Chapter 55.
Alisons POV

We bring the pack in to the tunnels before the battle begins, making sure everyone is situated and ready incase the fight moves to the pack lands. Last night the chefs and I stocked each pack house with water and snacks in the tunnels as we don’t know how long this could take, we are fully prepared to wait this out while our warriors handle the front lines.

We sit below the pack houses for what seems like hours, children are sleeping and everyone else is sitting quietly waiting for me or Evan to tell them what to do next, a loud bang lands above us as the tunnels shake and small stones fall from the walls making my heart skip.
“They’re here.” I say quietly as Valerie’s eyes gloss over and I know she’s trying to mind link Evan.

She struggles to make the link as her face turns in frustration, I look at her in confusion as she looks up to me.
“I can’t reach him.” She says softly as I grow more confused and my chest begins to tighten with fear.
“Maybe he’s too far, keep trying.” I respond and I feel my panic rise as we listen closely to what’s happening above us.

“Evans back on pack grounds.” Valerie says as I go to jump up and she grabs my arms.
“No!” She demands. “I’m not sure what’s going on Emmett pulled some disappearing act at his hide out, Evan rushed back here realizing it was a distraction.” She continues to talk as I listen closely. “Emmett’s at the pack house the battles not over yet.” She says softly looking down as the noise continues above us and my heart pounds in my chest. My stomach sinks as reality hits me and I feel sick, Evan is above us fighting Emmett right now and I’m powerless to help.

“Valerie can you show me what’s happening up there? Look through someone else’s eyes and show me.” I say to her and she thinks for a moment before taking my hands.
“Let’s try.” She says with confidence and I turn to the pack members still hiding in the tunnels, everyone’s huddled together waiting for my command, everyone’s scared holding each other close afraid to see what happens next.

Valerie and I lock hands as we both close our eyes, I feel her push the mind link and I allow it to flow through.
“Ok are you ready?” She asks as I nod my head taking a deep breath to prepare myself.
“We will be watching, no one will see us which means we can’t talk to anyone just listen and watch.” She explains and I nod in response.

Seconds later the image comes in view, the pack house is empty. Where is everyone? What were those bangs if no ones in here?
“Where is everyone?” I ask turning to Valerie in shock.
“I’m not sure, maybe they haven’t breached the pack house yet.” She answers as we move towards the windows to see what’s outside.

A brick come smashing through the glass as Valerie and I step back, another one comes through and Valerie grabs my hand closing her eyes as we flash and appear on the front deck. Once outside I take a look around and see devastation wash over the pack grounds, wolves fight everywhere ripping each other apart as blood soaks the ground.

That’s when I see Quinn, Evans beautiful white wolf covered in bright red blood, slashing away at a dark grey wolf in the middle of the yard and I know he’s fighting Emmett. Evan seems to have the upper hand as the blood looks to be coming from his opponent.

A dark red wolf stalks them as they fight circling them waiting to lunge, I try to warn Evan as he doesn’t even notice. He can’t hear me through the connection, we’re not linked to him, I think to myself as panic sets in and I’m powerless to help, all I can do is stand back and watch watch.

That’s when the red wolf throws himself through the air landing on top of Evan as he sinks his teeth in to his neck, Evan lets out a shrieking howl as he throws himself back landing on top of his attacker. Emmett’s dark grey wolf pounces on top of him tearing away at Evan as I hear a shrieking scream not realizing it came from me.

Valerie wraps her arms around me pulling me back and suddenly we’re back in the tunnels as I leap to the door and she pulls me back aggressively.
“No! I need to get to him!” I scream trying to pull myself to the door as I feel tears stream down my face blurring my vision and Valerie pulls me to her.
“It will be ok Lorenzo will help him, we need to stay here until it’s over. They won’t let Emmett live.” She says as I try to push her away but she’s stronger then I am. I can’t move, she squeezes me tightly rocking back and forth and I can’t stop my tears from falling.

We sit in silence as the only thing heard through the tunnels are my whimpering cries, it feels like hours before Valerie finally speaks.
“Ok Luna, it’s over. We can go up now.” She says in a low quiet voice as my body refuses to move and I just stare at her. “You need to know it’s not good, Evans hurt.” She sits for a few more minutes with me as I focus on my breathing, calming myself down as I prepare for what I might see.

I stand as Valerie helps me still holding on to me as she pushes the solid concrete door open with ease. She instructs the pack to stay put while we make sure everything’s fine for everyone to come up. Walking through the door a darkness wash’s over me and I feel sick not wanting to go further.

Once outside I see Evan laying on the ground as Lorenzo pulls a huge dead wolf off of him and I hit the ground screaming, my shrieks echo across the pack grounds. I crawl over to him as my tears stream down my face hitting the ground, I grab on to his blood soaked fur still screaming as he softly picks his head up to look at me before dropping it back to the ground.

“No Evan you can’t die!” I scream pulling at him as his breathing is slow and Lorenzo moves me aside to scoop Evan up on to his back.
“Alison lets go we need to get to the medic centre I mind linked Blair he’s meeting us there.” Valerie says pulling me with her, I cling to Lorenzo’s side as he takes off towards the clinic.
“It will be ok Emily and Blair we’ll be in the O.R. waiting for him.” Valerie says softly trying to comfort me as we fallow behind Lorenzo.

We make it to the medic centre as nurses rush us with a gurney and lots of cords leading to equipment as we see doctor Blair come out in scrubs.
“Hello lady’s, not to worry we’re getting scans and going in now, you guys can wait in the Alpha wing and I’ll send Emily in with an update.” He says calmly as I nod frantically and Lorenzo shifts out of his wolf.

We walk to the Alpha wing as they wheel Evan away and my eyes burn from crying, my heart sinks and I feel defeated. I sit on the small love seat facing the window as I try to calm my emotions, my head pounds from the pressure and I feel like it might explode. Lorenzo walks over sitting beside me placing his hand on my knee, as he lets out a loud sigh.

“It’s over.” He says under his breath and my chest sinks.
“Emmett’s dead, Evan managed to kill him before he was taken out by the other wolf, we don’t know where Melissa is but without her leader I don’t see her being a problem.” He explains as I collapse in to him crying harder and he wraps his arms around me in a huge comforting hug.
“I’m really sorry this has all happened to you Luna.” He apologizes and I can’t even answer him back without choking on my tears.

We all sit in silence waiting for an update, it’s so quiet you could hear a pin drop as we all softly breath not wanting to talk. My mind drifts to the worst the entire time we wait, my pulse races and the anxiety is killing me.
