Chapter 60

Danny’s POV
“Thank you for attending to our guests, Sariah. Do they know what is happening?” Oliver asks as Claudia and I come into his office. “Yes; they both agreed to help us and I showed them, Joseph and Lucas’ books. They were shown what has happened previously” she explains as we sit down.
“Claudia, did you tell Danny what Craig revealed?” “No; she thought it would be better to surprise me” I snarl, sarcastically. “Yes; he is not happy, as you can see” Claudia answers, giving Oliver a smile. “Where’s Sophia now?” Sariah asks. “Dad has her. He is not letting her out of his sight, when she is not with me or Danny” Claudia answers.
“I was thinking we could message Michael from Craig’s phone” Sariah starts “That was my first thought also, Riah. They would know by now Craig and Todd have been captured. I wouldn’t be surprised they were hoping they would be captured” Oliver says cutting Sariah off.
“I want to call a meeting. Is there somewhere we can have everyone to discuss our next steps?” I ask Oliver. “We can use the council room. Who do you want at this meeting?” he answers. “You, Jeffrey and I would like to ask Queen Amelia to join us. Her, Rodney and Hunter are very much in danger as the rest of us. Alpha Matthew, Barnaby and David; Sariah and Leon. Does Cody want to join us? He is almost 17 and will be taking over from you” I ask Sariah. “I’m not going anywhere if I can help it but yes, it would be a good idea to have Cody with us” she answers.
“Phyliss, Raquel and their mates; plus, all of us” I finish my list of people I want at the meeting.
“Have you discussed a plan with Henry what we should do next?” Oliver asks, looking at Claudia and I. “No; we don’t know where we should go from here. What about you and Jeffrey?” Claudia asks Oliver. “We are the same; we don’t know where to go from here” he responds, letting out a sigh.
“Riah, have you and Leon talked about it?” I ask her. “We discussed the possibility of messaging Michael from Craig’s phone. Nothing further” she answers, looking around the room.
“Sorry to bother you sir; Todd is requesting an audience with you” Jeffrey says coming into the office with Todd and I let off a growl. “You wanted to see me, Todd?” Oliver asks, ignoring my efforts to tell him no. “I was wondering if I could help you? I can go back to my pack and be your eyes and ears on the inside” he says, refusing to look at me. “You just want to get your ass out of the cell. You have no intention of helping” I spit, as Claudia places her hand on my arm.
“I have a pack to run too, Error” “FOR THE LAST FUCKING TIME; MY NAME IS DANIEL” I scream at him as he backs away slightly. “Sorry, Danny; Old habits die. You know?” he nervously chuckles. “I’ll show you how old habits die” Jesse yells pushing me to the back of my mind as he gets out of the chair and Todd takes a few more steps backwards.
“Todd; I will have to discuss this decision with my associates here. I will give you an answer when we have made it” Oliver says calmly as Jeffrey walks out of the office with Todd. “I know the way” Todd screams at the two guards, who were waiting for him.
“Jesse; can we please have Danny back” Oliver asks him; **“he should have let me rip him apart**” Jesse says slinking back into my mind. “Todd always says things to get what he wants. He has no intention of helping” Claudia elaborates to Oliver. “I can’t hold him. He didn’t have anything to do with what happened on the castle grounds. As for him taking you, Jason and Henry; you have the right to hold him and he can be a guest in our dungeon as long as you are living on the castle grounds. It will be your decision to release him or keep him” Oliver says, letting out a breath.
“This isn’t a decision for me alone. I will need to consult Dad and Jason. They too were at the receiving end of Todd’s antics” I tell him, taking a few deep breaths to calm myself down. “I understand; you can let us know when you have made your decision” he responds.
“When would you like to hold the meeting? I can make the necessary arrangements while you have your discussion with Henry and Jason” Oliver asks, looking at me. “Tomorrow morning?” Claudia asks, looking at me and I nod my agreeance. “Sounds good to me” he responds as Claudia and I get up to leave. “Danny; I know you dislike Todd” “Dislike is too nicer word, for what I feel towards Todd” I cut Sariah off. She gives a nervous giggle; “when talking with Alpha Henry. Consider all options before making a final decision” she finishes what she was going to tell me.
I nod my head at her and Claudia and I leave the office. “What did Riah mean by consider all options?” Claudia asks me. “She wants us to consider taking Todd up on his request” I snarl, as Jesse let’s off a growl in my mind. “We can’t, he will betray us” Claudia huffs. “Not if I can help it, honey cakes” Jesse says pushing me back in my mind again.
“What are you doing out here?” Claudia asks Jesse. “I pushed him back. I want to discuss with Pappa Wolf and Parker what to do. Give Danny a break to calm down” he answers, picking up Claudia’s hand. I come to the front of my mind so she can see I am still with her and watch as she breathes a sigh of relief.
*“He didn’t give me a chance”* I tell her through mind link. *“He is doing what is best for you. Let him do it”* she responds as we get to Dad’s room and knock on the door.
“Come in” he calls out. “Pappa wolf” Jesse calls out, entering the room. “Jesse? What’s going on?” Dad gasps, looking between Claudia and Jesse. “Todd has a proposition for Oliver and it is our decision because we are the ones with the right to detain him” Claudia begins. “And what is this proposition and why is Jesse here and not Danny?” “I am giving him time to calm down. Todd wants to be our eyes and ears on the inside; essentially, he wants to use this as a way to get out of his cell” Jesse responds.
*“Dad; I am still here. Jesse is doing what he thinks is best for me. I am very angry right now”* I mind link him. “And how exactly does he proposed to be our eyes and ears?” Dad asks, looking at me through Jesse’s eyes. “I asked Jason to come here. Let’s wait for him to get here” Claudia answers him as Jason knocks on the door.
“Come in, Jason” Dad calls out. “You wanted to see…Jesse?” Jason says, stopping as he sees Jesse’s gold eyes. “Danny is still here; we all have a decision to make. Todd wants to be released and said he can be our eyes and ears on the inside for us. Danny doesn’t trust him, neither do I for that fact. It comes down to being our decision as we are the ones who have a right to detain him, not Oliver” Jesse informs everyone.
“How do we bull shit, a bull shit artist?” Jason exclaims. “I beg your pardon?” Dad asks him. “Todd, is a scammer to get what he wants. A better way for me to ask; how do we out con, a con artist?” “By having a con artist, con him. We need Tim and Rick” Dad says; his eyes glazing over.
**“I’m calm now, Jesse”** I tell him; **“One sign of you getting pissed off; you will be back in there”** he responds letting me come forward. “You called, all mighty alpha’s” Rick says, entering the room. “Rick, you and Tim are our resident bull shit artist; Todd is asking to be released on the grounds he can help us by being our eyes and ears on the inside. We need our bull shit artists to outsmart that bull shit artist. Did I get that right?” Dad says smirking. “Yes” Jason and Claudia laugh.
“What’s happening?” Tim asks coming into the room as we all start laughing. “They want us to outsmart, Todd” Rick explains. “That’s easy. Todd is dumb as dog shit” Tim voices. “Leave it with us; we will get back to you with a plan tomorrow” Rick says, starting to head out the door. “It needs to be by 9am; that’s when the meeting is” I tell them.
“What meeting?” Tim asks, stopping to look back at me. “The meeting you are going to tell everyone how you con, the con artist by letting him be our eyes and ears on the inside; so, he doesn’t betray us” I inform him. “Is that all you want from him. That’s easy; make sure you always have something he wants or needs. The moment you don’t have anything for him; he changes his allegiance like he changes his underwear. And don’t yell at me, Danny…” “No; out of the question” I scream as Tim looks at Claudia. “I said don’t yell at me” Tim injects. “I didn’t yell, I screamed at you and we are not going to use Claudia” I scream again.
“Claudia can speak for herself; and you are not using me” she fumes at Tim. “He wants you, but can’t have you. Why can’t you pretend he can get what he wants but never actually getting what he wants” “This is confusing” Dad sighs, sitting himself down on the sofa and looking between the Tim and I.
“I want some popcorn; this is getting interesting” Jason exclaims. “I would rather have Jesse scare the shit out of him” I snarl at Tim. “We are at a stalemate. Tim and Rick; come up with a plan; with the help of Simon and let us know tomorrow morning. Danny, wait until we hear what Simon has to add with these two” Dad injects as I nod my head at him.
“We will take this little one and head to our room” Claudia says, picking Sophia up. “Not using Claudia” I huff at Tim again before heading out the door behind Claudia.
