Chapter 92

Henry’s POV
“If you tell Claudia or Jade about this, I am going to disown you and take back the Alpha role. Get me down from here” I yell to Danny from the tree top as I got caught in one of the nets. “Wait a minute” Danny says to me, taking his phone out of his pocket and snapping a photo or two.
“You are going to delete that photo” I snarl at him. “Nope; Alpha’s privilege” he answers me. “I’ll show you, Alpha’s privilege when I get out of here” I huff at him.
“I’ve got the knife” Simon calls, trying not to laugh at my predicament and cutting on the ropes, holding the net up. “Danny, hold onto the ropes and gently pull him down” Simon adds.
“Don’t drop me” I call out. “Why would I do that?” Danny asks, feigning his hurt; I would suggest such a thing. “Because you will, if I didn’t say something…” I snap at him. “I am not going to drop you. Or am I?” he says, cutting me off, lowering me down a bit faster, before catching the rope again.
“The east pack territory is all clear” Todd says coming over. “Alpha Henry; how did you get up in the tree” he adds, trying not to laugh. “Don’t you dare” I snap at him. “I wouldn’t” he says, taking his phone out as Danny drops the last of the net to the ground.
“I missed a great photo opportunity” Todd sighs, putting his phone away. “Don’t worry; I got plenty” Danny smirks as I punch him lightly on the shoulder. “Oww” he mocks at me.
“Come; let’s have a look around the packhouse. Make sure no-one has gone in there, before we head over to Nelly’s house. We will reset the net on our way back” Simon says, heading toward the packhouse.
“How did you get yourself caught in one of your own traps?” Todd asks chuckling. “I forgot about that one” I snarl at him and he moves to the other side of Danny. “Don’t touch the door” Simon tells us, as we get to the packhouse.
“I remember” I chuckle, as he climbs through the dining room window, we left ajar and heads to the door to disable to bombardment of water sprays we had attached to the doorway. “Water guns like we put in my packhouse?” Todd asks, trying to hold in his laughter.
“We had 65 of them; all pointed at the door on a hair trigger” Danny explains to him. “Fucking hell” Simon yells on the other side of the entrance door. “Another photo opportunity” Danny smirks, pulling out his phone as Simon opens up the door; wringing wet and Danny snaps another few photos.
“Now I see the funny side of it” I chuckle and Simon glares at me for a moment, before he starts laughing and shakes his wet hair over us.
“At least we know the safeguards have been working” Danny says, walking up the stairs of the packhouse. “Shit; that fucking hurt!” he screams, coming down the stairs again; paint spatter across his chest. I quickly pull my phone out and snap a photo. “Leverage” I smirk at him.
“Danny, did you forget about the paintball guns, connected to the door of the offices?” Simon asks, letting out a small chuckle as he comes back in from the car with a towel, drying his hair.
“Everything looks good here. Let’s get going to Nelly’s house. How do we get around the wolfsbane?” I ask, looking at Simon. “I left a trail to get to the house, providing the wolfsbane plants have taken over; make sure you wear the rubber boots I put in the trunk; just in case” he answers, giving me a smile.
“Galoshes? That’s how you stop the wolfsbane plants?” Todd asks astonished, as Danny resets the water guns and we shut the door and wait for him to climb out the window. “How often do you wear shoes?” Simon answers him, with his own question. “I don’t and when I do, it’s normally flip flops” he answers.
“Exactly; we are all the same. Shoes annoy us. The plants won’t burn us if we don’t touch them and the boots will stop it going through to our skin” Simon responds, trying not to sound annoyed he has to explain himself.
“And the galoshes are easy enough to get on and off without touching them” I add; giving Simon a break from Todd’s constant questioning. “He is still learning” I mind link Simon. “I know. I am more frustrated with myself for not seeing the lack of education given to the kids of the pack. Todd, Rick and Tim are a standout. I know Anastasia and a few others are in the same situation” he answers, letting out a sigh as I go and reset the net I set off.
“Well, there is no sign of Michael or Callum. That’s good news” Danny says, as we hop in the car and start to drive over to Nelly’s house. “We still need to keep an eye out; they may not be here now. That can change very fast. We still don’t know who is passing on information to them, if there is anyone” Simon tells them.
“We will stay there the night and head back in the morning” I inject into the conversation. “We still have a lot of food and water in the fridge. A word of warning; the tv dinners don’t have a lot of flavour” Danny says, giving Simon a look of disgust.
“It was quick and easy. I wasn’t looking for flavour” Simon snaps at him and I raise my eyebrow to him. “Sorry; I’m on edge” he whispers, pulling in front of Nelly’s house. “We all are” Danny says, hopping out of the rear of the car and grabbing the key to the house.
“Are we all going to the sanctuary tonight?” Todd asks, looking hopeful. “Not tonight. We were only going to be gone a day or so, unless something else happens. We will have to contact them the old-fashioned way. By phone” Danny exclaims, walking in the door and my phone goes off.
“Love Petal, what’s happening?” I answer it. “Dianna has asked Oliver for asylum. She showed up this morning. She told Michael to go fuck himself, if she couldn’t mark him; then she wasn’t going to be with him” Jade answers me.
“That could be the push for them to attack us” I tell her, noticing Todd, Danny and Simon were all listening into my conversation. “She has more information. Mandy is going to send you to the sanctuary in half an hour. We don’t want to talk over the phone. Let’s just say, when she gets her mind set to do something; she nails it” she informs me.
“Thank you, I will let the others know. We should be back tomorrow, all going well” I tell her. “Good, I want to do…” “Save it for tomorrow; the others can hear you” I smile and Danny starts to blush for me.
“Love you” she responds. “I love you too, Love Petal” I exclaim before hanging up the phone.
“Did you catch what she said?” I ask Danny, Todd and Simon. “Only briefly” Simon answers and looks at me to elaborate. “Dianna has gone to the castle and asked for Asylum. Apparently, she has more information and Mandy is sending us to the sanctuary in 20 minutes” I tell them, looking at my watch.
“Now I understand why you said it may give them a push to attack us” Todd proclaims, sitting back on the sofa. “I propose we leave as soon as we get back from the sanctuary. If they do attack, they will need us to be there” Simon pipes in.
“Sounds like a plan to me” Danny responds, looking for confirmation. I nod my head in response; wondering what Dianna has to say. **“We will find out shortly”** Kingsley says to me. **“I just worry. I am sure everything will be fine.” “Der; you are the king of worriers”** he responds chuckling.
“We’ll cook something up when Mandy sends us back, take it with us on the road” Todd says, sitting down on the sofa, next to Danny. “I’m ready” he adds.
