Chapter 15

Danny’s POV
I look around me; I’m in Amanda’s sanctuary. “Claudia isn’t here.” “Amanda” I call out as the pure white wolf bounces over to me and licks my face. “What am I doing here? Is Claudia, ok?” I ask her. “Claudia is fine, you on the other hand; are not” she answers, putting her head on my lap.
I drop my head; “I’m worried Claudia is going to die from complications and if she does; I don’t want to be like James” I tell her. “What happened to Luna Rachael was unfortunate. We can get a scan to make sure Claudia won’t have complications. As for you being like James; the fact you are worried about it, shows me you won’t be anything like him.”
“Danny, Claudia wants you to talk to Doctor Drury about your fears. She will be able to help” Amanda informs me. “I thought about doing that. I just needed to get my head around what she told me. My thoughts overwhelmed me so much; I had to withdraw myself immediately. I didn’t want Claudia to think I was unhappy about the baby” I respond to her.
Amanda lifts her head and looks at me; “She thinks I am unhappy about the baby” I whisper. “No; Jesse told her to go talk to Pappa Wolf. He asked Jesse what happened. He told them; you always spoke about having kids; so, you can treat them like angels. Your thoughts were about Claudia” she informs me.
I smile at Amanda; “We are going to have a baby girl” I exclaim; “that we are” she smiles back.
“You need to go back and talk to Claudia. You also need to come up with a plan to tell Todd to fuck off” She informs me. “Todd?” I question. “He’s still calling Pappa Wolf to meet up with Claudia. Jesse answered the phone and told him he was a fuckwit” she giggles. I raise an eyebrow at her; I need to ask Jesse what happened.
“Can you send me back now?” I ask Amanda, “I will. I need to know you are going to talk to Claudia and Doctor Drury” she replies. “I will; and train. I want Dad and Jason to teach me how to kill my brother. It’s the only way to stop him” I tell her. She narrows her eyes at me, nodding her head, as the flash of light snaps me back into my mind.
**“Jesse; let me come out”** I call out to him. **“Really? Why do you always have to interrupt me”** he huffs. I look out and see Claudia getting ready for bed. **“I need to talk to her”** I shout at him. **“OK, I’m leaving”** he snaps back and surrenders control; allowing my conscious to come forward.
“Claudia” I whisper; giving her a kiss on the cheek. “Danny” she screams, wrapping her arms around me; tears falling down her face. “Don’t cry” I tell her, wiping the tears away from her cheeks. “I understand you’re scared. I got a scan and Doctor Elliot said the baby and I are fine” she sobs. I smile at her and kiss her cheek again.
“I need to talk to Dad and Jason. I think Todd knows Amanda is a white wolf and he won’t stop until he is dead. I have to be the one to kill him” I tell her. “How do you know this?” she asks me.
“I’ve watched him since he was 15. Girls come and go and he has never chased a woman; they come to him. He promises them anything, to get what he wants; but he eventually loses interest and tells them to move on. He stays away from mated women; he doesn’t want to fight their mate because they will fight to kill. You are both mated and someone who doesn’t want anything to do with him. He shouldn’t be chasing you; ever. There is only one reason he will continue; you have someone he wants.”
“We need to go see Dad immediately” she says to me; grabbing my hand. “What did Jesse say to Todd?” I asked as we head to dad’s office. She starts to giggle; “he answered the phone and said there was no Claudia here. Told him his name was Jesse and then said don’t know who Alpha Henry was. Just before he hung the phone up; he called him a fuckwit and told him, he needs to learn to take no for an answer. He had us in stitches” she laughs.
“Dad are you still in here?” Claudia calls out; knocking on his office door. He opens his door “I was about to head to bed” he tells us. “We can come back in the morning” I say to him. “No; walk with me, Danny” he responds.
“I need you to teach me how to kill” I blurt out and he stops walking; narrowing his eyes at me. “Son; killing should be the last resort. Why do you want to learn how to kill?” “To kill Todd” I answer him. “I see; is there a reason why you want to kill Todd?” he questions. I look around me and then at Claudia; “Can we talk in your room?”
We continue walking and reach Alpha Henry and Luna Jade’s room. “Hi Mum” Claudia calls out, walking into the room. “Claudia, Danny; what brings you in here?” Mum asks; her smile leaving her face, when she sees Dad shutting the door. “Explain to me why you want to learn how to kill Todd” Dad says; pursing her lips.
I look at Claudia; she squeezes my hand for encouragement. “As you know; I withdrew into my mind after Claudia told me about our daughter.” “Your pregnant?” Mum squeals; coming over to Claudia and I; embracing us. “I saw this really cute bassinette, I wan…” “Love Petal; not now” Dad chuckles at her.
“You were saying?” he adds. “I was scared, because of what happened to Mum and all my emotions got the better of me. But while I was in thinking what I needed to do; talk to Isabella; Claudia and you. I also started thinking on why Todd would be asking to get to know Claudia; almost five months after he saw her. He knows she is a white wolf; I don’t know how he knows, but he does” I inform him.
“What brings you to this conclusion?” He questions me. “Todd had two rules. Never chase a woman and never sleep with a mated woman. Women threw themselves at him and he would promise them things he never followed through with; to get them in bed” I explain to him. “And mated women?” Mum asks.
“He said mated women; if their mate finds out, they will fight to the death and they weren’t worth the bother. Claudia never showed interest so there was no need for him to call for her. The fact she is mated and has been told this information. And he is still calling for her; means one thing. Claudia has someone he wants; Amanda.”
“He must have seen Claudia shift; the day of your first shift” Mum says. “I beg your pardon?” Claudia asks. “We spoke with Joanna; she claimed she hadn’t seen him in the last month. I knew she was lying and I questioned her further and she informed me he had snuck his way onto the territory to see her. She told him to leave and she thought he had. He must have seen you shift as he was leaving” Dad tells us.
“I need to learn how to kill him. If he knows about Amanda; he won’t stop until he gets her. The only way he will stop is if he is dead” I inform them. “Killing someone should only happen if you don’t have any other option” Dad sighs.
“Then what do you suggest?” I ask him. “I don’t have a suggestion at the moment. Let us both sleep on it and we will continue this conversation in the morning” he answers me.
“That’s our cue to leave” Claudia says, taking my hand and ushering me to the door. “I don’t know what else to do; but I will think about it” I tell them and leave the room.
What can we do? Todd is the Alpha of the River Pack now. ‘You can’t stand between an Alpha and him protecting his mate.’ That’s what Dad told Doctor Elliot when I first wanted to train. “We will come up with something” Claudia says, taking me out of my thoughts, as we reach our room.
“I don’t know if there is another way. Dad said you can’t stand between an Alpha and his mate. It will be the same with Todd. He wants something; you. He will fight to have you” I explain; walking into the room. “There has to be a way; we need to think smart about this” she frowns; her blue eyes looking at me.
“I will still like Dad and Jason to train me; how to kill. Just in case” I inform her. “I don’t want you fighting anyone at all” she huffs at me. “Snow Blossom; I always knew I would have to fight others to keep you safe. We now have a daughter I need to protect as well” I smile at her; pecking her on the lips.
“Can I ask you a question?” “You just did” I chuckle. “No; I’m serious. Was your Grandma Nelly’s name Nelly? Or was it a nickname for another name?” “Nice way to change the subject. It was short for Janelle. Why do you ask?” I laugh. “No reason; I was just curious”
I narrow my eyes at her; “you are not telling me the whole truth” I smirk at her. “Damn, Alpha’s. You can’t get away with anything” she giggles. “I can’t get away with it either; my mate is an Alpha too” I chuckle back at her. “Why do you want to know what Grandma Nelly’s name is?” I ask her. “Because we are having a daughter and I was going to throw, Janelle in the mix, for names” she says sarcastically.
Wow; I’m not even thinking of names yet. “Snow Blossom” I whisper, giving her a kiss. “I take it; you would like to consider Janelle” she giggles. “Very much so” I answer her.
“We should get some sleep; Look at the Todd situation in the morning” she says to me. “Yes” I tell her, putting on a pair of boxer shorts and hopping into bed. Claudia wraps her arms around me, and drifts off to sleep. I lay there looking at the ceiling; trying to figure out, what we can do about Todd.
