Chapter 60.

Alisons POV

It will be a good day today I can feel it. I woke up in a great mood and I’m actually feeling more normal, the mating ceremony is tomorrow and I’m happy.

Evan gets dressed wearing a pair of jeans and tight black V neck, goddess my mate is hot, I think to myself as my heart flutters watching his toned muscles flex while he moves. I lay in my bed in my towel staring out the window, the sun shines in warming the room as I hear the door open.
“I’ll see you soon my little mate.” He says softly giving me a wink before the door closes and I take a deep breath getting up to start my day.

I toss on a peach coloured sun dress before going to get Salem from his bed to get ready for school. I find him sitting on his little carpet playing with his cars, he looks up to me and brightly smiles. His smile always warms my heart.
“Good morning Alison!” He says getting up to hug me tightly, I wrap my arms around his little body hugging him back as his happy aura fills the room.
“Hey buddy, we need to get ready for school.” I say softly and he runs to his closet pulling out his cloths. I help him get dressed and we head down to the kitchen for some breakfast.

Walking in I smell hot syrup and hear Salem yell as he lets go of my hand running to the table, the chef sets a plate down in front of him and he grabs his fork, his little eyes go as big as they can.
“PANCAKES!” He shouts before shoving a huge piece in his mouth as the chef laughs before patting his shoulder and leaving. I love how much everyone has accepted the merger, and how everyone treats Salem.

We finish our food before I drop Salem off at school and go find Valerie, I find her in the court yard demanding wolves around like usual as I chuckle walking up.
“Hey, how close are we?” I ask looking around at all the progress we’ve made.

“Statues have been replaced, tile is being redone. I’m hoping to have the fountain running by tonight, we just have a lot of clean up left to do.” She says turning to me as she places her clip board down.
“Ok well we have close to 10 packs coming for the ceremony tomorrow, we need to finish getting ready to house at least 60 from each pack.” I say as she nods writing everything down, I give her a list of the packs attending so she can have our temp tents set up for everyone to stay in.

“Ok I’ll have the wolves set up the tents and I’ll plan decorations for the ceremony outside, you go make sure the chefs are ready to accommodate that many for the weekend. I’ll send some of our hunters out and see what they come back with.” She responds and we both agree parting ways to get our tasks done.

In the main kitchen I find lots of servers and cooks running around baking muffins, washing veggies and prepping food.
“Oh hello Luna, do you have an idea of when the packs will be arriving?” Everly asks anxiously as I nod in response.

“The first packs will be arriving in the morning and staying two days.” I answer as she nods turning to go back to her work and I stop her.
“We will be having a buffet the last day everyone is here, after the hunt that is.” I say as she smiles happily.
“Ok I will make sure we have lots of sides and salads for after the hunt, I will also have the grill set up in the court yard.” She answers with a smile as I politely nod before continuing my rounds.

I spend a few hours making sure everything will be ready for tomorrow, the grand hall is set up with beautiful iridescent shimmering drapes with flowing silk fabric wrapped around the pillars. I decide to set up the flower arrangement before having to get Salem from school when Emily comes skipping through the door.

“Hey! What are you up to!” She asks running up to my table.
“Arranging moon Lilly’s” I say clipping the stems and she grabs a flower playing with it.
“Are you excited for tomorrow?” She asks playing with some of the baby’s breath I have cut to add to the arrangement.
“Of coarse I am!” I say happily continuing my flowers feeling her sorrow flow off of her.
“Aren’t you?” I say looking up and notice her body freeze.

“I’m scared.” She says without another word.
“Well that’s understandable.” I respond touching her shoulder softly.
“I think I’m going to sit this one out, I don’t think I could run through the forest with the feeling of being hunted.” She states coldly playing with her fingers and I stop with the flowers.
“Ok well then you attend the party and the celebration, when we go out for the moon light run and hunt you and Blair can skip it and go home. You have your mate anyways you don’t need to come to the mating.” I explain as she smiles softly looking up to me nodding.

“Thank you, Blair has been been really good through all of this honestly I don’t know how he has so much patience.” She says and we both continue placing the flowers in their vases.
“Well Emily he’s your mate, he loves you he will have all the patience in the world for you.” I answer with a smile and she laughs.

“Did you ever think this is what would happen?” She asks and I look at her with confusion.
“What do you mean?”I ask back not understanding what she means.
“We came from a small town Alison, no one knows anything about the wolves or packs. We grew up thinking they were beasts, then we were taken and I believed that they were beasts.” She says looking down before continuing. “Then I came here and Blair has shown me so much more, all of you. I got to see how the wolves actually live, I just never thought I’d make it here.” She says and I see a small smile spread across her face.

“Well you’ve been through a lot Emily, it’s ok to feel happy.” I say softly as I hug her holding on to her tightly.
“Thank you Alison, I love you. You really have been the only consistent thing I can count on in my life, I wouldn’t be here if you never got Evan to come and get me.” She says smiling before we finish up the vases.
“Do you want to come get Salem with me?” I ask as she laughs happily.
“Yes!” She answers and we both leave, taking one last look at the grand hall admiring it before we take off.

We bring Salem back to the house to get dinner ready for Evan as he plays in his room, our chefs are all in the main pack house. I make chicken pasta as Emily sets the table and we continue to chat, we decide to invite Blair over for dinner as well to tell Evan their plans for tomorrow night, before the mating they will take Salem back here and stay with him until the ceremony is over.

Our dinner was lovely and for the first time in a long time we were all able to get together and have fun without something bad happening or a tragic event, we just sit and enjoy one another’s company chatting and having a good time.

I bath Salem and get him in pyjamas while Evan cleans up after dinner, he joins me to put Salem to bed and we sit reading a story to him. I play with his hair as Evan reads to him and my heart flutters listening to his soft soothing voice. Salem is soon fast asleep in my lap, Evan and I giggle gently tucking him in before heading off to our room.

“Can you believe how big he’s getting, it’s like he grows an inch each day.” I say feeling my heart hurt knowing he won’t be small forever.
“Well wolves do grow quicker then humans.” Evan responds with a chuckle mocking me as I nudge him for making fun of me.

We both get changed and climb in to bed, my body’s exhausted and I feel my muscles sink in to our bed as my body forms to Evans. My skin sparkles from his touch as my breathing calms and we both slip in to a wonderful comforting sleep.
