Chapter 23.
Alisons POV
A sharp sting comes from my side as I try to get comfortable, Evans arms tighten around me pulling me closer. I shimmy my body in to his as he groans in to my neck, I feel my chest tighten as guilt wash’s over me remembering last night and my mark throbs. He’s not mad at me, it wasn’t my fault and I’m fine. I repeat to myself till the feeling finally subsides and I can relax in to him again. A few minutes later I feel Evan stir.
“Good morning my beautiful mate.” He says in a soft sleepy voice as my stomach flutters and I nuzzle further in to him.
“Good morning.” I answer back softly.
“I have a surprise for you today.” He says pulling himself above me placing soft small kisses across my skin.
“Mmm” I hum back as my body sparkles beneath his lips. My mind calms as his aura surrounds me in a warm loving vibe.
“But first we need to pop in and see doctor Blair.” He says as I squint my eyes at him.
“Why? We seen him last night.” I respond while I see his eyes flash gold and I know Quinn is joining the conversation.
“Well doctor Blair needs to give you medication to make sure you don’t get pregnant from last night.” He states as I feel my stomach drop and my heart sit in my throat, I just nod.
“Get dressed while I get breakfast then we’re going outside.” He states excitedly as he jumps up pulling his clothes on.
“Ok.” I say softly as I roll around in my blankets truly not wanting to leave the warmth of my bed, my body aches as I try to move.
I go to our closet and grab a pair of black tights and a light grey long sleeve that drapes off my shoulder. I walk in the bathroom and see my Jean dress from last night laying on the floor as I feel my heart lodge in my throat. Leaning down I gently run my fingers over the dirty ripped fabric examining each tare, flash’s of last night pop in to my head as a fall back feeling Emmett’s breath against my neck, hearing his voice echo through my head.
“There you are little girl.” Repeats over and over as the door opens and Evan snaps my from my trance.
“Are you ok?” He asks seeing the dress and leaning down to me.
“I’m ok.” I say realizing how hard I’m breathing, trying to catch my breath I cling to Evan and he gently pulls the dress away from me.
“This was supposed to be thrown out, I’m sorry I’ll get rid of it.” He says softly kissing my cheek.
I sit there on the floor for a bit longer lost in my thoughts before deciding to finally get up. I stand in front of the big mirror and look at my puffy red eyes, I look tired and worn out I think to myself as Evan comes back up behind me wrapping his arms around me from behind pulling me to him. I take a few deep breaths allowing myself to relax in his hold.
“You look beautiful.” He states giving me a small smile as I let out a deep sigh.
“Breakfast is in the bedroom.” He says, I nod as my stomach grumbles remembering I didn’t eat after I got back last night.
I walk in to see a huge bowl of fresh fruit sitting on the bed with a smaller bowl of peach yogurt and a glass of orange juice, god he knows me so well. Fruit always makes me happy. I sit on the bed happily eating as Evan steps outside for a phone call, by the time I’m done he’s coming back in with a big smile on his face.
“Are you ready?” He asks excitedly.
“Sure” I say downing the last of my juice jumping up to follow him outside.
Walking through the pack doors I feel the sun glare down as the warmth fills my body evaporating all of the pain. We go to the clinic to meet Blair quickly, I step out to enjoy the sun while Blair finishes his conversation with Evan.
Evan comes rushing out past me taking off passed the bush’s making me smile, I chase after him giggling as he jumps through the air shifting in to this beautiful solid white wolf. The only marks he has is a coal black streak over his face and at the tip of his tail. He lands with a loud thud as he slowly turns and I stop dead in my tracks, this huge wolf stands towering over me as my heart pounds.
He’s so beautiful the sun glistens off his fur, reflecting the light making him look like he glitters. He leans down to me as I put my hands on either side of his face, examining each groove of fur off his snout. His crystal blue eyes staring back at me flashing gold, he licks the side of my face as he drops his butt sitting down in front of me.
I walk around him gliding my fingers through his fur as he grumbles at my touch, he lays flat on the ground nuzzling me to get on. I pull myself on top of him linking my fingers together around his neck as he slowly stands up, my heart pounds in my ears while I squeeze my eyes closed feeling his paws patter on the ground. Terrified to open my eyes I just hold on clinging to him as his body moves and flexes beneath me.
The air blows along us as he races through the pack lands. I feel him slow down after a few minutes and my body finally starts to relax, he lowers us down laying on the ground and i take a deep breath. I slowly open my eyes to see a big gorgeous waterfall, it has two levels to it with water pouring down both one faster then the other. The water is a beautiful teal colour with such a mystical aura, I’m so mesmerized by the amazing view that I don’t even notice Evan shift back as he walks up hugging me from behind he trails kisses up my neck.
“It’s amazing.” I say still looking around.
“My mother used to bring me here when I was a child, we used to have picnics and swim in the water. My dad put that swing up when I was 7.” He states pointing over to a big blue rope swing hanging over the water.
“I remember bugging him for weeks for it, I was so excited when he finally agreed.” He says as he smiles softly looking down. We both sit on the rock side on the far side of the little pond with our feet in the water as I listen to him talk about his family.
“I haven’t come back here since my parents accident.” He says as I hear the sadness in his voice.
“What happened to them?” I ask softly putting my hand on his knee.
“They had a meeting with another pack.” He starts slowly.
“They were driving home and it was late, it had been raining for days and the roads were wet. Mud slides were happening all across the country and one happened to wash one of the main roads out that we used to travel from pack to pack.” He pauses.
“They were found by our guards in the morning 5 miles outside pack lands, our guards were going out to look for them as we expected them back already. But it was too late.” He says as I feel tears prick behind my eyes, the sadness of my mate consuming me as I feel his pain. I crawl in to his lap clinging to him as he takes a few deep breaths.
“I love you more then anything Alison.” He says clearly as I feel the butterflies flutter their way through my body again.
“I love you too.” I respond planting my lips on his aggressively.
