Chapter 109

Danny’s POV
“I have given Jason a few days off to spend with his and Tracey’s family” I tell Oliver; coming into his office. “I have given Connor a few days off also. He said he was fine because he saw Tracey last night, but I insisted” Oliver informs me.
Claudia told me, we got permission to have Connor speak with Tracey and the way Amanda was acting when she got back; he was happy to have spoken with her.
“What are we going to do with all the prisoners?” Todd asks as I sit in the chair next to him. “That is what we are here to discuss” Dad tells him.
I haven’t had a very good feeling since the attack happened. Dad, Claudia and Simon have also shown their concerns. We want to have a discussion with everyone.
“Matthew said Penelope and Michael were arguing with Josiah and Alexis about those that fled. Since Todd told me yesterday; I haven’t had a good feeling about it” I announce to the room. “I have asked Matthew to come. He is delayed with some pack business at the moment. He will be… never mind” Oliver responds as Matthew and David come into the room.
“Sorry for my tardiness; I was appointing David as my new Betta” Matthew says, sitting down next to Todd and I. “Congratulations Dave; you will make a great Betta” Oliver says, giving him a smile.
“Under the circumstances; I am happy with the promotion. We need to discuss what we are going to do about the number of people in our dungeon. I wouldn’t be surprised you are experiencing the same as what we are. The fighting we are witnessing is beyond anything we would tolerate in our pack. There is a wolf in particular by the name of Fredrick; physically hurting others in the cell with him. We have had to isolate him” David replies.
This is what I was worried about. I haven’t been involved with rogues before. What I have been told; they are very unpredictable and often the longer they have not been a part of a pack; they become feral and attack friend and foe.
“Does anyone know what pack Fredrick had belong to before and what he did to have him cast out of it?” I ask, looking at Todd, Dad and Matthew.
“Umm, yes; I do. He was a member of the Meadow Moon Pack before Grayson became Alpha. Gray’s father-in-law was Alpha at the time. From what he was telling me; he was cast out 17 years ago for killing his mate and child. He was getting drunk and physically abusing them. Even though he was in anger management counselling before any of this happened; it didn’t help him much” Matthew explains as Jesse lets out a growl in my head.
“Physical violence resulting in death; is grounds for a harsher penalty than being cast out. An eye for an eye, so to speak. Although I don’t condone capital punishment; there is merit to it on some cases” Dad injects to the conversation.
“Yeah; about that. Fredrick is Grayson’s brother-in-law. Laurence didn’t want to kill his son for what he did. He did the next best thing and cast him out. He was supposed to take over as Alpha, the roll went to Grayson and his mate Matilda” Matthew concludes and I look around the room. The stunned silence speaks for itself.
“We know; these followers of Michael and Callum’s are rogue. They do not know anything else but violence and anger to survive. What do we propose to do with them? We could cast them away, but who is to say they won’t attack us again” Todd injects into the conversation.
I still get shocked with his insight, sometimes. Dad says he is learning to become a very good Alpha and is proud of his achievement. I am proud to call him my brother. **“There’s a memory for the book. You; proud to have Todd as your brother”** Jesse chuckles at me.
**“Regardless of our past; he has stepped up and made amends. Something I never thought he would or could do. Don’t get me wrong; I am still wary of him. I will always be because of how he treated me. But people can change; he is living proof”** I smile, looking towards Todd. **“Why don’t you tell the rest of the room”** Jesse responds, giving me some encouragement.
“Why don’t we give them an option?” I inject to the conversation. “An option? What option?” Matthew remarks.
“An option to join a pack, pride, clan or coven. People can change if given an opportunity to do so. We have living proof right here” I inform them, pointing to Todd. The grin on Todd’s face looks as though he caught the biggest fish in the sea for everyone to see.
“And what will happen if they join and cause havoc?” Oliver questions, looking more towards Dad than I.
“Danny has a point. We can offer them the chance to join a pack. There will be provisions to this; if they step out of line, there will be harsh consequences. If they do not want to; and it sounds to me Fredrick doesn’t, they do not have to. Give them the choice to remain rouge” Dad explains and I look over to him. “We can let them know, if they attack us; we won’t hesitate to kill them” I include to Dad’s thoughts.
“Matthew, Todd; what are your thoughts?” Oliver asks them. I can’t figure out if they agree with what we are saying or not.
“I can’t speak for Todd; but I can see problems no matter which way we tackle the situation. We can try offering the chance. I may even allow Barnaby back into my pack. He will never be my Betta again and will have to live with the decision of his actions” Matthew voices and we all look at Todd.
“I don’t want Uncle Craig a part of my pack, if that’s why everyone is looking at me. I do agree with Alpha Henry and Danny. Give them a choice and go from there. If they choose to join a pack, we can deal with placement on who will take them. If they choose to remain rogue; we can deal with where they want to go” he responds and I smile at him.
“Now for the problem of Michael, Penelope and their children” Oliver states and we all slump back in our chairs.
“Dianna” dad proclaims, looking around the room. “Excuse me?” David says. “Dianna wants to deal with him” Dad elaborates to the room.
“Given the circumstances, I would be happy for a woman scorned to deal with what he deserves. In her case; I don’t think it is wise” Oliver tells him and Dad puts his hand up to explain further. “I agree with what you are saying, Oliver. She had come to me and asked to get some closure for what he has done in the past. We shouldn’t deny her” he concludes and Oliver nods his head as a knock comes on the door.
“Excuse the intrusion” Jeffrey says, coming into the room. “Matthew, there is a problem with one of your prisoners. He attacked young Eli as he was being interrogated. Brett intervened but not before Eli was seriously hurt. He had Amanda go and help him and he is fine now…” “Was it Fredrick?” Matthew demands, cutting Jeffrey off.
“It was Josiah. The problem was, he watched as Claudia came to him with Amanda. I believe the attack was staged to see who would come to help” Jeffrey announces and I let off a growl.
“Where was Michael?” Dad demands, raising his voice slightly.
“Michael, Penelope and Alexis were still in the cell. They haven’t sent Josiah back to the cell yet. They believe he has already told them what happened” Jeffrey continues and Jesse pushes me back into my mind.
“I want the four of them. They will not have another opportunity to watch my mate” he spits, getting out of the chair as Todd and Dad grab my arms to hold him back. “Jesse; you will have the opportunity. We need to do this the right way” Todd whispers to him and he lets me come forward again.
“Jesse’s full on pissed” I chuckle as Todd and Dad lets go of my arms. “We can see that” Oliver announces and I sit down again. “I’ll tell Brett to bring Josiah here. Do we have a spare cell for him?” Todd asks Oliver.
“Not really…” “Put him in with Barnaby and Rebecca. I want to give them the chance to help us instead of hurt us” Matthew injects as Todd’s eyes glaze over. “Can we go see them, before Brett brings him over here” Dave includes.
“I will take you to them” Jeffrey says as all three men walk out of the room. “The meeting is over for now” Oliver chuckles as Dad, myself and Todd get out of our chairs and leave.
