Chapter 56.
Alisons POV

We sit in the Alpha wing of the medic centre for hours Lorenzo left to check on the warriors and pack members while I continue to stare out the window with the worst thoughts flying through my mind. We’re not done yet, so he can’t die. We haven’t had a chance to get started with our lives yet and we still have so much to do together, so much to experience.

Valerie suddenly stands up wiping her hands down her jeans as she inhales deeply.
“I’m going to go get some food for you.” She says before I have a chance to respond, she takes off out the door and I’m sitting alone waiting as time slows with each minute. A few more moments pass as I watch the clock and Emily finally comes in, my eyes snap to her with concern as she prepares to speak.

“Doctor Blair is almost finished it was touch and go for a little bit, there was a lot of bleeding in the stomach which we handled he also had a punctured lung as well as a lot of lacerations.” She says before taking a deep breath to continue. “He’s going to be sore for a week or so but he will be ok.” She says hugging me as my tears burst from my eyes again and I feel my face swell.

“He’s going to be ok Alison.” She repeats again as her arms form tighter around me.
“I thought he was going to die Emily.” I respond through broken words trying to control my emotions and my mind spins trying to adjust to the information she has now given to me.

“It’s ok he will be fine and you can take him home tomorrow as long as there’s no complications.” She finishes as she pulls me away from her holding on to my shoulders.
“I need to go back in with doctor Blair now, I will bring Evan in soon.” She turns leaving the room as I lay down on the couch finally able to relax a little bit and my heart beat calms. This whole night has been a mess, my body sinks in to the soft fabric as the exhaustion hits me and the adrenaline fades.

Valerie comes in handing me a big salad and a fork as I tell her what Emily told me, she sits beside me on the love seat as I try to eat my food feeling more sick with each bite. I set it aside and stand, starting to pace the room as Emily finally comes back wheeling Evan in with a few other nurses help. He lays silent still asleep hooked up to multiple machines all beeping and making all sorts of noises.

“He will heal slower due to how much blood he lost.” Doctor Blair says walking in to the room and I hug him quickly as I fight back tears.
“Thank you Blair.” I respond softly as he hugs me back gently patting my back.
“He’s lucky to be alive Luna.” He says as I nod pulling away to join my Alpha in his bed.

Everyone leaves the room as I gently snuggle in to Evan listening to his breathing and heart beat trying to drown out the machines. I lay against him as I finally fully relax Emmett is dead, the worst is behind us and Evan and I can start our lives together. I float in my day dreams of our future as my mind slowly fades and I slip in to a comfortable sleep beside my mate.


I feel Evan stir as my eyes flash open looking right in to his, they look duller then normal like a pale blue. A small smile crosses his face before he flinches and I gently move away from him.
“Oh sorry, are you ok?” I ask softly as he nods trying to adjust himself.
“What happened?” He asks as I pour him a glass of water walking back over to him, I explain the parts of the battle I know.
“I’m sorry Alison.” He says turning his head away from me and I place my hands on either side of his face not understanding what he could possibly be sorry for.

“Evan you did it, you killed Emmett and you’re alive. There’s nothing for you to be sorry about, we won.” I say softly shrugging my shoulders as we both smile and I feel the happiness flow off him in waves filling my body as it glitters with joy.

“I love you so much, I was so scared you were going to die.” I say looking down as shame wash’s over me.
“I don’t like how I can’t help the pack at all, I’m human.” I say with sadness as his face turns and he looks in to my eyes deeply.

“Alison the pack has been thriving since you came, we expanded our pack lands, you’ve improved the library and school, we have witches in the pack. We will grow the pack together, being human doesn’t make you any less valuable to the pack. First thing we do when I’m better is hold a mating ceremony.” He says happily as I giggle softly.

“We haven’t done a mating ceremony in a few years so I’m sure the other packs will be wanting to join.” He finishes as I sit in his bed listening to him ramble on happily. “Well I guess a mating ceremony it is.” I tell him as I lay my head on his chest and he pulls me to him.

We lay together as the sun sets outside our window and darkness creeps in, and for the first time in weeks I feel safe. Laying in my Alphas arms we spend the night talking about the ceremony to plan and my mind drifts to children.

“I want to try for another baby.” I blurt out softly looking down as he smiles brightly and I feel butterflies erupt through my body.
“I want a family with you and if I’ve learned anything from what we’ve been through over the last few months it’s that life is short and I don’t want to waist anymore time.” I say to him as he pulls me tighter and I hear his heart beat pick up. We lay like this for a while before we both finally fall in to a deep sleep.

A nurse knocks on the door before coming in and I squint looking up to her as my eyes try to adjust.
“Sorry to bug you Luna but I need to check his wounds and run a few tests before doctor Blair comes in to discharge you.” She says softly and I nod slowly getting up from the bed and Evan grumbles moving around.

“Evan, Evan.” I say a few times trying to wake him as he just groans.
“The nurse needs to examine you, Evan wake up.” I say again as one eye shoots open looking at me.
“I’m getting up.” He grumbles again making me giggle as I move to the love couch allowing the nurse to bug him while I try to call Valerie to bring some breakfast.

Soon Doctor Blair shows up with his discharge papers and we’re almost ready to go home. The pack ground are a mess from the battle and I’m grateful Lorenzo is having his men stay to help clean up the damage and rebuild.

Until Alpha Evan is able to resume, Lorenzo and I will be the ones cleaning and repairing the pack. I guess Valerie and I also have a mating ceremony to plan, Evan also mentioned how he wants to start doing the full moon run every month with the pack again.

I make plans and phone calls as Evan talks with Blair about his home care until he’s healed when Emily walks up carrying Salem and I smile as I take him from her.
“Hey buddy! I’ve missed you.” I say in a sweet voice as his arms wrap around my neck.
“I’ve missed you too!” He shouts as excitement pours from his little body.
“I got to sleep over at aunty Valerie’s last night and Parker build a pillow Fort with me! We got to sleep in it.” He says rocking back and forth explaining his night.

“You had fun with aunty I see.” I say laughing as he giggles nuzzling in to me.
“Do you want to come see Evan for a bit?” I ask him as he nods moving his head up and down in a dramatic manor. God I love this kid, I think to myself as his beautiful eyes glimmer and I walk him over to Evans bed.

“Hey buddy!” Evan says pulling Salem up on to his bed.
“Are you coming home today.” Salem’s little voice says softly as my heart melts watching them.
“Yes I am buddy as after a few days when I heal a bit me, you and Alison are going to take a little trip.” Evan says winking at me and I look to him confused, go where now? I think to myself.

Salem giggles happily holding on to Evan as Doctor Blair comes back in with the last of our paperwork to sign, Evans labs were good so we are now able to go home and allow Evan to finish healing.
