Chapter 64.
Alisons POV
I peel my eyes open as I come too, Evan is gently shaking my shoulder.
“Alison, come on it’s time to get up.” He says and my eyes begin to come in to focus, the rooms lightly lite and my brain struggles to figure out what’s happening.
“It’s morning Alison, we need to see the packs before they leave.” He says again as I sit up blinking hard and he jumps back.
“Well good morning my little mate.” He says laughing and I wipe the sleep from my eyes trying to un scatter my brain.
“Good morning.” I say in a sleepy tone clearing my throat as I look to the clock 7:30 good goddess 4 and a half hours of sleep.
“Ok here we go.” I declare hopping out of bed and in to the shower to wake myself up, I only take a few minutes before jumping out, drying off and brushing my teeth.
I run in to the bedroom and see Evan already dressed looking hot as hell, I also see a little mint green sun dress with a tie back laying on the bed.
“I got it for you when I was at the market the other day.” Evan says and I smile brightly picking it up admiring it as my towel falls from my body, I quickly dry off and slip in to the dress. I add some eye liner and mascara, slip in to some flats and we’re ready to start our day.
We meet the packs outside as everyone is cleaning up getting ready to head back to their own territory’s. We see everyone off as the day goes on, Lorenzo approaches us before all the packs are gone.
“Alpha, Luna I think you should come back to our pack, I need some help with the missing wolves and I really think it would be beneficial.” He says looking to me and Evan.
“We would need time to get ready as well as find someone to leave in charge of our pack, seeing as everything’s calmed down here though I can’t see why not.” Evan responds looking over to me in confirmation and I nod my head.
I make our bags for us to stay a week at Lorenzo’s pack, seeing as Valerie was once the beta’s daughter Evan has decided to leave her and Parker in charge of the pack, the beta tournament will be held once we return. Lorenzo’s right, we need to get ahead of the situation before it starts.
Evan loads the car and I bring my last bag down as Valerie holds Salem standing at the porch to our house. I kiss Salem good bye and hug Valerie before getting in the car with Evan as they wave us off. I lay back in the seat closing my eyes, it’s a bit of a drive to the Clearwater pack and I didn’t get much sleep so I’m taking my chance and catching a nap before we arrive.
We get to the Clearwater pack after following Lorenzo for hours, it’s pitch black out and you can’t see more then a few feet in front of us. Pulling up to a large lit up pack house I see 3 wolves standing at the porch waiting for us, we get out after Lorenzo as the wolves seem frantic trying to speak with their Alpha.
“Alpha! There was an attack 3 wolves were killed.” The one says as Lorenzo listens, Gemma standing just behind him as sorrow washes over us.
“Ok slow down just tell me what happened.” Lorenzo says calming his wolves.
“2 wolves came through the south side we sent a team of 5 out to take care of them, only 2 returned. The 2 that did return were badly injured, they should be awake soon.” The young she wolf says softly as her head drops and she looks down.
“Ok let’s go see them.” Lorenzo says walking off as we all follow.
“Oh by the way this is Alpha Evans and his Luna Alison.” He says introducing us to the she wolf. “This is Lindsey, she handles guard duty and training, she’s one of our top warriors.” He turns speaking to us as we continue walking to the clinic.
We walk in to see a small waiting room with a few nurses, Lorenzo walks us down a hallway leading to patient rooms. The first one we go in to has a large man laying in the bed, scrapes and blood all over him. He has an oxygen mask on and tubes all over, next to him is the other large man with his condition just as bad. My mouth drops looking at the wounds as the one mans eyes flutter open, goddess this never gets easier.
“Alpha..” The man stutters out and Lorenzo walks to his bedside.
“What happened out there Rico?” Lorenzo says touching his shoulder gently as the man looks like he’s about to cry.
“We went out in 5 to stop the rogues, there was only 2 of them but they were vicious. Aggressive and angry, they were sloppy fighters but strong almost like they were amped up by something.” He speaks through broken words.
“What do you mean by amped up?” Evan asks stepping forward.
“Their eyes were red and almost swollen, they were stronger then us, faster and more ruthless. It was like they were fighting through us, they were also bigger then us by a foot.” The man in bed says as the other groans.
I pull Gemma aside letting the men talk, we step out of the hospital room and sit in the chair for the waiting area.
“How has Luna life been?” I ask with a small giggle as I turn towards her.
“It’s been really good, my Luna ceremony is at the end of this month and I feel really good about it.” She answers and I smile softly to her. “Lorenzo is amazing and honestly after having my brother as an Alpha this is so much better.” She says with a dreamy look as she smiles getting lost in thought.
“What is it?” I ask giggling as she blushes brightly before answering.
“I’m pregnant Alison.” She says happily and I can’t contain my excitement.
“How far? Oh Gemma I’m so happy for you.” I say in one quick sentence as she laughs loudly.
“Only about 5 weeks so it’s still early, we’re not telling anyone yet.” She says looking to her hands. “I wanted to tell you and Evan first, I mean you both helped me so much and I have this beautiful life thanks to you. I guess it happened when Lorenzo nod I first met.” She says softly.
“Well I understand that, and you don’t need to thank us, your mate was chosen by the moon goddess and your destiny lead you to him.” I answer as her smile returns. “How does Lorenzo feel about a new baby?” I ask holding her hands in mine.
“He’s really happy, he’s excited to be a dad that’s for sure.” She says giggling and we continue chatting until the boys return.
We all decide to get dinner together before going to Lorenzo’s office to start reviewing the data he collected. The chef prepared a beautiful roast with rosemary, chives, potatoes, carrots and broccoli. Everything is delicious and the company is perfect, it ends up being a really enjoyable night.
We go in to Lorenzo’s office as there’s maps pinned everywhere, a desk full of papers and pictures posted all over the walls. I take a few minutes to look around at everything as the guys are already getting in to it.
“So far I’ve pulled all the missing wolves from each pack in the area, as well as everyone whose been banished from those packs in the last 5 years.” Lorenzo says pulling out pack records. “There’s been a lot of weird patterns to the disappearances.” He continues as Gemma and I sit down listening.
“Basically I think someone is kidnapping wolves that won’t be noticed and building an army of some kind, Rico said they were bigger then normal wolves.” He says out loud almost a question as Evan chimes in.
“Red eyes, strength, rage, delusions. I think I’ve heard of something similar in one of the pack books I’ll call Valerie and ask her to look.” Evan says and Lorenzo agrees.
“Rogues are normally weaker then normal wolves, not having the strength of the pack behind them leaves them weak. They have to have a leader if they haven’t fallen apart yet and become wild.” Gemma says softly as the boys turn to us.
“She’s right, rogues normally end up being wild animals giving in to instinct, if they are still able to make a plan of attack, they have to still be somewhat civilized?” Evan states as we all quiet down.
“If they weren’t working for Emmett who were they working for?” Evan states in confusion as we all pause.
“Emmetts eyes were weird when i was fighting him, I didn’t think anything of it until now.” He says as Lorenzo chimes in
“Ok you talk with Valerie, we’ll table this for the night and come back to it in the morning.” Lorenzo says closing his book as I get up standing beside Evan.
“Your room is across from mine Well show you there.” Lorenzo finishes as we all leave the office.
