Chapter 27

James’ POV
“James, I haven’t seen you around for a while; do you want your usual” Bambi calls out to me from behind the bar. I don’t know her real name; nor do I care. She has big tits and a nice ass; I can grab once in a while. “Thanks, Sexy” I say, winking at her and taking my drink to sit in the nearby booth.
“Craig; it’s about time you got here” I snarl at my brother, waving for him to come over. “Settle down Jim, I was just admiring the lovely ladies, we have here” he says giving one of the dancers a wink. “We’re not here to fraternise; we’re here to conduct business” I growl at him. “We can do both” he answers; not paying any attention to what I need to tell him.
“Lap dance, honey and then you can blow my boner” Craig winks to Cheeky. “Business is down by 15 per cent. I need to find out why that is” I tell him, motioning for Cheeky to go away. “Isn’t that Simon’s job?” he growls at me. “Simon has gone AWOL. Ever since Todd fucked up; he’s been acting very peculiar.”
“Todd’s fucked up again? That kid is such a menace; what’s he done, this time?” he groans, shaking his head. “He got himself locked up at the Cedar Pack, that’s where I think Simon’s gone. Lorraine said she wanted some time to spend with the family; I think her and Simon deserted us and headed over there” “Henry’s Pack; why would he go there?” “You know why” I tell him.
“The girl?” he asks me. “Yep; Stupid bitch doesn’t think anyone knows. They don’t realise Michael has been telling everyone. Todd found out about her and tried to get her for himself. Only problem was; she’s already mated” I inform him.
“Shit; that is a problem” “No it’s not” I smirk at him as he gives me a look of confusion. “I better fill you in on what’s happened and then you will see why it’s not a problem.”
“Todd concocted a plan to take the mate, Henry and the mate’s Betta on the hope, the little bitch would come running to save them. He only thinks with one thing; his cock and when she finally called him, he went racing to her and she locked him up. I had to release all three to get him back” I explain to him. “I’m surprised; it wasn’t a bad plan. His execution was poor, which I am not surprised about” Craig tells me.
“I thought so too; but they will be more vigilant from now on, to keep her safe. But you know me, brother; I always have an ace up my sleeve” I snicker. “What’s the plan?” he asks me. “I need to get my son back on side and play the remorseful father.” “You want Todd to be involved again? I love him, but he is a fuckwit; not someone we should be getting help from” he chuckles
“Not Todd; the other son” “Huh?” he questions. “Do I need to Sesame Street this for you? Error is the mate of the white wolf” I explain to him.
He stares at me, a grin starting to appear on his face. “If we can get Error to forgive you, then you will be able to take the girl” Craig tells me. Goddess; how am I related to this moron. “Yes” I smile at him.
“Now can I have my lap dance and blow job” he asks me. “For fuck’s sake; be quick about it. We need to get down to business.”
……….
Claudia’s POV
“I’m getting, fucking cankles” I scream at Doctor Elliot; at my fortnightly antenatal check-up. “It’s common for pregnant women in their third trimester to retain a small amount of fluid around their joints; primarily ankles” he calmly says, putting the cuff on, to check my blood pressure.
“Your blood pressure is fine; can you lay down on the examination bed and I will check baby’s vitals?” he asks me. Laying down on the table; I lift my shirt over my belly and Doctor Elliot places the heart beat monitor onto my stomach to listen to Sophia’s heartbeat. “162 beats per minute; very strong.” He pushes his hands around the top of my baby bump; to feel how Sophia is growing. “She’s growing at a normal pace.” he tells me.
He then feels at the bottom of my stomach; “Sophia’s head is down; she’s getting ready to come out” he smiles at me. “We still have 1 month, 2 weeks and 1 day” I gasp; my worry filling the air of the room. He gives a chuckle; “It’s nothing to worry about, her head is down, but still high. Babies will turn themselves around, at this stage of the pregnancy to prepare for the upcoming birth” he tells me.
“Are there any other questions?” He asks; offering a hand to help me off the bed. “No; I’ll see you in two weeks” I answer, sliding off the bed and waddling out the door. I smile at Tracey before heading over to the training compound. “Tracey; you may come in” Doctor Elliot calls out.
“How was your antenatal appointment?” Danny calls out, as I waddle over to the seats. “Good; Sophia is growing well and her heartbeat is strong. Doctor Elliot said, her head is down, because she is getting ready to be born. He said it’s still high enough and she can be that way until she is born” I inform him, to avoid any freak outs.
“How’s training going?” “Great; it’s good to be the teacher, instead of the student” he beams at me, sitting down next to me. “How are they going?” I ask, looking over at Simon, Rick and Tim. “Simon is a hard, task master. Rick and Tim have never trained this hard and they have been reminding him constantly of this fact” he laughs.
He gives me a kiss and heads back over to Simon. “Claudia, can you tell them we need a break. They won’t listen to us” Tim calls out. “I can’t interfere with the Master Trainer” I laugh back at him. Him and Rick look exhausted. It will teach them for skipping training at the River Moon Pack.
“Simon, how’s it going?” I ask as he comes over to me. He shakes his head, “I didn’t realise how little Tim and Rick actually knew. Jeremy is a good Master Trainer; Todd probably didn’t want to train and dragged the pair along with him” he answers disappointed.
“It’s a different ballgame here; you will get them to where they need to be” I smile at him. “That I will. Danny was telling them this morning, he had to be told to stop training because his body wasn’t fit enough. I think he was giving them a guilt trip to get them to train harder” he laughs.
“I wouldn’t be surprised; but yes. I yelled at him a number of times to slow down and he refused. He wanted to become stronger to protect me” I inform him, pursing my lips at the memories. “It’s worked in our favour, regardless” he chuckles.
“Tracey, how was your appointment?” I ask, as she waddles into the compound to sit next to me. “Good, my blood pressure is on the low side, but still in normal range. Doc Elliot is going to keep an eye on it and he said, if I start to feel light headed to go see him” “It’s nothing to worry about; Lorry had low blood pressure when she was pregnant with Tim” Simon explains, smiling.
“Doctor Elliot explained it to me. He said my normal blood pressure at 115 over 60 is lower than most. He wasn’t too surprised when it was 100 over 55. He said it’s better than having it high which can cause preeclampsia” she tells us.
“How are Tim and Rick doing?” she asks, looking at the two exhausted men. “Being taught a lesson on not to skip training” Simon smirks, getting up and heading back over to them. “They look spent; they might want to give them a break” she giggles.
“Training is over for today” Simon calls out as Rick and Tim fall on the ground, sighing with relief. “Hey Claudia” Jason says waving, “how was your appointment, sugar plum?” he adds, giving Tracey a kiss. “Good, no problems” she smiles back at him. “You ready to get some lunch?” Danny asks coming over to join us.
“Lunch, yes. I hope Joslyn has some more of her apple pies. When you said she was the maker of the best apple pies; we had to taste it, to believe it” Rick says, grinning. “How did you like training?” I giggle at him, taking Danny’s hand to get myself out of the seat. “I’ve never trained this hard in my life. I don’t know how you two do it” Rick answers, looking at Danny and Jason.
“It wasn’t always like that, we had to tell Danny to stop because his body was too weak to keep up with what his mind wanted to do” I smirk; giving Danny and Jason a wink. “I heard” Rick whispers, the guilt crossing his face, as Tim joins us. “Don’t be too hard on yourselves; you were following Todd and didn’t know any better. Pups can be very impressionable; especially by their peers” I smile at him as we all head out of the compound to the dining hall.
“Still doesn’t excuse what we did. Dad told both of us, when we were growing up not to follow Todd’s lead. We didn’t listen, even after the few ass whippings I got from Dad, ‘cause he found out what Todd, Rick and I did” Tim says, his eyes looking apologetic at Danny.
“What’s done is done; we can’t change the past. We can only move forward and you need to show me, how much you have changed” Danny says; looking uncomfortable with the discussion. “I wonder if Joslyn got some more corn chips in yet” I smile at Danny. “Hope not; I feel nauseous, every time I see you eat pickles, corn chips and whatever else is on offer” he chuckles back at me, relieved I changed the subject.
“I remember Chelsea having cravings for strawberry jam, she smothered it on everything from potatoes to ice-cream. I think Josie still has a few jars of it from when she was pregnant” Tim snickers.
“Claudia; I have some more corn chips for you” Joslyn calls out from the kitchen, as we all start laughing at Danny’s look of horror. “Don’t worry; I just want the pickles and corn chips today” I giggle. “That, I can handle” he smiles back at me and we head into the dining hall.
