Chapter 111

Danny’s POV
“Matthew, my first question is; does Grayson know?” I ask him. “No; I have kept your past lives from him and I would like to leave it that way” he answers and a look of relief comes over my face.
We try not to get involved in our past lives; it complicates the life we are living now. “Please, only in private do you call me Grandpappy, in public Danny is fine” I laugh at him.
“That’s fine with me Grandpappy and I haven’t told Barnaby either. I’m not sure if he has figured out about Jason and Tracey. I think if he had, he wouldn’t have done what he did” Matthew mentions and Claudia gives another gasp.
“We need to sentence Michael, Penelope, Alexis and Josiah. The sooner the better” Oliver announces from the side of the room and Matthew’s eyes glaze over.
“Barnaby knows I am here and he wants to talk to us” Matthew announces, coming back to the room.
“About?” Todd asks. I understand his curiosity; we are both unsure if we want to see or talk to Barnaby after our last encounter with him. There was another scuffle with Todd and he, when Todd punched him in the face for stabbing him in the stomach. Barnaby didn’t take it very well; I got in between them and got hit and retaliated, breaking his nose. **“Not your finest hour”** Jesse snickers at me.
“Didn’t say, just said he wants to talk. With Josiah in there; it could be about anything” Matthew answers.
“I’m happy to oblige. I might ask Jason to sit in, he can have a word to his great grandson on how disappointed he is with him” I tell the room, giving off a smirk. I opened the mind link and asked Jason to come to Oliver’s office as Oliver asks Jeffrey to bring Barnaby. “We need to get to your office” I include to Oliver.
We all head out the doorway to Oliver’s office; “do you have any idea what it may be about?” I ask Matthew. “I can only think of one thing. He has information on what Michael is planning” he answers, shrugging his shoulders.
**“If we want Barnaby on our side; you need to bite the bullet and apologise to him”** Jesse tells me. **“I’m aware. I don’t want to do it, but for the benefit of everyone here, I will”** I answer him, contemplating on how I am going to apologise.
“Barnaby, you wanted to see us?” Oliver questions, opening up the door to his office to let everyone in. “What is on your mind?”
“I don’t want those two here” Barnaby sneers, glaring at Todd and myself. “Chosen wolf or not; I won’t tell you what I know unless they leave.”
“I’m happy to go. But before I do; I want to apologise to you for what I have done” I tell him, turning on my heels to walk out the door.
“Wait, Grandpappy” Matthew says as Barnaby raises his eyebrow at him. “You heard right. He is my great grandfather and this” he pauses as Jason comes into the office. “Is yours.”
“I thought we were keeping this under wraps” I snarl at Matthew.
“We all know. Barnaby has a right to know what he has done to his family, as well as his pack” Matthew explains, turning towards Barnaby again. “What is it you know?”
“I…Um…” Barnaby stammers, shaking his head as his wolf comes forward.
“I’m William, Barnaby’s wolf. Let me say first; the reason Barnaby was siding with Michael was because Becky and he felt like they had no other choice. They were threatened by them” William tells us.
“We do know this” Jason states firmly.
“When Josiah was placed into the cell, he couldn’t shut up about what Michael has planned. He still wants the white wolf for himself. He thinks by taking her and marking her; all her powers will be transferred to him. Like they are with Danny” William continues as I let out a snarl.
“It doesn’t work that way, but please continue. How is he suppose to do this in a cell?” Dad asks him, not wanting to give away too much information.
“Callum is dead and his followers are scattered. It will be very difficult for his followers to come near our territories, let alone stage and abduction for Michael” Oliver continues Dad’s thoughts.
“Apparently Michael hasn’t told Josiah, how he was going to achieve this. He was to find out if your daughter did in fact, have the white wolf. Which he did” William concludes, turning to look at Dad as Kingsley and Jesse both let out a growl.
**“We need to kill Michael before he can harm Honey Cakes”** Jesse shouts in my head.
**“And how are we supposed to do that?”** I yell back at him. **“We need to work out what we are going to do with the four of them first. Then you can have him.”**
“Can I please talk to Barnaby now” Jason injects as William lets Barnaby come forward again. “I understand why you did what you did and if it was me, I would probably have done the same. But your actions have caused pain and suffering to everyone in this room and in your pack.”
“I…Um…I’m sorry for what I did” Barnaby whispers, looking down at his feet.
“Sorry does not change what you have don…” “If I may, Jase” I interrupt him as he gently nods at me. “Barnaby, why now do you want to help us?”
“I don’t want to help you. I want to help Matthew” he snarls back at me.
**“Same thing if you ask me”** Jesse fumes in my head.
“Why now do you want to help Matthew?” I ask him.
“Because he is my alpha” he admits, turning his head to look at his feet again.
“And how ca…” “BECAUSE I WANT TO KEEP MY PACK SAFE” Barnaby yells, interrupting Claudia as we all jump slightly. “I never gave information regarding what our pack was doing to help you. I only told them where they can find you” he adds lowering his voice.
“You could have told me Michael was blackmailing you. I would have helped to protect you and your family” Matthew tells Barnaby as he looks down at his feet again.
“When will you be sentencing me to death as a traitor?” Barnaby asks, looking up to face Matthew.
Matthew sits up with a smile. “We won’t be. We realise you were doing everything in your power to protect your family. I have a proposition for you and Rebecca.”
“What proposition?” Barnaby asks startled.
Zephron comes forward and smirks at Barnaby. “We are willing to have you both come live at the Sapphire Moon Pack again. One wrong move on your part, I will personally rip you to shreds” he says before going back and letting Matthew come forward.
“No” Barnaby answers, shocking everyone. “No?” Todd, Dad and myself question at the same time.
“No, I will not go back to live at Sapphire Moon Pack. Yet” he answers, giving us a smile. “I will find out any information you are seeking first. Help you to destroy Michael, Penelope and anyone else who is still willing to fight for Callum’s cause. And if I am still alive; I will re-join the Sapphire Moon Pack.”
“Why?” Oliver questions him.
“Because I need to prove myself to my Alpha, my ancestor and my goddess. I need to show all of you, I am honourable” Barnaby explains, looking over at Jason.
“We will send you back to the cell and discuss what we can do to have you help” Oliver states, looking over at Jeffery who takes Barnaby out of the office.
