Chapter 32.
Alisons POV

I pace back and forth trying to think of a plan as a loud thump lands on the deck outside and my mind flash’s back to the books I was reading with Valerie, there are old tunnels under the pack house. They were used for this exact situation, hiding the pack if needed.

“Follow me!” I say as I push my way past other wolves to head towards the basement, I’ve never seen the tunnels but I hope they can hold at least 200 wolves. I go down the basement stairs till I get to the storage room, I push past a huge shelf moving it to the side revealing a trap door. Just like I thought, it takes me a few minutes of pushing on it to finally get it open, it must not have been used for a long time I think to myself as the door is just big enough to get everyone through one at a time.

I help everyone in to the tunnels quickly, once everyone is in I follow behind and close the trap door. We all sit quietly listening to the outside for any noise that might tell us what is going on, Salem is snuggled in to Emily sitting in the corner of the room. I look around noticing how scared everyone is, after what feels like hours I finally stand up to take a look and see if the attack is over.

“Ok I’m going to take a look and see what’s going on, everyone will stay here until I or Alpha Evans comes to get you.” I say softly trying to be quiet.
“I want to come! I want to come!” Salem says as Emily try’s to hold him to her.
“Salem you need to stay with Emily until I know it’s safe, ok?” I say holding his hands as he softly nods frowning, his sweet little face looks so cute when he pouts.
“It’s ok I’ll be back soon ok buddy.” I say ruffling his hair as I stand up pushing the door open just enough for me to slide my body through.

I quietly walk upstairs as I hear voices on the other side of the door, I listen closely trying to make out what is said.
“Where are they!” A loud voice bellows and I know it’s Evan, I open the door quickly as he’s flying around the pack house with 5 other huge wolves.

“There you are!” He yells loudly lifting me off the ground wrapping his arms around me squeezing tightly.
“Where were you!” He exclaims.
“I red in one of the history books the other day about the pack houses having hidden tunnels under them in case of emergency. So I took my chance and found a trap door to the tunnels.” I say pulling him to the basement as I talk.
“I moved everyone in here just encase the pack house was breached.” I say as he just looks at me with admiration.

I push the trap door open revealing our pack. As people begin to pour out of my hiding place he just looks more in thrilled.
“You are amazing.” He says softly kissing me. “You handled a tough situation under a lot of stress with no preparation and you did good. If the pack house had been breached you had at least kept our pack safe.” He states.
“Speaking of pack how is everyone, what happened?” I ask as we all move to go back outside. Once out there I see the wave of devastation.

Alpha Evans and I walk through the pack lands assessing the damage.
“On our way back from Alpha Romeo’s pack land I picked up on a weird smell. Quinn told me to run so I mind linked the warriors to let them know we had an incoming attack, but because we haven’t accepted Alpha Romeo’s members yet I can’t mind link them so I had to run back to warn you.” He starts.

“Once you got everyone inside the attack moved closer, it took us a while to take them all down. We were fighting the rogues as they would take down one of us we took down two of them, but they had good numbers so it was fairly even. Then out of no where they all stopped fighting and sprinted off the pack lands.” He finishes as we walk through the rubble and destruction of the court yard.

“How many were hurt?” I ask softly nervous for his answer.
“34 warriors were injured.” He states coldly as his head drops.
“Any casualties?” I ask next.
“2.” He pauses. “They were father and son, I need to go tell the mother.” He says as he looks down and shame wash’s off of him and on to me.

“I will do it.” I say. “I will talk with her, after that I will stop by the medical centre and see how everything is over there. You handle cleaning this up and making sure everyone has somewhere to sleep tonight.” I say grabbing either side of his face.
“We will get through this, do we know why the attack happened?” I finally ask.

“That’s what’s troubling I have no idea.” He says looking defeated.
“Ok we’ll figure it out, now who am I going to go see?” I say not knowing the mother I need to speak with.
“Robin fletch.” He says softly. “Her son was Tyler and her mate was Richard.” He says as he places a light kiss on my forehead before walking away to join the rest of the pack to help clean up.
“Where’s Valerie?” I say before he’s out of ear shot.
“I’m not sure, last I seen of her was in the pack house.” He responds and I take off to go find her.

I get her to join me to go meet with Robin, I still don’t know the pack great so it helps to have Valerie with me, I guess her and Evan grew up with Tyler so she also knew his family.

I knock on the door as I wait for an answer, the door swings open and before I can even speak a small dark brown haired lady bursts in to tears in front of me as she hits the floor.
“Oh no, he’s dead isn’t he?” She chokes through her cry’s as Valerie pulls her in to a long hug on the floor.

“Ma’am I’m sorry to inform you that your son and mate were killed defending the pack in the rogue attack.” I say softly as her blood churning whales can be heard for miles as she collapses in to Valeries arms further. I kneel down to her putting my hand on her shoulder and focus, the lady in the shop said as Luna I can control my pack mates emotions. I know I’m not Luna yet but it’s worth a shot.

I breath deeply focusing on numbing my nerves as her crying slows, I continue this for about 15 minutes before she’s finally calmed down and just sniffling.
“I’m so sorry for your loss.” I say gently to her.
“I felt it.” She states blankly. “I felt him die the mate bond connected us in ways we don’t even understand. When he died my heart stopped and I couldn’t breath it was the worst pain I’d ever felt.” She says as her muscles shake.
“Oh my gosh Tyler.” She begins to cry again. “He was my only baby.” Her tears fall aggressively as Valerie rocks her back and forth.

“Would you like to come to the pack house tonight? You should have the support of your pack, not be alone tonight.” I state as she looks up to me and her face softens.
“You’re going to be an amazing Luna.” She says softly smiling as I take her hand helping her up as she continues to sob quietly.
