Chapter 57.
Alisons POV

It’s been a few days since Emmett’s death, Valerie and I have been making new building plans as Lorenzo’s been cleaning the pack lands up with his men, it’s been a busy few days and everyone is beyond tired.

We lost 63 wolves in battle and there was a lot of injuries that came from the fight, Emily and Blair have been swamped in the medic centre. Evan is healing and lingering around the house because he’s not able to do anything, he’s been spending a lot of time with Salem though which I think has been good for both of them.

I walk out to the front yard of the main pack house as Lorenzo is lighting another pile of dead wolves on fire, the smell makes my stomach turn and I cover my face before reaching him. The dark smoke fills the air blocking the sun from shining in, our pack has seemed so depressing the last little while. it’s relieving knowing we can finally move forward and start to build our pack up.

“Lorenzo, lunch is set up in the main pack house for you and your men.” I say with a small smile and he returns it walking over to me.
“Thank you Luna I really appreciate it, how’s Evan today?” He asks calmly as I look down while I talk.
“He’s doing ok, he seems a little depressed lately though, I think he’s getting tired of being cooped up.” I answer releasing a deep breath I didn’t realize I was holding.
“Ok well I’ll go spend some time with him, he’ll be back to work soon.” He says with a smile as he gently squeezes my shoulder before heading off to lunch.

I stand alone in the pack court yard looking around at all the destruction, we have a lot of work ahead of us and each day seems more overwhelming. I turn slowly walking back to the main pack house to find Valerie, we have to meet with Oliver today and let the board know what has happened and are plan for the future.

I find Valerie in the kitchen with a plate of grilled cheese and soup, I sit next to her stealing a piece of her sandwich dipping it in the soup before shoving it in my mouth.
“You almost ready?” She asks as I look down at the food pausing to think for a moment.
“Yes, I’m ready when you are.” I respond taking another bite as the room goes silent and we both sit thinking about what we will say.

We finally decide to get up and get to the grand hall, walking through the pack just makes you realize how much sorrow is in the air. Our pack is hurting as a whole and it will take so much time to heal. Family’s have lost fathers and sons in the battle mothers cries can be heard across the land and the devastation has touched us all.

The elders are already sitting behind their big wooden desks when Valerie and I walk in.
“Hello lady’s it’s good to see you.” Atticus says with a small smile as Oliver looks over to us to speak.
“We really wish it was on better circumstances.” He says softly as we all bow our heads for a moment.

“We are here to discuss the recent events that have taken place as well as future plans for the pack.” Ethan cuts the silence as his loud voice booms through the room.
“Well as you know Emmett was killed in battle by Alpha Evan, we also managed to take out a large number of the rogues.” I start as the elders sit patiently listening. “We also lost Marco and Spencer.” I stop as Valerie’s head drops Spencer was close with Valerie’s mate, they got to know each other very well. Marco took over for the last beta after he passed, Valerie was never interested in being beta she always preferred the administrative side.

The room is silent during my pause waiting for someone to speak.
“So we will be needing a new beta?” Atticus asks as I nod looking down.
“Yes, we were thinking of holding a tournament to choose the next beta once Evan is healed.” I say as the elders all nod in agreement.
“Ok keep us updated on the tournament, oh and did I also hear about a mating ceremony coming up?” Oliver says calmly and Valerie and I both smile brightly.

“We think it would be really good for everyone, mating ceremonies bring happiness, we are planing on inviting the surrounding packs as well.” I say as Atticus smiles and my eyes flash to him.
“Is there something wrong?” I ask softly as he lightly giggles.
“No Luna! You’ve been doing really good. I’m sure I speak on behalf of the other elders when I say we are all very proud of how far you’ve come.” He states and I smile as pride overwhelms me.

We spend a few hours talking about building plans for the pack when it starts to get dark out and the elders finally dismiss us from our meeting. Valerie walks me back to my place as we chat and joke along the way about the mating ceremony, it feels good to be excited for something again.

Walking in I find Evan on the couch watching a movie wrapped in a big fuzzy blanket.
“Welcome home my little mate, how was your day?” He asks as my heart flutters to the sound of his voice.
“It was alright, the board approved of the ceremony and the tournament and I’m really tired.” I say throwing my body down on the couch beside him. “How are you feeling?” I ask softly with my eyes closed and I try and concentrate on his voice.
“Good actually I’m not very sore today I think I might return to Alpha duty’s the day after tomorrow.” He says and I can feel his smile as he sits beside me staring at me while I’m to tired to even pick my head up.

“Well that’s good maybe I can take a day to sleep then.” I say in a snarky tone as a giggle slips out.
“Won’t be much sleeping going on.” He responds in a deep sexy voice as my eyes flash open and I look over to him, being injured we haven’t had sex in a couple weeks and it’s been killing me with anticipation.
“Are you sure its ok?” I ask looking down nervously.
‘Mmm you tell me.” He reply’s and my whole body lights on fire.

His lips hit my skin and little sparks ignite as my body comes to life burning with anticipation, a small moan escapes as I lean back enjoying the feeling.
“Mm I missed you.” I say softly reaching up to his head running my fingers through his hair, his body pressed in to mine sends me in to a trance.

“I’ve missed you as well.” He responds in a low voice as I feel his breath spread across my neck making my body twitch in delight. I flip myself on top of him with my hands on either side of his face as I look deeply in to his eyes, the brightness returned as they sparkle against the light like crystals again.

I grind myself in to him as he moans sharply and I pull my shirt off, his hands run up my body and I shiver to his touch. My heart pounds in my chest as he slides his jogging pants down revealing his hard swollen member as I bite my lip.
“It’s been too long.” I say softly as his hands pull away at my skirt.
“No more waiting.” He claims as he pushes himself in to me and I arch back as pleasure pulses through me, my body twitches on him as I move along him feeling myself drip down his hard cock thrusting inside me.

We both collapse on to the couch side by side as the movie plays in the back ground and our breathing matches as we start to come down. We snuggle together enjoying each others comfort as I slip in to a hard sleep, allowing my exhaustion to take me under consuming me.
