Chapter 82.
Valeries POV

My body feels numb, I’m lost in my own thoughts when Parker comes to sit behind me startling me.
“You’re not going to eat?” He asks placing small kisses along my neck sending shocks through me.

I feel his chest press in to my back as he leans his body in to me, my heart pounds in my ears covering the now muffled sounds around me. Everything begins to go dark and I realize she’s trying to contact me, I allow the connection through as I appear in a wooded area. It looks like it’s just outside the pack boarder and I think I know where it is.

“Come to me.” Her soft voice carry’s through my dream.
“Valerie darling come to me.” She says again before I pull back forcing the connection to break off, my head snaps up off my arms and I realize I was laying my head down on the table as Parker still sits behind me on the bench.

“Are you ok?” He asks abruptly making me jump.
“Did you see her?” He asks again before I can even answer the first question.
“Yes, she wants to meet just outside the pack boarder.” I say as I mind link Evan quickly showing him where she brought me in my vision.

Evan meets me outside before I leave.
“I will be just behind you, warriors are all in place hidden around her meeting spot.” He states as my mind is still blurred and it feels like I’m watching myself in a dream, I just nod as Parker grabs my hand giving me a smile and we start off together.

“Are you ready for this?” Parker asks as I swallow hard realizing the ball caught in my throat.
“No, I’ve pictured meeting my mother more times then I can count and none of those ever involved her being a witch leading a pack of rogues hopped up on herbs.” I answer with more attitude then I had meant.
“I’m sorry.” I apologize as his head sinks.
“It’s ok, I understand.” He states as we make the rest of the walk in silence.

We make it to the clearing and I recognize the trees surrounding us from the vision. We stand still waiting for her to show up as it begins to get dark, the forest is quiet and you can hear the small animals move around as Evan mind links me.
“Anything yet?” He asks calmly.
“Not yet.” I answer as I her a noise sharply to my left and I turn to it as Parker begins to growl lowly.

“I told you to come alone darling.” Her soft voice says as I squint my eyes trying to see her while Parker continues to growl.
“This is my mate, Parker.” I state as she cackles loudly, the retched noise echoing off the trees making me cringe.

“Mates are useless!” She yells as she’s suddenly in front of me, her feet slightly off the ground while she levitates in front of me making eye contact. My heart skips as Parker stands just in front of me his, growls getting louder and deeper with her movements.
“What do you want with me!” I demand angrily loosing patience with her attitude.

“You’re my child dear, I want to know you.” She says as my stomach flips and I feel sick.
“You want to know me now? Now that I’m an adult?” I ask sarcastically.
“How about you explain what happened when I was a baby?” I snap back as my anger rises and I feel Parker become more ridged.

“After you were born your father took you from me, he gave you to his brother the beta. He didn’t believe you’d be safe with me.” She says simply as I snicker not buying it at all.
“Why am I the key? What am I the key too?” I ask as her face turns with rage.

“How do you know about that!” She screams, her aura almost knocks me off my feet. I hear a loud growl off in the distance and know its Evan, her head snaps to the loud sound making her angrier as the air tenses around us.
“You brought your Alpha!” She screams again getting closer to me as Parker stands still not allowing her to move passed.

“Down dog!” She demands as he growls loudly, mainly for Evan to hear.
“Back off witch!” He bellows deeply. “You still haven’t told us what it is you want?” He says as she laughs once again.
“My daughter belongs with me. Her power will be too strong for any of you to handle and her destiny is not meant to be fulfilled here.” She says as Parker drops to the ground in pain and my stomach turns aggressively bringing me to my knees as I scream in agony.

“What are you doing to him!” I demand loudly as tears rush down my face.
“Stop you’re killing him!” I demand again as I feel the life drain from Parker and I choke on my breath.
“I told you darling mates are useless, all they do is hurt you.” She states, my tears burn my face and my stomachs in knots forcing me not to move as I can only watch.

“Don’t worry dear it will be over soon and then he will never hurt you like your father hurt me. Then we can be together, oh my beautiful daughter! The things I can teach you, the things you will do.” She says making me sick as I hear the thump of paws come across the ground knowing Evans coming for me.

“No! I won’t let you go again!” She claims making me look up to her before making eye contact with Parker as he twists in pain on the ground his shrieking screams bouncing off the trees trapping themselves in my head. I lay collapsed unable to move.
“I’m sorry.” I mouth to him as his eyes go pale and my heart shatters in to pieces.

She reaches down plunging her hand in to his chest and my heart stops, I can’t breath. The life drains from Parker as she rips out his heart dropping it on the ground in front of me and I let out a blood curdling scream forcing my body to ignight on fire. Rage burns through me hotter then anything I’ve ever felt before as I hear her chuckle.

“‘I told you no one will handle your magic.” She says as I notice Evan and the warriors surrounding us, Griselda whistles loudly and rogues start filing in attacking our men. She tries to grab me as I pull my hand back shrieking again allowing myself to feel the pain, anger, anguish and loss of my mate.

I feel my magic flow as I let it force it’s way out in a wave dropping the rogues to the ground as they take off squealing leaving Griselda sanding in front of me alone in total shock. I step towards her ready to rip her head off as she steps back frantically, with in seconds she’s gone. Vanished in a puff of smoke to retreat with her wolves and I’m left to take in what just happened.

my mate is dead. She killed him. The one person chosen for me by the moon goddess has been taken from me and my whole being feels empty, I can’t even breath. Evan grabs my shoulders as I realize I’m in a pile on the ground, my arms wrapped around Parker as my earth shattering sobs fill the air

“Valerie we need to go!” Evan says as all I hear is muffled words and my own crys.
“Valerie come on we’re taking Parker with us, you can grieve at the pack but we need to leave.” He says pulling at me as I sob unable to break away. I feel him pull me off Parker as he scoops me up in his arms, Evan has always been a brother to me and without Parker I know I’m going to need him.
