.
“Are you ok with that?” I say softly.
“I didn’t even think about us housing one of the children.” I finish.

“Alison, he needs parents, we are the Alpha and Luna. You don’t need to ask me of coarse I’m ok with it.” He states touching my face as he looks down to Salem.
“Ok, we’ll take him.” I say smiling as I fight the erge to cry. Being a orphan I never thought about having kids, but I know what it feels like to not have family and to just feel alone.

Evan joins Joel with the warriors to discuss building plans as I sit back down on my bench rocking Salem.

“Luna!” Valerie calls as I signal for her to quiet down.
“Oh sorry Luna, I have 5 family’s willing to take children they’re on their way here now.” She says looking at Salem.
“Who’s this?” She asks.
“Well this is Salem, his parents were killed by Romeo. Alpha Evans said he would like to keep him.” I say softly as he begins to stir and Valerie smiles.

“Could you please find me a child’s bed and have it put in the bedroom beside mine and the Alphas.” I ask softly as i rock Salem back and forth gently swaying my body.
“Also he looks to be size 5-6 so let’s try and find him some clothes and appropriate toys.” She nods quickly taking off.

A few minutes later the first family shows up the mother is slim with dark brown hair and light skin, the father tall with black hair and a stocky build, the little girl looks to be about 3.
“Hello Luna.” The mother starts.
“We are the Prescott’s, Valerie called us saying you needed placements for children.” She finishes while walking up to me.

“So as you know we are merging packs, when Alpha and I got to blood stone today we were disgusted with the condition of these wolves. We have a few kids who’s parents were killed by Alpha Romeo and are orphaned.” I tell them as I walk them over to the children all sitting in a circle playing and laughing with each other.

“Oh my goodness these poor babies!” She cry’s turning away taking a deep breath. “Valerie say you had 2 toddlers?” She asks as one of the pre teens walks up handing her the baby, I call the other 3 year old over to meet the Prescott’s as the mother plays peek a boo with the baby visibly fighting back tears.

“Ok we will take both baby’s.” She says softly as she picks the littlest one up cradling her in her arms.
“Thank you so much.” I say back.
“You have no idea how much this truly helps.” I say as she nods softly rocking the sweet baby gooing in her arms.

“After we had Annabelle I was told I couldn’t have any more kids, so honestly this is such a blessing, for you to bring these beautiful baby’s in to our pack is such a blessing and I will do my best with them.” She says as her eyes never leave the baby.
“You can ask one of the older kids for more info on the baby’s birthdates and such if you’d like.” I say gently touching her shoulder as she nods, walking over to one of the older kids as both 3 year olds cling to her mate.

After a few hours all of the children have been placed with family’s in the pack and are being settled in to their new homes, Alpha Evans is finishing up plans with the warriors who will meet in the training arena in the morning, soon everyone is safely away in the tents getting ready for bed. I command our guards to continue double shifts as I start my way upstairs carrying Salem.

I get upstairs as Valerie is having two warriors make up Salem’s room beside ours, she has a little blue dresser in the room along with a small toddler bed a toy box and book shelf, she already has toys and clothes being brought in and put away as I walk in. I grab clothes for Salem and leave to my bathroom. Running a warm bath I wake him up as he looks at me through tired eyes.

“You’re going to take a bath and then you have your own room right beside mine ok?” I say as he nods rubbing his little eyes. I place him in the bath and gently start washing his body with a natural soap made from flowers found on the pack lands the smell is just intoxicating and so relaxing.

After washing his hair out 3 times I realize it’s white blond and he has this cute black cowlick in the front. I finish rinsing him off and pull him out wrapping him in a huge fluffy towel as he snuggles in to it.
I dry him off and put fresh clean pyjamas on him as he continues to hold on to me.

I walk him in to his room as Valerie is finishing up, I gently place him in his bed as he wraps himself in the blankets snuggling deeper. I ruffle his hair before turning on the night light, turning off the big light and closing his door.
“All the children found family’s?” Valerie asks.
“Yes for now, we will see if they end up permanent placements.” I say softly, I stretch realizing how tired I am.

“Let Alpha Evans know I’m going to bed please, I’ve handled all the children as well as finding everyone’s temporary place.” I say as she nods giving me a big hug.
“You did really good today.” She says with a huge smile.
“Thank you.” I say through my exhaustion.

I climb in to bed as my body melts in to the soft pillow top and my muscles begin to relax and feel like jello. Just before I drift off to sleep I here the door open and alpha Evans sigh loudly, he must be tired too I think before the darkness consumes my thoughts.


I hear Salem cry in the other room as I spring to me feet running to him, he’s curled up in a ball under his blankets as he continues to cry and I quickly scoop the small boy up in my arms.

“It’s ok.” I tell him softly as he clings on to me.
“You’re safe here no one will hurt you.” I say again as he starts to sniffle.
“I promise we will keep you safe here ok, you’re going to live with me and my mate.” I speak softly as he looks up at me now listening to my words.
“This will be your bedroom, you will have your own toys and you are safe, Alpha Romeo is gone and our pack is very different then his was, we are family. And you’re our family now too.” I say as he giggles nuzzling in to me.

Just then I hear the door creak open and I look towards it as Salem clings closer to me, I rub his back to help relax him as Evans head pops through the door.
“Evan come in.” I say.
“Salem.” I say as he looks up at me with his beautiful bright green eyes.
“This is Alpha Evans, you can just call him Evan if you want. My name is Alison or Ali.” I say as he softly nods and Evan crouches down to Salem.

“It’s nice to meet you Salem, how old are you?” He asks as Salem reaches for Evan and he picks him up as he nuzzled in to him.
“I’m 5.” He responds quietly as Evan rocks him back and forth.
“5!” Evan exclaims.
“You’re such a big boy for 5!” He tells him poking at his sides as Salem laughs out giggling loudly.
“Hey Salem?” Evan questions.
“Do you want to come sleep in our bed?” He finishes his sentence as Salem is already quickly nodding.
“Yes, yes please!” He squeals happily as Evan picks him up taking off back to our room as I sit and giggle. My life if perfect.
