Chapter 18.
Emily’s POV.

I hear a faint beep in the back ground as I feel pain sear through my body, I wince trying to open my eyes. Bright lights burn as I struggle to see. Where am I? The last thing I remember was being in Alpha Romeo’s room, my body stiffens when I think of him and I feel the bite marks on my body sting in response. I remember being hit and feeling the floor beneath me. I think I was carried some where but I’m not sure.

“Emily?” I hear my name come from a feminine voice breaking my thoughts as my eyes begin to adjust.
“Emily, you’re ok.” She says. A beautiful red headed girl sits in front of me, I think I’ve seen her before in my dream, she feels warm. She was sitting with Alison in my dream. ALISON! Where is she?
“I know you.” I say softly as my throat cracks.

“My name is Valerie, I’m Alisons friend.” She answers as she moves closer grabbing my hand.
“Alison.” I repeat. “Where is she?” I ask through my cracked voice.
“She’ll be back in a minute she’s just speaking with a board member.” She answers and I just nod closing my eyes again. I try to focus on what hurts but I can’t even tell everything just throbs. I take a few deep breaths before looking over to Valerie.

“Can you please help me sit up?” I manage to choke out, she nods standing beside me lifting me up as I flinch in pain.
“I’m sorry.” She says gently placing me back down moving my pillows around for me.
“It’s ok, thank you.” I say giving her a small smile as she looks as me with pity and sorrow in her eyes.
“Alpha Romeo?” I ask as I feel tears prick behind my eyes, she shakes her head taking my hand.

“You’re under the protection of Alpha Evans now. Our pack is run very differently then Alpha Romeo’s, you will be safe here plus Alison and I are here with you.” She says in a soft comforting voice as I watch her eyes flash silver, she’s a wolf too. Alpha Romeo’s eyes flashed gold when his wolf came forward. Why are hers silver? I wonder.
“Who is Alpha Evans?” I ask softly.

“He’s Alisons mate, he’s a very good man and he protects his pack.” She says smiling. Mate. I remember Alpha Romeo saying I was his mate and he’d use me as he pleased.
“Alpha Romeo said he was my mate.” I say sadly looking down.
“Oh no Emily, he marked you against your will. The moon goddess chooses our mate for us. You would know if he was your mate it’s a stronger love then anything you will ever find.” She says rubbing my hand, the door opens quickly as I look to see who is coming in.

Alison. A smile crosses my face as she comes barreling in to my bed on top of me, god I’ve missed her. She snuggles in to me as I burst in to tears.
“Alison I missed you!” I say choking.
“I missed you too Emily, your safe now.” She says as I feel a man walk in to the room making my body stiffen and my eyes shoot to the tall blond in the door way.

“It’s ok, Emily this is my mate Alpha Evans.” Alison says as she pulls away from our hug and I can’t break my eyes from her Alpha. He steps towards the bed as I hold my breath.
“I won’t hurt you Emily.” He says softly.
“But I have contacted the board about what Alpha Romeo has done, so we are going to need to talk about that a little bit.”

“No No, I don’t want to do that.” I say stuttering to get the words out.
“Emily I know this is hard, but Alpha Romeo will continue to treat his pack the same way he was treating you, you’re safe here.” He says sitting down next to Valerie, I look down at my hands as Alison grabs my face.

“You’ll be ok Emily, Alpha Romeo can’t get you here. Evan will make sure of that.” She says softly, I slowly nod responding to her. Alpha Romeo said he would kill me on multiple occasions, how do I know Alpha Evans isn’t the same as him? How do I know I won’t just be locked up again?

“Ok I don’t need to be here if you don’t want me here Alison will stay with you and Valerie will wait outside, the doctor is going to come in with a nurse. He will need to look at the wounds swab them and take photos of them.” Alpha Evans states as I just nod.

“You can stay.” I say squeezing Alisons hand.
Evan leaves the room returning a few moments later with doctor Blair, I feel my body calm as he comes in to the room. For some reason he makes me feel completely comfortable for the first time since Alison and I were taken.

“Hello again Emily” his soft voice vibrates through my body making my heart flutter softly. He smells like the ocean which is weird being in a hospital all day, he seems very kind. Everything about him is very gentle and soft which is comforting.

“I will be looking over your injury’s to document everything for the board, later a board member will come speak with you to take your statement, Alison if you could move please.” He motions for her to sit next to the Alpha as a beautiful blond nurse comes in, god everyone is so gorgeous here.

Doctor Blair walks over to me setting his clip board down.
“We’re going to get started, I’m going to have to touch you, if that’s alright?” He asks as I quickly nod looking over to Alison and she squeezes my hand tighter.
He moves the blanket off of me showing the multiple carvings across my body, Alison gasps as I pinch my eyes closed waiting for it to be over.

I feel sparks spread across my stomach as my eyes shoot open, doctor Blair’s hands are on me as he continues to inspect each wound. What’s wrong with him? Why does his touch feel like that I think to myself as I realize him staring at me, his eyes look glossy as if he wants to cry.

“Why do your hands feel like that?” I ask as his face drops and Alison shoots a look to Evan.
“I’m not sure what your talking about.” He says blowing me off continuing to check my marks. Alison squeezes my hand leaving the room with Evan as Valerie comes in.
