Chapter 47.
Evans POV

I get outside to see wolves everywhere fighting, how the hell did they get this close to the Alpha house? I leap off the deck grabbing the first wolf tearing in to him as his high pitches squeals fill the air, I let Quinn have control full knowing with this many wolves we could easily be in big trouble. I finish the first wolf off moving on to the next as I see Lorenzo in the corner of my eye shaking a rogue at the neck as he lays lifeless between his teeth.

A huge paw comes across my face hard when I see a large brown wolf snarling in front of me, I crouch launching myself on top of him biting down on his ear as he shrieks and try’s to turn. Before he can I slam my paw down on him forcing him to the ground as his furry little ear hangs from my mouth and his dreadful sounds get louder. I spit his ear at him as I swiftly slice his throat with my claws.

“Ok Quinn we can’t play with them let’s just finish this!” I demand as he agrees, ready to take off after the next. A sharp jolt spreads through my body as my breath leaves my lungs and I can’t move. Alison! I think quickly before I’m knocked to the ground unable to defend myself, Lorenzo quickly pulls the rogue off of me tearing him apart as he’s noticing my reaction and he knows exactly what’s going on. He nods to the house as a loud howl breaks through the night, I turn running back to the house to find Alison as pain erupts through me.

I race inside just as Valerie slams in to me trying to get through the door, we both shift quickly as the sweet smell of blood fills my nose and Quinn sends out a shrill howl in pain. Salem comes running out of the hall closet jumping in to my arms as Valerie takes off through the house.

“Evan! Alisons hurt.” He says quickly as tears pour from his little eyes.
“Where is she?” I ask frantically, he points to the kitchen.
“What happened Salem?” I question as he bursts to tears.
“A woman pulled me from Alison, she told me to run and I did but I waited for her and she didn’t come so I went to find her and she was bleeding.” He says easily and I hug him tightly my poor boy.

“Ok Salem I need you to go to mine and Alisons room and hide there till I come get you.” I say as he nods taking off upstairs and the commotion outside calms down. I take off to the kitchen to find Valerie on the ground with Alison soaked in blood.

My heart races and I panic not knowing what to do, I drop to my mate as Valerie shoves tea towels in to the wounds to stop the bleeding. Her blood trying to pour with each beat of her heart.
“I’ve let Emily and Blair know we’re coming I’ll carry Alison you cover me.” Valerie says as I just nod my head quickly shifting back to my wolf.

Back outside the battle has calmed, Lorenzo has forced the rogues back as body’s lay littering the ground, Valerie takes off towards the medic centre as I follow close behind listening around us. Everyone’s to busy with the fight to notice us fly across the pack lands.

I mind link Parker telling him to return to my house and get Salem.
“Lorenzo seems to be doing fine on his own with my warriors so I need you to bring Salem to the medic centre Luna’s been hurt.” I say as he confirms and I feel him break the link.

I see Emily outside before we reach the medic centre, she has a gurney ready, Valerie places Alison on the gurney as both girls run her in to see doctor Blair and I quickly shift following. Nurses are yelling around us as they begin hooking her up to machines, my heart races as sweat pours from me.

“I’ve got this Alpha, I won’t leave her.” Valerie says touching my chest as I nod. “The fight is still going on and Lorenzo needs you, I’ll mind link you if anything happens.” She finishes as I continue to nod unable to speak, I slowly turn walking out as the yelling continues. Valerie’s right I’m no help right now in this condition, but I can help Lorenzo defend my pack. I think to myself as I shift letting Quinn have control again, he looks up howling loudly as we take off towards the action.

The amount of rage rushing through my body forcing the aura around me dark seeping with dread, I see Lorenzo fighting as I notice there’s only a few wolves left, our warriors have created a wall with their body’s between the pack and the rogues. Lorenzo takes on each rogue with a few of the warriors as I leap past the line to join the fight.

It only takes us a few minutes to finish the last of the intruders, exhausted Lorenzo and I look between each other then to my warriors. We both nod dismissing the group after a job well done, we all retreat as guards return to position. Lorenzo follows behind me as the two of us run back to the medic centre.

I walk in and the air feels stiff around me injured wolves are being brought in to exam rooms and rushed to surgery, I head to the Alpha wing as dread wash’s over me. Walking in to the hospital room it’s empty except Valerie, she jumps up as she runs to me.

“What’s going on?” I demand while Lorenzo walks in behind me.
“She’s in surgery now, she’s been stabbed so Blair is going in to see how bad the damage is Emily should be out soon to give an update.” She says as she looks down and I know she’s leaving something out.
“And?” I say as she inhales deeply before making eye contact with me.

“Evan, Blair couldn’t find a fetal heart beat. She’s far enough along now that they should find it pretty easily.” She states as I struggle to breath. The baby.
“We don’t know if the baby’s ok yet, we need to wait and see.” She finishes as I slowly lower myself to the chair trying to comprehend what she’s just said. Tears burn at the back of my eyes as Valerie sits beside me, comforting me as my body turns numb. Valerie has been like a sister to me, we were basically raised together and I’m so grateful to have her through everything.

Lorenzo sits beside me completely still as Quinn paces back and forth in my mind and my heart shatters in to pieces, my poor mate. My mind flash’s back to Salem saying there was a woman who pulled him from Alison. Who would that have even been? I wonder as Parker comes in, Salem in arms.

“He wanted to see you.” Parker says handing Salem to me, he sits in my lap as I pull him closer.
“Salem, do you know who the girl was that pulled you away?” I ask him softly as his beautiful little eyes look up to me.
“Alison called her Melissa.” He responds as my body heats up and I feel anger fill me. How the hell did she get on the pack lands.

“Melissa!” Valerie exclaims in disgust. “Why didn’t she tell me?” She says looking down and I look at her with confusion.
“Alison mind linked me saying she needed help, I was able to let her know I was coming but the connection was weak.” She says as I nod to her.
“That’s why you crashed in to me on my porch, Alison told you she needed you.” I say cutting her off as it all makes more sense, I assumed when the fight started Valerie came to find Alison.

“Why would Melissa stab her?” I ask Valerie as she thinks for a minute.
“Well Melissa’s obsessed with you, maybe she thought getting rid of Alison would give her a better chance with you?” Valerie says softly.
“Ok but how did she have rogues with her? Or has she been hiding in the pack waiting for an attack to use as a cover?” I respond as Lorenzo chimes in.

“Do you think she could be working with Emmett?” He asks as Valerie and I both freeze looking at each other.
“I guess it’s possible, but what would her reason be for joining him?” I answer, we all sit silently thinking about what connections we can make from this attack.
