Chapter 40

Danny’s POV
“What are we doing here?” Oliver asks with curiosity. “We need someone to volunteer. We won’t hurt them; much” I answer him with a smirk. “I’ll volunteer” Leon exclaims putting his hand in the air; “What am I volunteering for?” he asks, looking in my direction. “I’m going to throw you” I answer, continuing to grin at him.
“Throw me; how?” he questions; looking a bit worried. “Like this?” I tell him; throwing a light from my hand, pushing Leon backwards, onto his ass. “What the fuck?” Sariah gasps as Leon gets off the ground; “I’m ok; what just happened?” he calls out to me. “We’ll explain everything once we are done with our demonstration” Dad tells everyone.
“Oliver; vampires are known for their speed. Am I correct?” I ask him. “Yes; there is nothing on earth that can keep up with us” he states, looking around. “I propose a race; Oliver against… Jason” I smile; winking at Jason. “I’ll let him change to Parker; give him more of a chance” Oliver chuckles, moving to the edge of the facility. “No need, twice around the training grounds should prove our point?” Jason states; “Prove what point?” Sariah questions as we all continue to grin and smirk at the trio.
“Are you both ready?” Claudia calls out and Jason and Oliver raise a hand. “On your marks; get set; go” she screams as two blurs run past us, moving around the arena. “What the fuck?” Sariah gasps again; as Jason speeds past Oliver. “How can this be?” Oliver asks, slowing down after one lap. “Do you have something we can use weapons on?” Dad asks Oliver. “What sort of weapons are we talking about?” “What weapon would you like us to use?” Tim answers him; with a question.
“I think we have some old archery targets in the store room for the humans in the kingdom to learn on. Vampires don’t have a need for weapons. I’ll see if I can get them out for you” he answers, going to the store room and retrieving an archery target. “Where do you want it set up?” “We’ll get it;” Rick says grabbing the target and moving it 50 metres in front of him and Tim. “Where’s your weapon?” Leon asks, noticing they don’t have a bow and arrow.
Tim and Rick look at him and smile; nodding to one another a bow and arrow appears from thin air; they both shoot at the targets; hitting the bullseye and the bow disappears again. “For the third time; what the fuck?” Sariah groans to us. “We have one more thing to show you. Oliver; vampires are also known for their strength, are they not?” Dad says to him. “Yes; but I’ve already had my ass handed to me today. Is there another way of showing Cynthia’s strength?” has states, looking at Cynthia. “How do you know it's Cyndy?” I smile at him; “because she’s the only one left to show us something” he answers, laughing.
“We have made our point” Simon replies; looking towards Dad and I. “I agree; we should head back to your office and we will explain everything to you” Dad informs Oliver, Sariah and Leon; heading back into the castle. I follow Dad and wait for Oliver to come, before heading into the office.
“Can you care to explain what was the point of your little demonstration?” Oliver asks, opening the office door and sitting behind his desk again. “We wanted to show you; Amanda and Claudia are not the only ones to have added abilities” I state, smiling at them. “Why did we not know about this?” Sariah asks, coming into the room.
“We have been using them for centuries. The legend has it; the white wolf is the only one with them and to an extent; she is the only one with healing power and we all can visit and talk with Goddess Selene via Amanda’s sanctuary. Goddess Selene gave us all an ability to help protect werewolves” I explain to the room.
“I didn’t know you all had a super power” Sariah tells us; “Your ancestors surely would have known?” Jason states, looking at her. “I don’t remember any of this either” Oliver states; looking at Jason again. “We cannot abuse these gifts; we will lose them” Rick tells him; “we keep it a secret for that reason” Tim includes.
“If you have kept it a secret, why tell us now?” Oliver asks us; looking directly at me. “Because I want people to stop chasing after Claudia and Amanda” I tell him, looking toward Claudia. “What we propose is Tim and Rick, go see Todd. Show him your new found skills; and let him tell James. See what happens from there” Dad informs everyone.
“What will happen if they do take them” Chelsea asks, terrified at the thought of Tim getting hurt or killed. “Chelsea; and you too Denise. We aren’t sure what is going to happen, we will be able to have you both see them if they do get taken and they can handle themselves; with the help of all the memories they have” I add trying to calm their fears.
“How can we go back? Last thing I said to Todd was, ‘you are a diabolical fuckwit, trying to get your brothers mate’ and he wasn’t happy with me” Rick chuckles. “I have learnt; James and Todd change their view of people, the moment they can see an advantage for themselves. Danny is a living example; he has something they both want. You both have an advantage; they will want and hope to have” Claudia explains to them.
“And if they try to hurt you; pull out a chain and start rattling it. Tell them I sent it for them” I chuckle as Dad, Mum, Tracey, Jason, Simon and Claudia all start laughing. “Are we missing the joke?” Rick asks, looking confused. “Danny strangled James until he was unconscious, with the chains on his wrists when Todd had him locked in the dungeon” Simon informs everyone; still chuckling to himself.
“Why didn’t you kill him then?” Leon asks, looking at me. “Because I couldn’t live with myself, killing someone for my own personal gain” “Spoken as Teancum would have done” Sariah states smiling to herself.
“Now we have an idea of what we can do; I want to show you all around the kingdom” Oliver says standing up from behind his desk. “Mum and Dad want to meet everyone too; they can’t wait to meet Jasper” Tracey announces. “I’ll invited them to dinner. I’ll tell Jeffery to give Connor the night off” Oliver proclaims. “Nah; he can earn his keep and serve us” Tracey giggles to Oliver.
“Let us freshen up; first” Mum states, looking at Oliver. “Sure; we can meet out the front of the castle after lunch, around 2pm” Oliver answers her.
“Do you want us to get the kids out of your play centre?” Denise asks, “If you wish; Lillian said they are all having fun and the carers are loving the babies. It’s been a while since they have had babies in the nursery” he chuckles; as we leave the office and head to our room. “Danny; Claudia can we chat with you a moment” Sariah says walking up behind us. “Sure” Claudia answers her as we head up the stairs; Leon and Sariah following behind us.
“As you know; Hecate gave us the ability to identify all the chosen shifters and offer any help to get rid of known threats. As it stands; you are the only ones to be reincarnated as I still have the bear shifter and cat shifter books in my possession” “We are aware, you still hold their books. You told us the day you came to the Cedar Moon packhouse when we first placed our hand on the book and received our memories” I tell Sariah.
“I knew about Tracey and Callum. Oliver got me to retrieve your book to add the memories and place a spell on her, to forget what she heard” “We didn’t know exactly, but we guessed as much” Claudia giggles. “I also told Yolanda where you were; to keep an eye on you after Luna Janelle told me what happened. You know her as Omega Sandra” she informs me. “The swimming instructor at the River Moon Pack? But Yoli belongs to Cedar Moon and didn’t look anything like Sandra” I gasp at her.
“Strange what a bit of makeup and change of hair colour can do” she giggles. “She worked at both pools. She also found out Claudia was at Cedar Moon Pack and knew Tracey was needed there. That is why she got in contact with Tracey after 18 years; telling her, she was her aunt. She had contacted me and asked me, where she was” she states, looking at us.
“This isn’t why you came in here, to tell us your involvement, regarding Tracey” “No Danny, it’s not. I am coming to you because I don’t think the threat is regarding all shifters, vampires and witches. I believe it’s a threat to werewolves only. Someone wants to reign over all werewolves. Is Michael that kind of wolf?” she asks us. Claudia fidgets with her hair a little bit as her eyes glaze over and then back again.
“Dad is on his way here” she says, looking at Sariah, as Dad comes into the room. “You want to know about Michael?” he asks, sitting down on the chair. “He was my best friend growing up. We were quite close, however; his ideas were very different to mine” Dad explains to us.
“What do you mean by different?” I ask, seeing how uncomfortable he is with having to answer the question. “Let’s just say; I was always searching for peace and he was always looking for a war. I don’t know what changed in him. It happened when we were young teenagers; 14 or 15. His father was the same and I put it down to genes. I thought his sons were different; but it turns out they were exactly like Michael. Scheming and conniving to get something they desired” Dad informs us; looking at Claudia.
“Sounds like someone else we know” I mumble under my breath. “Yes, it sounds very much like James and Todd” Dad answers; smiling. “Oh; I didn’t think you heard me” I laugh.
“Sariah wants to know; do we think Michael could want to reign over all werewolves? My experience with Alfie and Chris; the answer is yes; I believe he could want that. I want to ask you as you knew him personally, Dad” Claudia asks him. “I agree with you, sweetheart. I believe he could want that; or work with someone who could want that” Dad answers her.
“We could say the same for James and Todd. We at least know; James, Callum and Michael are talking to one another. We may not be sure who is instigating anything, but we can be sure they are all working together” I inform the group. “How are you going to get Rick and Tim to go back to River Moon Pack?” Sariah asks us. “Tim and Rick were Todd’s Betta and Gamma at one point. It shouldn’t be too hard” Dad says, giving a nervous chuckle as a knock comes on the door. “Lunch will be served shortly” Jeffery says, poking his head into the room.
“Thank you, Jeffery,” I note; as Dad gets up from his chair. “We will work out a plan together” he announces and heads out the door. “Let’s get some lunch, I am sure this talk will be happening over the next few days” I smile at Leon and Sariah as we all head out of our room down to the dining area.
