Chapter 42

Danny’s POV
“I mind linked Cynthia; she understands what is going on and she said when she is finished with having sex, she will help Oliver to find out who is leaking information here” Claudia announces as we wait for Sariah to come to the front of the castle.
“Sorry I’m late” Sariah pants, coming out of the castle doors; “I had to mentally prepare before conjuring the porthole. It will take a bit of energy to produce one for all of you” she adds, standing to the side. “It’s fine, Riah. Leon explained it to us, we were admiring the grounds one last time before we went back” Tracey says, smiling at her.
She gives a smile back to Tracey and mutters a few words under her breath, moving her hand in a circular motion; “Alpha Henry; you go first. It will be a bit unsettling at first; you will step through here and step out in your pack grounds” Sariah explains as Dad picks up his and mum’s suitcase and vanishes in thin air. “Luna Jade” Sariah calls. Mum takes Sophia from Claudia and heads through the porthole.
We go through one by one with Claudia and myself being the last to leave. “Thank you, for your help” Claudia says to Oliver giving him a cuddle and walking through the porthole. “You as well” I say to Leon and Sariah, shaking Oliver’s and Leon’s hand as Sariah gives me a hug and a peck on the cheek. I pick up our luggage and walk through the porthole.
**“Wow”** I say to Jesse, **“I’m glad Sariah warned us before going through. It is unnerving to walk through a space at Oliver’s castle to find yourself somewhere else”** he replies.
“Shall we?” I ask Claudia and we head into the packhouse to our room. “Danny; Claudia; what are you doing back so soon?” Joslyn asks coming out of the kitchen and taking Sophia from Mum and giving her a warm hug. “We had to call our trip short. Cyndy and Brett stayed behind to finish up a few things” Dad tells her, coming in behind us.
“I’ve organised the food for next week; how many guests were you expecting?” Joslyn asks, looking between myself and Dad. I look at Joslyn, shocked; “I didn’t realise you were aware of the celebration yet” I inform her. “Last time I left everything last minute, Joslyn refused to cook for a week. Do you know what it’s like to have 200 people trying to use one kitchen?” Dad chuckles, as Joslyn narrows her eyes at Dad.
“One day is not good enough; to prepare a banquet” she snipes before adding “Alpha Henry told me a month ago, he was planning the ceremony. I was able to organise everything to get the ball rolling; I just needed a date.” “To answer your question, around 250 guests; including the pack” Dad informs her.
“Which reminds me” Dad says getting out a bottle of wine from his suitcase. “King Oliver will be joining us. I got Jade to pick up a bottle of blood wine for him” he adds, giving the wine to Joslyn. Are there any other dietary requirements?” she fumes, looking at him. “No; the steak and chicken will be fine to serve; you may have to cook his a bit rarer than ours” he chuckles, heading up the stairs of the packhouse.
“I should feed this one” Claudia says, taking Sophia off of Joslyn and heading up the stairs after her father. “Can we have some apple pie with custard for the dessert?” I ask Joslyn before heading up the stairs myself. “Claudia already approached me. Yes, we are having apple pie with custard” she smiles. I smile back and follow Claudia up the stairs.
“Danny; can you come in here for a minute?” Dad asks, popping his head out of Tim’s room. “What is it?” I answer, looking at Tim and Chelsea; sitting on their sofa. “Chelsea wants to know about Amanda’s sanctuary and how it works” Tim explains. “Right” I exclaim, leaving my suitcases at the door and taking a seat.
“We will work out a time for both you and Tim to be together. Amanda will take yours and Tim’s conscience to her sanctuary. Essentially, your conscious will be in Claudia’s head; although Claudia is blocked from knowing what the pair of you will get up to; unless she is in the sanctuary as well” I explain to the pair.
“And my body will be unconscious?” she asks, looking at me. “Yes, for the most part. We will leave Carter in Tim’s mind so he will not be. You can leave Lesley in your mind if you do not want to be left unconscious” I explain; “Amanda said she will be bringing Carter and Lesley over separately, she will go missing from time to time” Dad elaborates to her.
“Is there something wrong with her doing this?” I ask Chelsea, who still looks confused. “And it doesn’t hurt or cause damage; having my conscious moved from one person to another?” she asks, trying to get the concept of what is going to happen. “No; no pain. You will see a flash of light and be sent to the sanctuary or back from the sanctuary” Dad explains.
“This isn’t what you wanted to know, is it?” I ask her as she gasps from my question. “No” she whispers looking at her feet. “Tim said the last time he went to the sanctuary, Luna Janelle and Luna Rachael were there” she says through sobs, trying to explain.
“Danny; Chelsea’s father died before she was born. She wanted to know if she was able to see him?” Tim asks; putting his arm around her shoulders. “I can’t answer that question, Chelsea. Goddess Selene said she was bending the rules for Mum and Grandma to see us. They were coming to help us with our situation. The person you should be asking is Amanda. She can ask permission from Goddess Selene” I respond to her.
She lets out a sob and buries her head in Tim’s chest. “How about we go for a walk to Danny’s room, ask Baby wolf the request” Dad suggests as him and myself get up from our chairs. “Are you coming?” I ask the pair, picking up my suitcases again. “Yes” Chelsea whispers and the four of us head out the door. “Where’s Jacob?” “Mum and Dad took him and Elizabeth to get an ice-cream. In actual fact; he is raiding the freezer and taking them out the front to eat it” Tim chuckles as we reach my room.
“Snow Blossom; Chelsea has a request for Amanda” I announce opening the door to our room. Claudia looks up; her eyes are gold. “Baby Wolf; Chelsea would like to know if Goddess Selene will grant a visit from her deceased father, who died before she was born” Dad tells Amanda.
“I will ask, Chelsea. I can’t promise you it will happen” she responds as Claudia’s eyes change back to blue. “I will let you know what she says” Claudia smiles to Chelsea. “Thank you” she answers as her and Tim head back out the door. “Goddess Selene wants to talk to Chelsea” Amanda says coming forward again. “What for?” I ask her. “I don’t know; she did not say” she responds going back into Claudia’s mind.
“Tim; you and Chelsea need to come back here” I mind link. “Did you get a response already?” Tim asks coming back into the room. “Dad, can you take Soph? I will come and get her when we are done” Claudia asks; “I’m not coming?” he huffs, his disappointment. “Next time, Dad” I chuckle.
“Chels, Goddess Selene wants to see you. Please take a seat” I tell her, as the three of us sit down and a flash of light sends us to Amanda’s Sanctuary.
“Chelsea, I’m glad you could come and see me” Goddess Selene says as we get ourselves up off the ground. “Goddess; I apologise for being brazen. I wanted to meet my father” she answers, a tear trickling down her face. “No need to apologise, Chelsea. I unfortunately cannot grant your request” Selene responds, her hair flowing as she moves towards us.
“It’s ok. Danny said you bent the rules by allowing Luna Rachael and Luna Janelle to come and see them. I thought there was no harm in asking” she sobs as Selene places an arm around her shoulders. “Chelsea; I cannot grant your request, because your father is still living” she smiles. Huh? Did I just hear her correctly? As we all look at Selene confused.
“Yes, you all heard correctly. Chelsea; your mother told you, your father was killed to avoid answering the questions that still haunt her today. Your father left when your mother first fell pregnant with you. He has not been back; although she does see him from time to time” she informs us.
“Who is he?” Chelsea asks Selene, “That is a question for your mother; Chelsea. It will help you both bond and move forward with the hurt he has caused” she answers, giving her another hug. “I will be on my way; Tim, please be careful when you return to the River Moon Pack” she says over her shoulder, as flash of light sends us back to our room.
“Are you ok, sweet pea?” Tim asks Chelsea, getting up off the chair and putting his arms around her. “No; I’m not” she cries; looking away from all of us. “Chels; I can’t imagine what you are going through. I am here if you need a shoulder to cry on” Claudia tells her as Chelsea looks in her direction and gives her a half smile; tears streaming down her face.
“We should get back to Jacob” Tim encourages Chelsea, grabbing her hand and helping her off the chair. “I’ll see you tomorrow” he adds, looking at me. “I’ll see you later” I answer, watching the pair walk out the door.
“Poor Chels” Claudia says, looking at the door they just walked out of. “I’m sure her mother had her reasons; but to lie about her father being dead…” I respond trailing off. “All we can do is be there for Chelsea. She needs to talk with her mother and then work out what she wants to do from there” “I agree, Snow Blossom. I’ll go get Sophia from Mum and Dad” I answer, heading out the door and up to their room.
“How was your visit with Goddess Selene?” Dad asks, as I enter into Mum and Dad’s room. “Difficult for Chelsea, Goddess Selene couldn’t grant her request because her father is still alive” I answer him. “I beg your pardon?” Mum asks, staring at me. “Yeah; she explained he left when her mum first fell pregnant with Chels and her mum lied to hide the hurt she was feeling by telling Chelsea he was dead” I explain further.
“How is Chelsea taking the news?” Dad questions; “She’s upset. Tim took her back to their room. I think we will give her a few days to come to grips with what she has been told” I respond, frowning again. “Here’s your little angel; I’ve just bathed and fed her” Mum says, handing me Sophia. “Thanks for looking after her” I smile at the pair. “That’s what grandparents are for” Mum responds as I head out the door and back down to our room.
