Chapter 87

Danny’s POV
“Snow Blossom” I scream; running up the stairs three at a time. “Joanna” I hear Todd running up behind me.
They both come out of our room; “I’m fine; thanks to Claudia’s sharp eyesight and level head” Joanna informs us. “I’m a little shaken; it was a close call” Claudia adds, giving me a kiss.
“How the fuck did they know we were moving the pack?” Todd yells; at nobody in particular. “We aren’t sure. I’m still trying to figure it out” Oliver says, coming up the stairs with Dad. “Sweetheart” Dad sighs, wrapping his arms around Claudia.
“You’re smothering me” Claudia muffles her complaint in dad’s chest as he releases his grip on her. “What happened?” Dad asks, looking between the two ladies. “In here” Joanna says, looking around her and we head into our room.
“We all stopped off to get something to eat at a little roadside diner on the highway. I was feeling queasy and we decided to keep going and let everyone catch up to us. I asked to drive; thought it would take my mind off the morning sickness. It didn’t work; so, I pulled into the next gas station. I heard someone come in and could smell they were a cat shifter; my head was over the basin and I didn’t see who it was. She dragged me away from the basin by my hair. That’s when Claudia walked in” Joanna starts explaining.
“I messaged I saw someone, who kept looking at something in his hand and back at me. I knew I had to get Joanna; that’s when I saw Penelope with Joanna. She said we needed to go with her and I threw her ass across the bathroom; grabbed the keys off the basin and we took off. We noticed the car behind us, Michael must have been in the car waiting” Claudia continues, letting out a breath, when she finished talking.
“That’s when she called me” Oliver said, “And I told Joanna to call you or Dad; the rest you know” Claudia concludes.
“We shouldn’t have let the pair of you go with the rest of the pack” Todd snarls, at no-one in particular again. “We thought being in a large group, they would have been fine” Dad says to Todd, calmly.
“We only left everyone 10 minutes prior” Claudia informs them. “They must have been following the convoy. It’s the only explanation, I have” Joanna inputs.
“What kind of car was it?” I ask them. “Black Jeep; I know, doesn’t narrow it down. It had darker tinted windows. I couldn’t see Michael until he was up close; trying to ram our car” Claudia explains.
“I’ll ask around the pack; see if they noticed anything suspicious. In the meantime; neither of you are to leave the castle territory” Todd announces and Claudia gives him an evil eye. “I’m only making a suggestion. No need to kill me with your eyes, Claudia” he adds.
“I wasn’t going anywhere, anyway” she snaps at him and heads for the door. “Where am I going? This is my room. You get out” she tells Todd. “We need to get back to our room, anyway” Joanna says, giving Claudia a wink and both her and Todd exit the doorway.
“What was the wink for?” I ask her. “Anastasia; she tried to surprise Todd in their room. That’s why Joanna was here, she could hear her in there and locked the door from the outside; she couldn’t get out. 3, 2,” “WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING IN HERE? GET OUT OF MY ROOM AND TAKE YOUR CLOTHES WITH YOU” Todd screams. **“I think the Sapphire Moon Pack heard him”** Jesse chuckles.
*“Danny; Cyndy’s gone into labour. I told her not to help move stuff into the River Moon’s new packhouse”* Brett comes through a mind link. **“Fuck me! This is all we need right now**" I sigh to Jesse and turn my attention to the room. "We need to get to the medical wing. Oliver, we may need Matthew’s help, I don’t think we have the facilities for premmie babies” I tell Claudia, Dad and Oliver.
“What’s happened, son?” Dad asks me, looking at my concerned face. “Cyndy’s gone into labour” I answer him and he gives me the same sigh as I had with Jesse. It is what it is; we need to be there for Cyndy and Brett.
“Shit” Claudia screams, running out the doorway. “I’ll call Matthew and have them get their hospital ready for incoming twins” Oliver informs me as Dad and I follow Claudia out the door.
*“I have Oliver calling the Sapphire Moon pack to notify them of Cyndy and the twins”* I mind link Doctor Elliot. *“I already called Doctor MacIntosh. He has bought two humidity cribs over; we are just waiting for the twin’s arrival”* he links back.
*“How dangerous is it for them to be born now?*” I ask him. *“She is equivalent to 30 weeks gestation for a human pregnancy; they will be fine. Might only need the humidity crib for a week or so”* Doctor Elliot answers and I let out a sigh a relief.
“Doctor Elliot says, the babies will be fine. May only need the humidity cribs for a week or so” I tell Dad and Claudia. “That’s one less stress. If they are anything like Cynthia; they will be strong” Claudia says, giving me a smile.
“How is she?” Jason says, coming into the medical wing. “We haven’t heard anything. We know they are getting help from Matthew and Doctor MacIntosh from the Sapphire Moon Pack” Dad informs him as Tim and Rick come in through the doors and sits down on the waiting room chairs.
“Haven’t heard yet” I tell them, before they ask. “Dad said to tell you, he is showing Jeremy around the training grounds and will be over when he is done” Tim explains, picking up an old magazine.
“Did I hear Todd screaming at someone before?” Rick asks me and Claudia starts laughing beside me. “What?” he asks, looking at Claudia.
“Anastasia” “Enough said” Rick cuts her off; putting his hand up to show, he doesn’t need to know anymore. “That woman is a menace; I don’t know how you put up with her for so long?” Claudia says, looking at me.
“What? I didn’t put up with her at all. She hurt me more than Todd did. I thought by being civil, she would leave me the fuck alone; turns out I was wrong. I don’t want anything to do with her” I tell her and Claudia smiles at me.
“The stupid slut thought she could break into my room and lay on my bed naked. She didn’t like the fact Joanna locked her in our room” Todd fumes, coming up behind us. “I was teaching her a lesson not to mess with the Queen Bitch around here” Joanna says laughing.
“Did someone call me?” Mum says, coming over to us and Joanna and Claudia roll their eyes at her. “I heard Queen Bitch. I came to see what my subjects wanted and Joanna; you and Claudia are only mere princesses” Mum giggles, taking a seat next to Tim. “You are not a bitch” I tell mum.
“Then I am not doing my job properly. I am very much a bitch and I will show you if you cross me” she replies and Claudia rolls her eyes at Mum again.
“They’re here. Doctor MacIntosh and Doctor Elliot have whisked, Casey and Wilber to the Sapphire Moon hospital in the Ambulance, near the back entrance. You can go and visit them in a day or so. Cyndy wants to see you all” Brett says, coming into the waiting room.
We all pile ourselves into a small crowd, pushing our way through the little doorway to go see Cynthia. “Cyndy” Claudia exclaims, rushing over to her. “Are you ok? Michael didn’t hurt you, did he?” Cyndy asks her.
“Geez; you just gave birth to twins and you are more concerned about me. Joanna and I are fine; they didn’t get us and Joanna only lost a few hairs off her head when I threw Penelope away from her. Penelope on the other hand will be supporting a headache; from the sound her head made when it hit the tiles” Claudia tells her.
“How are you feeling, Cyndy?” I ask her, giving her a hug. “Tired; you try pushing two watermelons out of your vagina?” “Bit impossible; I don’t have one” I laugh at her.
“I’m happy they are out; means I can start getting more involved and train with you all again” she exclaims. “Not yet. You need to rest” Paul says from the corner of the room. “Dad, I’m fine. I need to train and help. We’ve been over this” she huffs at him.
“You rest up, and we will talk about your training in a few days” I smile at her, giving her a wink. Cyndy smiles back and Claudia gives her another hug; “We need to get going. We have some pack business to discuss with Joanna and Todd” she tells her.
Joanna gives Cynthia a hug and the four of us head out the door.
