Danny’s POV
“I’m having a packhouse built for all of your pack. The builders came in first thing this morning. You will have access to all the grounds and training facility. After what happened 136 years ago; I figured you wouldn’t want to leave anyone behind” Oliver tells me over the phone. “Amanda told Dad and I about your discussion with Bastet and Artio” “Yes; they were two very unwilling alliances. Apollo spoke to me after Amanda and Sariah left with Hecate and Selene. He is going to convince the two of them to let us know if there is any cat and bear shifters we can contact for help. I wouldn’t hold my breath though” he informs me.
"You have no breath to hold" I chuck at him. "Ha, ha" he says, laughing back at me.
“Did Hecate really throw lightning bolts from her hands at them?” “Yes, and fireballs; not to mention she threw them a few times like you can. I wouldn’t want to piss that goddess off” he chuckles. “Mandy said the same thing.”
“Oliver; I won’t talk to you over the phone about this. I have a few questions regarding Callum, I need to ask you” “I have some about Michael” he answers me. “The packhouse should be ready in a few days. That’s the good thing about being vampires; we can work around the clock and get things done quicker than humans” he says.
“I will be in touch. We have some loose ends to tie up here. I will let you know when we are leaving” I tell him. “Sounds like a plan; I look forward to hearing from you” he answers. “Bye” I say to him, hanging up the phone.
**“I wonder if he has the same thought as we do about Callum; except he is thinking it’s Michael”** I tell Jesse. **“I wouldn’t be surprised. As neither of us know what either are capable of; we both have the right to think they are both deceiving each other”** he responds. **“Let’s talk to the rest of them. Let them know what Oliver said.” “Yep; they will be here shortly.”**
“My little angel” I announce as Claudia hands me Sophia, coming into the office. “She’s been very grumpy this morning. I wish she would cut her teeth and be done with it” Claudia says, as Sophia grumbles, biting down on her pacifier. “I have some teething gel here somewhere” I say, searching through my top draw. “I’ve already put some on her gums. She bit my fingers with the one tooth she does have, while I did it.”
“Did you talk to Oliver?” she asks. “Yes, he has a packhouse being built as we speak. He said after what happened 136 years ago; he figured we wouldn’t be leaving anyone behind.” “And Callum?” she questions further. “I didn’t ask. I told him I had questions for him and he said he had some about Michael. I got the impression we are both thinking the same thoughts about each of them” I tell her as a knock comes on the door.
“You may enter” I call out. “I assume Mandy is back” Jason says as he and Tracey come in. “Yes; we will wait for the others. Dad and I have already spoken with her” I tell him as Dad comes in with Mum, Simon, Lorraine, Chelsea and Tim, who is holding Jacob. “He won’t let me go” Tim explains. “He missed you” Chelsea coos at Jacob.
“We will wait for Rick and Cynthia and then we can start” I inform everyone as Brett, Cynthia, Rick and Denise come into the office. “Now we can start” I chuckle.
“Amanda came back at some ungodly hour last night. She had me wake Dad and Danny up to talk to them. What we found out; Callum was the threat last time and he was waiting for someone to come along to help him overpower Oliver. That is where Michael comes in. He is the great, grandson of Marcus” Claudia begins.
“Goddess’ Bastet and Artio figured since we defeated them before, we can do it again. We do not have help from the cat or bear shifters and it was decided it was too late to have Joe and Luke reincarnated. I just spoke with Oliver; Apollo is going to question the goddess’ more to see if there is anyone we can ask for help” I include, looking over at dad. He looks tired; he mustn’t have gone back to sleep last night.
“Oliver wants us all to move to the castle. I am hesitant by this decision as this territory has been our home for many of the families here for generations” Dad includes to the conversation. “Oliver said he has a packhouse being built as we speak. It will be a temporary move until we deal with Callum and Michael…” “And Craig, we can’t underestimate him either” Chelsea points out; I look at my cousin, she knows something.
“Chels?” I question. “Craig got hold of mum yesterday. She called me immediately; he was happy to hear I was told the truth of who he was and wants to get together to talk. Mum told him; and I quote ‘Fuck off. You didn’t want anything to do with her growing up and you are not going to have anything to do with her now.’”
“I think, Michael and Callum are going down the ‘my long-lost daughter; it was your mother who kept me away’ route” Tim laughs. “Either way; I don’t want anything to do with him and mum told him that” Chelsea includes.
“Tim, Rick; you need to access your memories. We will be moving the pack in a few days and Dad wants this territory safeguarded. He doesn’t want rouges, Todd, Michael and Callum to think they will be able to come onto the territory when we are not here. Cynthia; You and Brett will need to put a plan into place to have everyone move out. Order what you need to make it happen. Jason, you will be with Dad, Simon, Rick, Tim and myself laying these safegaurds” I inform everyone.
“What do you want me to tell the pack?” Cynthia asks. “We are helping King Oliver with a threat he has and need to move there temporarily” Simon says to her.
“What about us?” Mum asks. I look at Claudia and smirk. “I thought you, Lorraine, Tracey, Chelsea, Denise and Claudia can go early to help Oliver with the decorating of the new packhouse he is building” I answer as Dad and Jason softly chuckle to themselves and Claudia growls at me. “Oh, that is a great idea; I have some really good design ideas, I can talk to Oliver about” Mum smiles.
“Asshole” Claudia mind links me. “She is, who she is. Just let her be and she will be back to normal in no time” I snicker back at her.
“We have our plans; let’s get going?” Dad says as everyone starts heading out of the office. “Brett; we need to order as many moving vans as possible. I will leave the notifications to the pack in your hands” Cynthia tells Brett as she goes out the door. “Thank you, for understanding why this territory means so much to me and some of the other pack members” Dad says to me. “I understand; I have made this pack my home. I don’t want to leave here either” I answer him.
Claudia and I head up to our room to start packing everything. “What are we taking?” she asks me. “Everything that isn’t nailed down” I tell her, looking around the room. “We’ll pack yours and Sophia’s clothes into a suitcase. Now we have our own car; you and Mum can take our car and I will go with Dad in theirs in a few days, once we have safeguarded the territory” I explain to her.
“I want to stay here with you and the others. I can help” she fumes at me. “Yes; but Sophia needs to go. I want you to be with her” I say, putting my arms around her. “Mandy is going to bring you to the sanctuary every night until you come to the castle” she tells me. “If that is what we need to do; then we will do it” I smirk at her.
“Danny; why are we leaving the pack territory?” Joslyn mind links me. “Because we need to help King Oliver with a threat. It’s temporary and I don’t want to leave the pack vulnerable. Personally; I think it’s a way he can have you cooking for him” I chuckle back. “I love my job. He has Buckley’s to no chance of having me move when it’s time for us to come back” she answers, closing the mind link.
“Who mind linked you?” “Joslyn, I think we all will be getting a few mind links in the next few hours” I tell Claudia; who’s eyes glaze over. “I agree; Bella just linked me” she giggles.
“Let’s get packing. I want you and Mum to get away as soon as possible” I tell her. “To get everything ready before everyone arrives” I add, looking at Claudia’s angry stare.
