Chapter 49.
Emily’s POV

Since the merger of the packs I’ve felt a lot more comfortable, Blair has been really good to me. He’s been patient and kind and I truly appreciate him as my mate. It’s been a challenge learning the mate bond after Alpha Romeo, therapy has helped a lot and I’m starting to feel better. Most days that is.

My heart breaks for Alison as I sit against my door sobbing, my best friend is hurting more then I could imagine and there’s nothing I can even do to help her. My breath hitches as I sniffle trying to calm myself, my first surgery assist was on my best friend and we lost her baby. My chest hurts as there’s a knock at the door startling me from my thoughts.

I stand opening the door as I turn to wipe my face and Poppy and Pepper walk in.
“Hello girls.” I sniffle in a low voice as they step in to my room.
“What can I help you with?” I ask while they both look to the ground and I grow concerned.

“If you don’t have time we can come back later.” Poppy says softly as I shake my head and motion for them to sit.
“It’s ok what’s up?” I answer as they both take a seat pausing before Pepper starts.
“When we met you at the Blood Stone pack, we didn’t exactly tell you everything.” She says as I nod waiting for more.
“We aren’t actually wolves…” She stops and I just look at them with a confused expression.
“Well neither am I?” I say with an awkward laugh.

“We’re witches.” Poppy blurts out before her sister has a chance to speak and my eyes go wide.
“Why are you telling me this?” I ask softly.
“Well we need you to tell the Alpha.” Pepper starts again. “We have no intentions of harming the pack, we just want to be safe. Alpha Romeo took us from our parents when we were toddlers he raised us in the pack with hopes of using our powers.” She says as she looks down and Poppy continues for her.
“We came in to our powers around the age of 10 but hid them from the Alpha because we were scared of what he might make us do. He always just assumed we hadn’t come in to them yet so we were maids, he said we were useless and worthless until we had our magic.” She says as the air stiffens in the room.

“We need to go to the Alpha.” I say grabbing their hands as a terrified expression crosses their face and they yank away.
“No!” They both yell. “We can’t! He’ll banish us or lock us up!” They say as tears stream down their faces and I feel hurt from what they think.
“We need you to talk to him first.” They say pulling back from me.

“He wouldn’t do that, he will find jobs within the pack for you guys to help with, have you been treated poorly since you’ve arrived?” I ask softly as they both look up at me.
“Well no, but wolves don’t normally like witches.” Poppy says as I give them a soft smile.
“He will love you, trust me Evan is a good Alpha. Come on.” I say standing up as they look as each other and finally stand to come with me.

We get to the Alpha house and I knock on the front door as the girls stand just behind me shaking with fear. Valerie answers the door greeting me with a big smile.
“Emily it’s good to see you, are you here to see Alison?” She asks as I shake my head softly and the girls look to the floor.
“Actually I need to speak with Alpha if that’s alright.” Her eyes gloss over quickly as she mind links him to confirm before she sends us up.

I knock on the office door hearing Evans loud voice calls for us to come in, I open the door stepping through as he looks up from his desk.
“Hello Emily, Valerie said you needed to speak with me, please come in and sit.” He says in his low strong voice and I nod to him going to the chairs.
“Alpha, this is Pepper and Poppy. They came from Romeo’s pack when we merged.” I say as he hold his hands in front of him looking between the girls.

“They just told me that they are witches. They were stolen from their family by Romeo’s men when they were kids, he planned to use their magic to gain power. They hid their powers so he thought they didn’t have them yet.” I finish as he just nods and both girls quiver behind me silent as mice.
“They just want to live in the pack without fear of being hunted or hurt, they are willing to work as well. Both girls came to me because they were scared of anyone finding out what they were, due to being raised by Romeo they don’t have a lot of trust.” I finish as he sits up pausing before he starts.

“Well lady’s, I have no issue with you remaining in the pack so long as you vow to protect and honour your pack members.” He says as both girls nod frantically.
“How developed is your magic?” He asks looking at them inquisitively as their eyes go wide and they stutter before speaking.
“Well Alpha, we’ve only had our powers for a few years. We’ve practiced in private but with hiding it’s been difficult.” Pepper says as she looks down again not meeting his gaze.

“Understandable.” He says before thinking a minute.
“You may both have full access to our library and history books, I will also talk to the board about getting you guys a teacher. I’d like you girls to be very open with me through this journey with your magic, I will help you the best I can and all I ask in return is for you to help out in the pack when needed with your magic.” He says as both girls look up with huge smiles plastered across their faces.
“Oh thank you Alpha!” They both say at the same time and he returns their smile.

“Is that all?” He asks as the girls say thank you and take off out the office.
“How’s Alison?” I ask softly and I see tears well behind his eyes.
“She’s alright, it’s been really hard the past week. She doesn’t seem to want to leave bed much, which I understand but it hurts. I just linger around waiting for something to happen, the stress is eating at me.” He finishes as I notice his eyes droop from exhaustion, his face showing more emotion then his voice. My heart hurts for him and I feel a weight on my chest form.

“I’m so sorry for your loss Alpha, I couldn’t imagine what you two must be going through.” I say as I lower my head while sorrow fills the room.
“Thank you Emily, you and Blair have been an incredible help and I truly appreciate it.” He says softly and I nod standing to leave.

I return to the medic centre and the other nurses greet me as I walk in to the lobby, I find Blair in his office with his cute little glasses hanging off his nose while he’s buried in paper work. I slowly unbutton my blouse walking up to his desk as his eyes shoot up to me.
“Why hello Emily.” He says leaning back in his chair with a huge smile spread across his face.

“I finished the charts you asked for.” I say in a light flirty tone as I continue my buttons.
“Oh yeah, are they done correctly.” He responds placing his clip board down as my blouse gently falls from my shoulders hitting the ground behind me. I slip off my heels and he continues to watch me devouring me with his eyes.
“Do you need a new task?” He asks unbuttoning his pants as I drop to my knees and his hands twist through my long dark hair.

I pull him out as he gasps and I slide my lips down his shaft, my heart races as I fight the feeling to pass. I gently move my mouth along him as his small gasps begin to fill his office, gently moving along with me I slowly start to move deeper.
“Can I touch you?” He asks and I give him an approving nod as he releases a long groan drifting his fingers down my arms as small sparks erupt from his touch, I moan against him as I continue my pace.

His hands travel across my body as my heart beat picks up again and panic sets in, I pull away taking a few deep breaths before going to continue when suddenly Blair’s picking me up placing me on his desk while my skirt slides up to my hips.
“Is this ok?” He asks softly and I nod before his lips land on mine and he pulls me in to a deep kiss, our tongues collide as flames spread across my body and he gently presses himself in to me. I lean my head back as a small moan leaves my mouth and I feel Blair smile against his previous mark sending sparks across my skin, kissing it as he slowly moves deeper in to me.

I wrap my arms around his neck and pull him closer while he continues his pace, my breathing speeds up as I get closer to release.
“Mmm do you like that?” He asks as my mind flash’s back to Romeo and my body stiffens. Blair pulls out as my chest tightens and I can’t breath or open my eyes, he pulls me to him holding me tightly as I hear his voice trying to calm me.

Unable to break through to reality I hear Romeo scream in my head as a sting flash’s across my face and I feel my face is wet. I try to breath and focus on Blair’s voice outside of my own mind as I continue to be pulled through the terrible scene.

I finally return to see Blair holding my shoulders hard, looking at me with a worried expression across his face.
“What happened, are you ok?” He asks as I try to catch my breath and my mind spins.
“Emily what happened?” He repeats and I look up to him pulling him closer as I begin to calm.
“I .. I don’t know I seen Alpha Romeo again, I heard his voice in my head and I couldn’t stop it.” I say as my voice cracks and tears pour down my cheeks, my heart races at the thought of that evil man.

“Emily it’s normal to have PTSD after what you’ve been through, it’s ok. We will work through it together and I will help you, the more you talk about it the easier it will become and less it will happen, but it will take time and some triggers may never leave.” Blair says softly as he looks deeply in to my eyes gently touching the side of my face, I nod sniffling my tears away as he gently kisses me and passes me my blouse.
“I love you Emily, I will always be here to help you.” He says as a small smile crosses my face and the warmth of his love fills me.
