Chapter 116

Claudia’s POV
Phyllis came and saw us last night. Alexis wasn’t entirely sure what had happened to Brenda. All she knew was Dorothy and her mother were releasing them from the holding cell when she ran past Brenda on the floor to the council chambers and her throat had been slit. Danny suggested for them to see Isabella to help Alexis through her trauma.
**“We need to tell everyone what actually did happen”** Amanda says to me as Danny and I head out of our room to Danny’s office. **“At least Matthew got some closure and he finally saw your sanctuary”** I answer her.
“Everyone, come in and take a seat. Amanda, Matthew, Simon and I went to speak with Brenda last night to find out what happened” Danny says to the group of people standing outside his office door.
“Dorothy approached Brenda and Penelope. She said she had a score to settle with Penelope and before Brenda could react; Dorothy had slit her throat” Simon explains as everyone took a seat.
“From what we know from there; Penelope and Dorothy went to the holding cell to get Alexis and Josiah when Alexis ran and Penelope threatened to kill her with the rest of us” Phyllis includes as Todd opens his mouth before shutting it again.
“What is it, Todd?” Dad asks him.
“Brett said they never went out the front gate. That would mean, they haven’t left the castle grounds or they left in a different direction” he answers as we all turn to Campbell.
“They are not on the castle grounds” he tells everyone. “They used one of the old secret passageways to leave and before any of you say anything; I want to be the one to kill her.”
“I sealed those passageways when Callum tried to take Tracey to begin with” Oliver exclaims looking over at Campbell. “You did sir; however, she used the one that leads to the Silver Pride grounds” Campbell explains.
“That would have been nice to know” Todd snarls at him as Danny places a hand on his brother.
“It’s been years since they have been used. I only found the passageway yesterday when I was told what Dorothy had done. I didn’t believe you, until I found the note she left in her room. She asked me to join her and how to get out of the castle undetected” Campbell informs us.
“If she knew about the tunnel, that meant Callum did also. We could have been ambushed and not even knew it” Sariah gasps and Campbell put his hand up again.
“No. The tunnel was sealed with the others. It was recently cleared. I am hoping she didn’t have help inside the castle grounds” he tells everyone as Oliver looks directly at Campbell, no doubt he is mind linking him. “How can you ask me that?” he questions out loud. “I did not help her. I would never have helped her; even if she asked.”
“I believe you” I tell Campbell. I can feel the truthfulness of his words through my aura. Danny, Dad and Todd all nod their head in agreeance.
“Thank you” Campbell responds.
“I don’t think they are in the Silver Pride territory. Brett, Rick, Dave and Eli went over there. The place is still deserted. Barnaby wanted to go with them; under the circumstances, I said no. We have conducted all but one trial; Josiah’s. Penelope can try and ask for help. I can’t guarantee she will get it” Matthew states, coming into the office.
“Matthew, you and your pack are grieving” Danny says as Matthew takes a seat. “There will always be some who will help. Those that chose to become rouge again, possibly” he includes as he sees Matthew give him a look, he himself has given on many occasions to say I want to find those responsible.
“Sally got hold of a few of them at the Sapphire Moon territory. They said they will keep an eye out. Most of them are willing to defend the territory” Phyllis explains as I feel we are back to square one again.
“Who else has a sense of DeJa’Vu?” Raquel sighs, letting out a long breath.
**“We do”** Mandy states, giving off a snicker in my mind. “I do, I guess. I feel like we are back to square one” I tell everyone.
“First things, first. We need to find where Dorothy and Penelope went. Contact anyone and everyone we can trust to try and locate them” Oliver announces drawing in a long breath of his own.
I can see Danny mentally counting to 10 as he had his eyes closed. As soon as he opens them; he continues our train of thought “If we can’t find them. We may need to send some scouts out to track them down. I will have Jason and Rick on standby.”
“I’ll also put Brett and Tim on standby. The more the merrier; hey lil’ bro?” Todd adds as Danny winces slightly at being called lil’ bro again. “I’ll still continue to call you that” Todd includes with a chuckle.
**“What did Goddess Selene tell you?”** I asked Amanda, hoping she will put light onto the subject. **“We are not in immediate danger. She hasn’t given any indications where they are”** she responds and I purse my lips together.
“Has Apollo, Hacate, Artio or Bastet given any of you any indication where they might be? We were only told we are not in immediate danger” I voice my conversation with Amanda.
“No; only the same thing you were told” Sariah states. “Same” Phyliss and Raquel say together as we all look over to Oliver.
“To tell you the truth; I haven’t even asked him” Oliver begins, pouting as though he should have thought about asking Apollo. “Milly put her foot down last night and told me to take some time out with the stresses of the trials and what happened over the last month.”
“We all need to do that” Todd exclaims and we all turn our focus onto him. “If we aren’t in immediate danger; let’s take some time off to spend with our families and recuperate. If for some reason the danger factor changes, we can address it.”
Simon, Dad and Danny’s mouth gapes open to Todd’s statement. “I think that is a great idea. I know we are supposed to stay together. However, I want to take Crystal and Kimmy back and see how the clan is doing” Raquel pipes in.
“We can stay here. Be and I will be helping Sally set up the Silver Pride for her to take over” Phyllis states, looking around the room. “Alexis is keen to help her aunt as well.”
“We might be able to take a trip down to the Cedar River territories to check up on them” Todd includes with his thoughts.
“After the baby is born. You are not galivanting around and leaving me when I am due in 3 weeks and 5 days” Joanna snarls at Todd as everyone else muffles their laughter.
“I would never dream of it, Bunny” Todd sighs, looking defeated. He was complaining Joanna is throwing everything he owned out as she was nesting and was bugging us no stop to be away from her as she does. “I was thinking we will go after little Cameron Scott is born.”
“Sure, you were” I snicker as Todd gives me a death stare.
“I for one, need to spend time with family” Dad states, getting out of my chair and heads for the doorway.
“I will go get Sophia from the nursery and meet you back at our room” I add to Danny, giving him a kiss before exiting the room. **“It will be good to spend some time, just Danny, Sofia and I”** I tell Amanda. **“Yes. I will still try and see if Goddess Selene or Demi Goddess Mumma Wolf have anymore information for us”** she replies, sensing she feels we won’t have much luck with it.
**“We can just keep asking. As long as we aren’t in any danger for the moment; I am happy to just lay low”** I tell her as I continue to the nursery to get Sophia.
**“I’ll keep you informed”** Amanda tells me, slinking to the back of mind. I know she will, but until Penelope, Josiah and Dorothy are found, we won’t be taking it too easy. This much I know for sure.
